A bunch of road games are on tap in 10AAA this week. Henry County is at Waverly on Thursday the 3rd. Friday, Jan. 4th: Northeast @ Independence Rossview @ Gallatin Dickson @ Hickman County Kenwood has the home game on Friday, entertaining Brentwood. The district schedule cranks back up on Tuesday.

Many of these events lose interest in the teams or their followers once they get your money. The entry fee is $650.

This sure was a hot, hot, hot thread until the actual contest took place. Now it's cold as the icey cutting comments coming from the Patriot crowd last night. The BARREL had to be left in Dickson, along with all those victory score predictions like 24-0 and 38-10. So many coaches (in the stands), and so few teams to coach!

Did anyone else notice that every time Ezell threw the ball inbounds under their own basket, they got an uncontested shot from the corner? No screen, no cut, no nothing.....Here I am. Throw it to me. Wow, I'm open.

Dickson County @ Rossview basketball games had been postponed and rescheduled for Tuesday night, Feb. 14th.

Due to a snowout earlier in the season, Creek Wood played a makeup game tonight (2/6/06) at Cheatham County. Tomorrow (2/7/06) Cheatham County travels to Creek Wood for their regularly scheduled game. This means back to back games vs. the same district foe on consecutive days. This has got to be an oddity. Have any other teams ever experienced such a scheduling dilemma?

Bull! Kids can be dead tired and emotionally drained to the max. Then, thirty minutes later their batteries are charged and their motors are running again. They are ready for some one on one or pop some threes. Don't you remember being young!

The Shelbyville Sports Shop team is the older team (16u). They won in pool play on Friday night over Hanilton Transway 79-54. This is pretty much the same team that won the 15u National Championship last year. They are in the Blue Division . The Tennessee Flight team is 15u, but they are playing up in the 16u for the Boo Williams Tourney. This is the new team put together this year. Tennessee Flight won in pool play Friday night 51-44 over the Virginia Miracles. The Flight team is playing in the Red Division. There are 96 teams competing in the 16u divisions at the Boo Williams this year. The rosters for both the Tennessee teams can be found at www.showtimebball.com.

I bet a lot of young ladies would like to play for a middle school team that wins 22 games. Whining parents ruin many children's seasons. Ten years from now some child from Cheatham County will have to look back and think: You know we had a great season that year, but I never bring it up because my mom whined about the coach at the end of the season. What a way to build a memory.

Faceguarding was made a technical call this year. It was discussed at length at the rules meeting in the fall. Every basketball team has to have a team representative attend one of the rules meetings across the state. This is the TSSAA's way of communicating new info or points of emphasis for the upcoming season.

nwsuperfan, did your source, a boys coach , also tell you that every player nominated by Northeast was chosen for the All-District team? Did your source tell you that the boys and girls selections were made in different meetings in different parts of the building at the same time? There were no boys coaches at the girls' meeting, nor girls coaches at the boys' selection meeting. Is this a case of: (1) big ears, (2) big mouth, (3) sour grapes, (4) all the above?

If I had to start a team in District !0AAA today, and I got the first draft pick, I would pick Cory over anyone else. Why? Because he's the best basketball player.
