  1. I understand and see some of your observations... The High School sport is copying the College level game; bring players in from everywhere as long as they can play and build them into a family...doesn't always work at this level. Powell has all HOME-GROWN talent; no unhappy players from other school districts who want more playing time (all about me, me)...It's all about the team!! The community buys into this player and team concept and committment. We are winners regardless of what the girls do on the scoreboard!
  2. It was a heck of a game!! Congrats to Pats on a great game and season... The girls never gave up...that's great leadership and coaching... Powell salutes you all...
  3. Yeah.. The payback I was talking about was with Craigmont for last year... Now you are thinking...See, it's not so hard...You can think... I wasn't ever worried about you guys in Murphy Center... I know Greenville will ensure we don't get a chance to see you till next summer league..Have a great off season!!
  4. They have to go thru Powell again this year.... No Gifts this year!!
  5. How about NOW?? Can you swallow all that in one Gulp? Just play the game!! Just play the game!! That's what these ladies of heart do!! Anytime, anyplace..just lace it up!! Next stop... Thursday 5:30 PM in the Murphy Center, maybe for a little payback for last year!! Go Craigmont...we are waiting for you...
  6. Opps...You are WRONG again!! Great job knocking off MJ...but You guys don't want any more of Powell... We're on a mission... Payback time is Thursady at 5:30 PM in Murphy Center...
  7. Yeah, there is no way the Clinton Gym has 1500 permament seats... They did add some bleachers to the upper deck... Powell could do some of this also... Picking on our ladies!! And fans!!
  8. Try Halls High School... Meeting scheduled at 8:30 AM today to confirm...
  9. I hope Cait is back...That would be great...but not enough! Powell and Oak Ridge, round 4 on Thursday. Loser will go to Greenville and I hope that is OR...
  10. "Clinton has played for the district title in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2004 - winning five of those games. (Oak Ridge has had similar success). Powell played for the title in 2003 and Halls last played in 1987." You confirm my thread headline...It is NEWS around here big time when Clinton AND Oak Ridge are playing the 3rd place game!! All the teams left in the region are very competitive...Karns and South-Doyle could play with all of them. I am just glad Clinton and Bearden knock heads first, as do Farragut and Oak Ridge...and Halls and Maryville. And Heritage wont be easy! Some really good teams are going to go one and done in the regional. How many home games Clinton lose this year? To OR and BCentral? Two, maybe? They will be tough next week... I'm pulling for a District 3-AAA sweep Tuesday night... And Monday night as well...
  11. In the consolation game at 6:00 today... Powell is going for the sweep with Girls beating Oak Ridge on their floor last night. No way Halls can win the "Battle of the Creek" three straight this year...Powell's time. Go Panthers!!
  12. Well, looks like Oak Ridge and Powell will both end up with two district losses. I understand Oak Ridge will host the district this year, but who will be the #1 seed? How is it determined, since they split? Margin of victory between them? Also, will Oak Ridge host the Region 2 tourney this year?
  13. Greenville put it on Heritage. Cait Mac fouled out with 2 minutes to go. That #42 point guard for Greenville played entire fourth quarter with four fouls. Cait picked her pocket in the back court with 2 minutes left and leaned in for layup...called Cait for the charge...really bad call...#42 was still trying to recover from her lost ball... Great game..
  14. No one is giving Powell Lady Panthers a shot, are they?
