Marion beats Soddy 2 to 0 and beats Warren Co. 14 - 0 in five. Marion will be playing at Rhea on Sunday.

Marion will now take on Soddy Daisy and Warren Co. today. Catsbackr will you calling todays games at Soddy. YOu didnt do to bad of a job last nite.

Marion beats Sequatchie in a double header played at Dunlap. The first game was pitched by Justin Bell. He gave up three hits allowing only one walk. Marion scored 7 runs in the first and went on to win in 5 innings 10-0. The second game was pitched by Lucas Lloyd. He gave up only one hit and allowed no walks as Marion won this game in 5 innings as well. The score was 10-0.

I was not trying to imply that Coppinger didnt pitch good. He did. He was almost perfect. I give Hixson all the credit. They outplayed Marion last night. As for Bettis, yeah he only gave up three hits but he had six or seven walks and was having to pitch out of troble all night. He was pulled in the fifth or sixth inning. I personally think he could have pitched better and still just given up three runs. I am sorry catsbackr if you thought I was not giving Bettis or Coppinger enough credit. Why do you have to be a smart_ _ _. I wish both teams the best of luck the rest of the season and maybe they will meet again in the district and maybe even in the regional.

The score was 2-0 in favor of Hixson. Coppinger did pitch well. He had a no hitter going into the sixth. Zeke Guyear broke that up with a single in the sixth. Bettis was not on his best. He did pitch well and just gave up three hits. His walks came back to hurt him though as both runs had reached base via the base on balls. Good game, fast game, and I think Marion and Hixson will probably see each other again.

At Grace today: Walker Valley 10 Grace 6 Marion Co. 19 Grace 3 Marion Co. 8 Plainview, Al. 8 in extra innings Polk Co. and Plainview were playing when I left. That should have been a good game.

Can Hixson control big Sam and Notre Dame in the city side of the district?

Now that the season has started, what are your thoughts on the district. Has anybody's thoughts changed?

Marion did not win easily. They took themselves out of a couple of innings with poor base running. Bettis was solid on the mound and the Warriors hit the ball well. Several players had a multiple hit game. The two teams will meet again tonite at Marion. Marion will once again host due to Grundy having field problems.

Being from Chattanooga area and not wanting to drive all that way for nothing, does anyone know how the tourny directors are going to handle the weather. Will they move it to Sunday, will we just lose a day, do the fields take alot of rain, etc.?

They did make some errors. I think they may still have some still in basketball. Marion did play well and they played a whole lot better than they did at McMinn Central.

Marion scored in the 20's and CSAS scored one run. They played 8 innings I think. Bettis, Guess, Grisswald, and Hennegar pitched for the Warriors. CSAS had a couple of left handers, the one that started and the one that finished,that looked good.

I will agree that their first outing was terrible. There is not one person on the team that will disagree with you. But lucky last year? First of all last year is just that, last year and will not affect one play this year so how can you say that it was luck? You dont win 31 games playing a schedule that Marion plays and just be lucky. Sure some games may of had some luck involved but all good and great teams have got luck on their side. Marion has talent at every position. It may not be college talent, but it is good high school talent. They return all of their pitching and have some young kids that are ready to step up in the rotation to make it deeper. The three seniors they lost are going to be replaced by very capable young men. Marion again plays a tough schedule. Will they win 30 games again, I dont know, they may win more. But I think it is safe to say that everyone will be looking at Marion with a litte more respect than what you are giving them. As of right now the district goes through Marion County!

McMinn did beat Marion. They hit the ball real well. They did make a few mistakes up the middle but it is early and that is what these scrimmages are for. Marion was a few players short but give credit to Mcminn for their bats. Their catcher hit the ball real well.

What is the word coming out of Sequatchie and Bledsoe? Has coach Juan got those boys ready? What about Grundy? Is Ted the Head coach this year or is Tom still there?

Someone who is close to Charger baseball please help me out. If we get this rain that they are callng for, will we be able to play Saturday? I think the rain will be gone by Friday afternoon. Is the field tarped, does it drain well, all grass; just trying to get my plans layed out for this weekend. Thanks in advance for the info.
