ACL, Dickson Middle School defeated Smyrna 43-41 on Thursday night. Dickson Middle School plays the winner of the Coffman/Baird game in the finals on Saturday.
Does anyone know who won the Baird/Coffman game?
The purpose of the interview of Mr. Morehead was probably to say, "See public schools recruit too." Then in the next breath say that the schools that they are familiar with certainly don't recruit.
Phil Carr probably deserves to win it year in and year out, but he's not going to win it very often because he comes off as aloof and arrogant on first impression. I don't think he's that way at all, but he's hard to get to know. He's highly competitive and willing to work hard no matter what kind of talent he has.
Although Atteberry is not the center of attention this year, she would be the hardest to replace on the Cheatham County team. She would get my vote.
There are three middle schools in Dickson County:
Dickson Middle School in Dickson
Charlotte Middle School in Charlotte
William James Middle School in White Bluff
Dickson Middle School students are zoned to attend Dickson County High School.
Charlotte and William James students are zoned to attend Creek Wood High School.
There is no Dickson County Middle School. There is always confusion because Dickson is a city in the county with the same name.
Best, I remember Clark came off the bench vs. Henry County in the quarterfinals of the region. I think this was her first action coming back from the hip injury. She started and played in the semi-finals vs. Northeast. She turned her ankle against Northeast but returned to the game and finished it. I guess the answer is : Yes, she played, but not at full strength.
Several outstanding coaches have taken up residence in 10AA. Tell why a certain coach deserves to win the award. Please don't tell us why some one doesn't deserve to win.
I disagree to some extent. Sometimes a college will take a chance on the outstanding athlete from a poorly coached or undisciplined team. The thinking here is that the player has no where near reached their potential. Many times a player from a top-notch program in high school has peaked out. They are about as good as they are going to get.
I always thought that was why Lipscomb under the direction of Coaches Smith and Roller didn't have many D1 players signed, even though they had great teams and outstanding coaches. The college coaches knew that these two coaches had pushed their players to be the best, so their rate of development was going to be lessened in college.
Another reason is that many college coaches think they can change chicken doo into chicken salad. It seldom happens in my view point; but they keep on trying.......lot of egos in college ball.
