I'm sorry that I do have an injury update because its one more to add to our list. Jamal Hall broke his hand yesterday at practice and will miss at least the first two games. Brock Church's mom thinks he will dress for the South game, but is doubtful for play. Brent Kinser or Ethan Malone will be Jamal's replacement.

Jamal Hall is out for 3 weeks at least with an injury. It is a broken hand. That will be a tough loss to injury. Too bad these first two games are some of our hardest and we have to play without Church and Jamal.

I'll start off the first game prediction by being very positive with a guess of Devils will win by 2 td's. Speaking of the o, I thought Quarles, Wright, Morrison and Anderson all looked good in the scrimmages and jamboree. Quarles will be busy...he is also starting safety. Hope they don't wear him out. I've said this before...this is a great senior class both on and off the field. They all will play with 100% effort and will play for the team not individual recognition. I well remember last year. I still think there was way too much " hoopla" about the new turf, stadium, etc. In my opinion, it led to over confidence on Greeneville's part and was a distraction from the game itself. Before we could come to our senses, we were too far behind to do anything about. It probably served as a humbling experience, but we sure don't want a repeat! Defense looked great the past couple of weeks! We miss Church! GO BIG GREENE!

I predict it to be a Devil win!!! Our awesome defense should make it difficult for them to move the ball. Greeneville's o seems to be clicking as well. Sounds as if the boys are preparing well for Jeff without being overconfident. Countdown is 3!!! GO BIG GREENE!

I agree....the devils should easily be tops in their conference. Their performance at last night's jamboree was superb! Not only did we get to see the starters do excellent, but ALL kids got a chance to show us how their hard summer work had paid off! It was obvious that it had! Brock Church will possibly be able to dress out for the Sullivan South game! It will certainly help to get him healthy and playing again! The fever is here......5 days to official game time! There is another scrimmage on Friday at Burley Stadium against Science Hill. There was great fan support on Friday against Volunteer. Hope to see the same or a few more this Friday! As always....GO BIG GREENE!

I'd say alot of Greene Devil fans will come out for the Friday scrimmage! Murphy's Fair has ranked the Devils #7 in the state. Time will tell. Go Big Greene!

Austin has had reoccuring head injuries.

The break was right at the growth plate. Hopefully, Brock will be back in 6 weeks, rather than 8! Yes Barb, he will be a huge hole to plug! Naturally, he is extremely disappointed that he is missing the Jeff and Sullivan South games! His determination will get him back on that field asap! I understand if Austin Perkins can't play, coaches will bring Matt Smith, rising sophomore, to be backup quarterback. Brock was playing quarterback when he broke his wrist yesterday. Go Big Greene and speedy recovery to Brock!!!!

I absolutely agree! The camp was quite a success and brought alot of unity between players, families and coaches. Brock Church broke his wrist today and underwent surgery this afternoon. He will be out 6-8 wks. and will really be missed. He is a kid that had a fantastic season last year and plays with 100% heart and effort. I understand that Austin Perkins is still very questionable. I enjoy all of the comments about football, but find it so refreshing to read such postive comments about the kids on and off the field! It is amazing how much support this GHS football program has in our community! GO BIG GREENE!

Varsity numbers are good this year. Devil camp is going great. Backup quarterback suffered a concussion, but I don't know the extent of the injury or how long until he can play. Players seem extremely excited and can't wait for the scrimmage next week! Go Big Greene!

Let's all just enjoy the game of football. Many fans know lots of kids on ALL Greene County teams, which Greeneville is a part of. Pray for injury free games, good weather, good fan turnout and good sportsmanship and let the scores fall as they may. Can't wait to watch some outstanding athletics in Greene county!

With great coaches onboard, the varsity reports Monday am for 3 days of "Devil Camp." They looked great at Maryville College last weekend and with alot of work this week, they will be ready for a terrific season! This team has a great senior class both on and off the field! Let the football begin! Go Devils all the way!
