All those players are good,but what about Jake Lumpkin?I hear he has some great stuff.He has to be the number 1 or 2 starter.Someone let me know how he is doing.I have not seen them yet,but Iplan on seeing many games before the season ends. thumb

THIS FRIDAY COULD BE A PREVEIW OF A SUB-STATE GAME THIS SPRING.BOTH TEAMS ARE COACHED VERY WELL,BUT I GIVE THE EDGE TO WAVERLY.SEEMS WAVERLY ALWAYS BEATS CAMDEN IN THE REGULAR SEASON.BUT IF THESE 2 MEET IN THE SUB-STATE,MY MONEY IS ON CAMDEN.LIKE I SAID EARLIER,WAVERLY BEATS CAMDEN IN THE REGULAR SEASON,BUT THE LADY LIONS SEEM TO FIND A WAY TO BEAT THE TIGERS IN THE GAMES THAT REALLY MATTER.IF I RECALL CORRECTLY,A COUPLE YEARS AGO,CAMDEN BEAT WAVERLY IN THE SUB-STATE AND WAVERLY HAD BEATEN CAMDEN DURING THE REGULAR SEASON.I THINK THEY BEAT BUCHANON THAT YEAR IN THE SUB-STATE.I SAW THE GAME AND IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE.SHOULD BE A GREAT GAME FRIDAY.

THE LADY LIONS ARE HEADED INTO A TOUGH WEEK OF SOFTBALL WITH POWERHOUSE DICKSON COUNTY COMING TO TOWN TODAY AND AA PERENIAL POWER WAVERLY COMING TO TOWN FRIDAY.THE LIONS SHOULD BE OK THIS YEAR WITH A SURPLUS OF YOUNG TALENT AND THE SUPERIOR COACHING OF STACEY"LITTLE SMOKEY" BAKER AND HIS COUSIN DAVID FISHER.THE COACHING STAFF ALONE IS WORTH 5 RUNS PER GAME.COACH BAKER WILL HAVE HIS TROOPS READY,BUT THE QUESTION IS,WILL DICKSON AND WAVERLY BE READY?I HERE COACH BAKERS YOUNG TALENT IS REALLY COMING ON.WITH PLAYERS LIKE SOPHOMORES PETTYJOHN,HENSLEY, AND RUSSELL IN THE LINEUP,CAMDEN SHOULD BE COMPETING FOR STATE TITLES FOR YEARS TO COME.GO LIONS!!!!! thumb

I've got a few good ones for you. #1, a few years back our school got beat on a foul at the end of the game(7 seconds left). It was a block call against our girl, but they counted the basket and it didn't even go in. We lost when the girl made the foul shot to go ahead by one. Our school checked it out with the local assigning officer and found that it was a "correctable error" and found out what the proper procedure was to have this corrected. Two games later, in an overtime game, our team had the ball and was called for a player control foul (charge). The officials gave the opposing team a one and one freethrow attempt. Our coach is trying to get the officials to listen. They make the first, missed the second, got the tip-in, and then the official turned and T'd our coach up. They made both shots, hit a three one the following possession and led by 8 points fifteen seconds into overtime. The officials blew the foul shooting situation, and then compounded the mistake by giving our coach a T when he was doing just what the assigning officer said to do. Sad. A second one I saw at another game was just as bad. This one official, who I have seen often, likes to make the 'Big Call', blew this one. A player made a baseline cut and the defender nailed him with a forearm as he went through. The player fell out of bounds. This referee gave the kid a Technical foul for 'flopping'. I was sitting on the bottom row, on the baseline and saw it with my own two eyes. That kid got nailed. I don't even particularly care for that high school but couldn't help but feel for the kid.

To be quite honest, I believe that Harpeth(with Derrick healthy) is just as talented as Waverly, or any other team in 10AA. I believe that they pose an interesting matchup for anyone because of their athleticism. This will be a battle for the ages with it being anyone's game. Should be great to watch. Good luck to both squads.

As I stated previously i was embarrassed by our team and our coach during the area tournaments. We were busy running the score up on unworthy opponents. Looks like this really helped us when Mid-State- Ha Ha! While we were busy beating up on weak teams, Charlotte was gettin better! We finished 22-3 and didn't win anything. We lost the conference tournament and the Mid-Sate tournament. The two tournaments that mean the most. Regular season and area mean nothing if you can't win the ones that matter most. I hope my child does not have to endure the embarrassment of being on a highschool team that is coached and plays the way our team was coached and played this year. Good Luck next year Coach Carter! ....you will need it! I hope for my child's sake that Coach Carr coaches differently from you. I am a big CM fan,but last night i was embarassed by their performance.They were playing a much weaker opponent, Houston County,and it seemed they were intentionally running up the score.Do we dislike HC that badly or is it their coach or is this how it is going to be in Cheatham County from now on?I hope this is not a sign of things to come.I thought Coach Carter had more class than to do something like he did last night.There was no need to put his starters back in in the fourth quarter.The score was something like 45-7 at the end of the third quarter.One of our starters was limping very noticeably throughout the game and Coach Carter put her back in in the fourth quarter.What if she had gotten hurt and been out the rest of the season?I just thought it was really classless to win the way we won last night.Iwill continue to be a bearcat supporter until my child moves on to high school,but i hope i do not have to witness such a poor display of class as i did last night.GO BEARCATS AND GOOD LUCK IN THE SECTIONALS!!!!

Congratulations girls!You deserve to be CHAMPIONS.Dont pay any attention to that carney guy from milan.He's just jealous because Milan cant beat you or win their district.Great job Coach Grant! thumb
