  1. Well the top 4 made it through, so who takes it? I think the finals will be Van Buren Co. vs Cascade. Forrest has a hard time beaten a team three times in a row, just look at last years season, plus with them having to travel to Van Buren Co. it may make a difference. I think that Cascade will beat Eagleville in a close game. I think it will make a difference if Cascade has the big boy playing point guard or playing where he should down inside. If he is handling the ball Eagleville will win with ease, if he is doing what he is supposed to be doing and working inside Cascade will win it. Should be interesting to see who does what, but Coach Pope has gotten Cascade to the district finals each of the two years he has been there and they got a good seed being away from Forrest until possibly the finals... also just like the last 2 years. I think that Van Buren Co. will win the tourney beating Cascade for it, with Forrest taking 3rd place and Eagleville 4th. If this happens I think it will help out these district teams in the region tourney with the regular season 3rd and 4th place teams playing the other districts bottom 2 and the 2 best teams in the regular season playing the top 2 from the other side. Good luck to everyone, looking forward to see how it plays out.
  2. Just wondering if there had been any basketball coaches that had announced retirement, be relaesed from their coaching responsibilites, etc... I am not looking for details or rumors, just know facts about any openings.
  3. I thought that Giles Co. just got a new coach this year. What happened?
  4. I think that everyone is pretty sure of the four teams going on to the region from this district. The real question is.... who will win it? Last year everyone had Forrest's name already on the trophy before the tourney was played and that didn't work out for them too well. So is it their's again this year ? Just wondering what ya'll think about it.
  5. Now that's the funniest post I have ever seen. Webb couldn't even beat Cascade's middle school team, much less beat the high school team at Cascade. Shoot as bad as Community is this year, when they play Webb, its an automatic "W" for the Vikings. Crunchtime I think you have been smelling too many feet over there at Webb. LOL
  6. Well after last Tuesday night, it looks like Cascade may not be able to play for one of the top spots in this district after all. Hey Forrest showed that they are pretty good, and now the biggest game of this young season is Friday night when they play Van Buren Co. I just think that it is funny how many of you like to count out certain teams before there is any proof that they are/aren't a top contender in a district, no matter who it is. Cascade won it last year, and any team that wins it camn't really be counted out until they are beaten out. From the looks of it Cascade was beaten out of any chance of retaining that title this year Tuesday night, and ran out of the gym.
  7. 3-7 huh? Whatever, the only ones that are right on that post is the last one, F.C. Boyd. MTCS and Community will battle it out for the 5 spot, and I like how everyone is counting out Cascade, but counting in Eagleville. Dont be so quick to count Cascde out of the 3 spot if not the top 2. A big test is tonight at Forrest when Cascede comes in for the rematch of last years district championship game in which Cascade won by the way. Everyone will have a better idea after tonight what the future MAY be in this district.
  8. Ok the Shelbyville Times Gazette said that Cascade was "undermanned", and that Alex Craig led the champs in scoring? So, who didnt play for Cascade and why, if anyone knows why? Thanks
  9. What happened last night in this game? Who won? Who played well for both schools?
  10. Hey I dont know about the refs up there, but any refs that I have ever seen, from the hometown or not, arent very good. So NO thats is not an issue for anyone except yall I guess. As for your "whining", no one is whining over here, just wish that other schools would have stood up for their own communities. No reason to whine about it, just really wishing that someone from those other schools would attempt to explain why they are looking forward to traveling that far. Thats all. And who cares about Wartrace, I dont. You must think that I am w/ Cascade, for Cascade, or something... I am NOT. I just liked watching the old district. So why are you bringing up Wartrace, but the last time I was out there it only took about 15 min. to get there from Wal-Mart.
  11. Dont think anyone will have to worry about that. I dont really think from what I have seen and heard that Clarksville[/url] Academy</a>'s gym is big enough to hold a region tournament, nor do they really have the lockerroom space for it. That is not a worry for anyone down this way. Sorry to bust your bubble grammar, but if they do have to travel far from home for region, they may not be that many fans going up there. I know that when Cascade had to go to Mt. Pleasant 2 years ago, that other than the parents and the TV crew, they didnt have that many fans there. And not only Casacade, but the other teams from this area didnt travel all that well to Mt. Pleasant either. Thats all I am saying. Hey Van Buren Co., as for yall having always had to travel, good for you. Big deal. Your school is up in the middle of nowhere, I am sure that some of you call it traveling to get to Wal-Mart. The schools from the other district has not had that problem. So please forgive some of us if we dont feel you guys pain. I think that Cascade's longest trip last year was to Huntland, and I am pretty sure that was one of if not the longest trip for Eagleville, Forrest, and Community as well. I am sure Van Buren Co. will be very hospitable for everyone and maybe the folks who go over there can join hands with ya'll and sing Koom-By-Ya .
  12. For one thing, that wasn't said to bad mouth you and your team/school. It was exactly what I was told from another coach who was at the meeting that those 3 schools allowed to happen, instead of banding together with their other old district mates and getting the tournament a little bit closer to home where people from this area would actually like to go and see the tournament. No offence to Van Buren Co., but from what I have heard, its a very long drive that hardly anyone from our area is willing to make for 2 or 3 nights in a row to watch a district tournament. I guess it was just the fact that they didn't want to give Cascade any advantage what-so-ever. I am just surprised that they are that scared of the Champions and were willing to let another school come in and take the tournament 2+ hours away from their communities. That's all that I meant about it. Sorry you got your "feathers" ruffelled.
  13. Coach Kenny I just wanted to say that I hope that things will work out better for you and the Champs next year. Ya'll had a tough year, but another year of maturing and hard work the youngs kids will be better, the older ones will be better leaders and stronger mentally. Keep up the hard work. Better luck next year.
  14. Yeah I heard that at the district meeting that the administrators and coaches from Eagleville, Chapel Hill, and Unionville were kissing up to u boys from Van Buren Co. That whatever yall wanted yall got and it didnt matter what anyone else thought about it either. I really wish that the district tournaments were all played at a neutral site. I know last year district 11 was at Motlow and that was an awesome experience for both the kids and the fans. Would like to see that happen more often. Good luck to all and maybe someone might not let a new school walk all over them as u 3 did in the spring meetings.
  15. I agree. I think that he is one of the best coaches in any class, not just AA. He seems to always be able to get young kids ready to play and to keep his older guys from settling on what they did last year and to improve to be better the next. Hands down one of the best. Good luck Wilson, c ya the 18th down in bedford.
  16. I think they may be down this year, just like the football team. There is no senior leadership on either of those teams this year, so who knows what they will be like. They will have pretty good shooters outside and if the Hall kid (6'6) inside can stay eligible I think they should be fine. Good luck to em.
  17. Do you know what the kids number was that got hurt for Cascade? Any info would be appreciated. Congrats to Coach Kenny and crew.
  18. well all i know is that i hope that Coach Kenny and his staff are ready for a long ride home again tonight. I mean it will probably be good ole Seth Carter trying to jump out of the back of the bus tonight instead of Faulk. Good luck to the RB and QB for Cascade tonight cause as "good" as that big O-Line is..... they are going to need it. Good Luck Coach Kenny I am afraid your are going to need it again tonight.
  19. If Tullahoma isn't careful, they will get upset from their pride and big heads. Tullahoma should win, but don't be too confident or you will get upset. As for Hillsboro sweeping the floor with Brentwood, give me a break. Brentwood is pretty doggone good and would embarass Hillsboro and Tullahoma. Don't let your pride out way your view of reality dude.
  20. They are big, but Cascade's big strong line hasn't lasted 4 quarters yet. I do agree with letrrip, preperation will be the key, but can Cascade last long enough to see another solid game plan from Coach Kenny and staff through to the end? Cascade will be prepared, but it may not matter if they can't hold up for all 4 quarters. Good luck Coach Kenny and gang, I just hope that you don't need it.
  21. Cascade fell Friday to Moore Co. in a close game. The Champs looked like they ran out of gas. So.... will they be able to go a full game against Nashville Christian on Friday night in the 'Ville? Let me hear what ya'll think. I hope they can get a "W" and start rolling. Good luck Coach Kenny and crew.
  22. No, they can't gp undefeated the rest of the way. They will have to deal with Huntland, Moore Co., and Wayne, Co. Too much talent lying in wait to get their chance to beat them this year. Good luck to all.
  23. How will Cascade be this year? I think that they have most of their O-Line back, but the are still young and can't really move. Don't get me wrong I have heard that they are really strong kids, but what good is it if they can't move their feet and block someone? Their best lineman is going to be a sophomore, Armstrong, but will he have any kind of help? That was their problem last year, and Gallagher had to run for his life week after week after week. I know that Coach Parker will have them ready, but will it be enough? Can they replace Gallagher good enough to make a move in their new region? Let me hear what ya'll think. thumb
  24. I am looking for a high school boys basketball job. I have 6 and a half years of small college assistant coaching experience and 2 years of high school assistant coaching as well. I would also be interested in a middle school. I am highly qualified to teach K-8 math, but I am two Praxis II tests short of being certified. I am willing to go anywhere to coach, just want to share my love of the game. I know it is late to be looking, but nevertheless I am looking. I have been told all summer that I don't have enough experience teaching or coaching, but I am just wanting a chance to prove myself. If anyone interested, please give me a call at 256.338.4513.
  25. Several teams will be at MTSU the last part of June, like the 23,24,25, and 26.
