  1. Respect and sportsmanship? Those are awful big words to throw around when you have no idea how the game actually went. I can promise you if Gleason wanted to press and play their starters all game then it would probably have been closer to 150-0. Gleason did not press on any possesion, the entire game. The starters played only the 1st quarter and never went back in after that. The clock also ran the entire 2nd half! Carrol Academy's coach is a former Gleason player that started on the 92 State Championship team and 93 Runner up team for Coach Frazier and I bet she will tell you Gleason did every thing possible to respect the Carrol Academy girls short of putting it under their arm for 3 quarters which doesn't help Gleason's Freshmen get any better or Carrol Academy's players improve any. Might want to do some checking next time before calling people out!
  2. O ye of little information. 7A teams do have 17 gold balls, but only 3 silver ones which is a total of 20. 14 A has a total of 11 gold balls (Bradford 6, Gleason 3, Trenton Peabody 2) and 4 silver (Bradford 2, Gleason 1, and Peabody 1) which gives them a total of 15. So 20 to 15. Also 3 of those gold balls from 7A came from Picket County in the 70's so if you are trying to justify 7A as being better all around on state championships from 6 on 6 ball 35 years ago then YOU are the idiot. The girls playing today were almost all born from 1990 forward and could care less who won what back in the peach basket days. Since 1990, most of the girls playing today's lifetime, 7A has 9 Gold balls and 3 Silver for a total of 12. In that same time frame, 14A has 10 Gold Balls (Bradford 93,96,97,98, 00.. Gleason 92,99,06...Peabody 03,05) and 4 silver (Bradford 91,95..Gleason 93...Peabody 04) for a total of 14. So thats 14 to 12 for 14A in the last 2 decades. Also, I think tradition is not only in Gold balls but also in Mrs. Basketballs. 7A has had a grand total of 3 and 14A has a total of 10, thats right TEN in the last TW0 decades. Also, speaking of enrollment : Jackson County- 511, Clarkrange- 283 = 794 : Gleason- 169, Bradford 204 =373 So now that you have a few little ol' insignificant facts go back to chest beating and telling us how much better 7A is than lowly 14A. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. Are you serious? Yes Gleason had 3 starters back from the year before, and those 3 starters averaged about 12 points TOTAL! Gleason relied this year on 3 sophmores and 4 freshmen for the most part to go along with their 1 senior. The senior this year had a great year for us averaging 10 points a game. Gleason replaced 5 year starter and Miss basketball Kayla Hudson at point guard with Freshmen Camille Cooper. When Gleason and Greenfield played the two teams played all Freshmen and Sophmores with each team having 1 senior start. I can promise you that Greenfield had just as much talent as Gleason this season and their girls had plenty of experience being that they played about 150 games together the 3 years they were in junior high. 20 wins by this Gleason team was a great accomplishment, because as I stated earlier the total point average by all their returning players was less than 15 points. Obviously you are the one lacking in area girls basketball knowledge.
  4. Now that our season is over maybe you should come over and take a picture in front of the 3 gold balls and maybe we can get some of the girls to autograph it for you. It's pretty obvious that you are worried about the Gleason program from all your previous threads with us and South Fulton and Trenton or Greenfield and whoever we are playing. Is that because you are jealous of the year in year out success of the program? Because with even one of our weaker teams in 25 years we still win 20 games which would be a banner year for alot of the other local programs. Or is it the fan support you are jealous of? Maybe the fact that even when we don't have best team in the region we still bring big crowds everywhere we go. Take Bradford for example, I don't remember them having a very big crowd the last 7-8 years, especially last year when we played them in the tourney. I remember when Peabody was good a few years ago they had a packed gym and big crowds but the last few years they bring nobody to the games. Everybody loves to support their team when they are the favorites. I'm sure there are several reasons you feel you need to constantly bash our program, and that's fine. Every year there always comes somebody out of the woodworks to down the lady bulldogs in every thread and that just comes with the success of the program. Enjoy it now slam, cause i'm sure you won't be around the next few years if they lady dawgs are having their usual success just like you weren't around last year when we were blowing people out at the state tournament. Although something tells me you were here last year doing the same thing, just under a different name.
  5. The refs didn't take the game, the 20 turnovers had more to do with it than anything. I just made the statement that they beat us on a last second "banked in" shot and our second leading scorer played 2 minutes in the first half. You were wrong about the lady dawgs, you said they wouldn't win half their games but they won twenty and made it to the region tourney which no one thought they would to begin the year. You were wrong and you're an idiot, but I think those two things go hand in hand.
  6. What did West Carroll finish in the district in 2004 and who did they beat in the first round of the region?
  7. Not to mention Gleason's second leading scorer sitting on the bench with 3 fouls for 14 minutes of the first half and their leading scorer fouling out in overtime. Don't get me wrong, great win for West Carroll but they would still be the 9th best team in 14A and this is the best team in the history of their program.
  8. No hibernating here. You were doing some hibernating when Gleason was winning twenty games this season. You showed how much you know about basketball when you said that Gleason "will be lucky to win half their games". This was a "weak" team compared to Gleason standards, but twenty wins by a team picked to finish 6th in their district preseason is a great feat. I'm not sure if you are a Greenfield fan or a Bradford fan from your previous posts, but either way you are barking up the wrong tree. Greenfield finished 8th in the district and didn't find a way to win very many of those close games they were in, and Gleason was just as young as Greenfield so that young and inexperienced argument doesn't work here. Greenfield had just as much talent as Gleason this season so one team winning 20 games and the other losing 20 games should not have really happened, especially when Greenfield won 150 junior high games in a row or whatever with the same girls. Bradford, with the best team they have had in 8 years and with 3 or 4 seniors and the most talent in the district managed to outscore one of the 5 weakest Gleason teams in the last 25 years by a total of 4 points in 12 quarters this season and you think they will bring home a gold ball, lol. 13A is hands down weaker than 14A. 13A's 1 and 2 seeds won by a total of 2 points over 14A's 3 and 4 seeds. 14A's 1 and 2 seeds won by a total of 50 points over 13A's 3 and 4 seeds. But don't let facts get in the way of your ignorance. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. 14A may be down in terms of not having one, single dominant team but it is still a pretty strong district 1-8 especially compared to 13A. Bruceton finished 3rd in 13A and got beat 30 on a neutral court to Gleason, Bruceton would have finished 9th in 14A behind Greenfield. West Carroll finished 2nd in 13A and they split with Gleason during the regular season and Gleason finished 3rd in 14A and was probably closer to 8th talent wise. West Carroll also lost by 8 to Greenfield at home (which I have already stated was 8th in 14A), 15 to Dresden on a neutral court (who didn't advance to the regional tourney) and by 34 at Bradford. Clarksburg outscored West Carroll by 13 total points over the course of 12 quarters during the season and tourney, which is 21 points less than Bradford beat them by in 4 quarters. Clarksburg and West Carroll may very well play for the region title, I just don't agree with the statement of 14A being that down. I can promise you if those two teams were in 14A you could add 6-8 losses to each of their records.
  10. Jealousy is also "week". /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  11. I have no idea a win-loss record head to head for the two coaches. I remember a bunch of years Gleason would win at home and Bradford would win at their place. I know all 4 years Ashley was here that Bradford never beat Gleason at Gleason because she never lost a home game. Kara Sanders senior year Gleason beat Bradford both games pretty bad but overall I would say Russell is probably 4-6 games ahead. Slamdunker, look who finally crawled out from under their rock. Didn't hear much of the Gleason would be lucky to win half their games when they were 13-4, lol. And I'm sure Russell didn't "dominate" Frazier nearly as bad as Gleason has "dominated" whatever program you follow for the last 25 years!!!
  12. Not really wanting to correct you Dawgfan, but Gleason has 10 wins now and 4 losses.
  13. Nice comeback. You must be part of a program that has never done anything and gotten beat by Gleason year in and year out to want to bash them in every post of yours. Nobody from Gleason has claimed to have a great team this year, we are very average amongst a very average region. I'm the one with my head in the sand? You claim Gleason may not win a game next year and is in "trouble in the future", yet they have been starting 3 sophmores and 1 freshmen for the majority of the season and have beaten Bradford at Bradford, and Lake County at Lake County, both of which were supposed to be the 2 best teams in our district going into the season. Gleason has also been playing about 10 girls in every game and their second 5 consist of 1 junior, 1 sophmore and 3 freshmen. I can promise you Gleason will hold their own for the next 3-4 years and who knows after that for any program.
  14. Crying about refs? I don't know where you get the complaining about refs thing because the refs haven't been whats keeping us from putting the ball in the basket. Frazier is having a pretty good year, averaging about 13 a game which is pretty good for a 15 year old. Also on the comment about the freshmen not winning anything, I can promise you if you take either Frazier or Stout off that team last year they do not win the Gold Ball. Maybe next time your team plays Gleason you can get toghether with some of our girls and yall can share success stories. They can tell you about blowing everybody out in the Boro last year and winning a gold ball, and you can tell them about that time your program won those junior high games!!! HaHaHa
