  1. Yes, I am close to the program to know that there has been preliminary contacts with MUS and Ensworth. I do not know the "whys" to the reasons given to them not coming and playing. Maybe what you said about their own zero week plans is the reason, that I do not know. What I do know is that all these people asking for Alcoa to go OOS isn't real feasible. Just like most small schools $$$$ is always an issue and Alcoa is no exception. The reason for the interest in the Twin City Classic is for making some money, along with the obvious bonus of getting some teams Alcoa wouldn't normally play. The problem again is with all this speculation on who Alcoa should play is that with the tiebreaker system many teams aren't real fired up about scheduling with Alcoa. That includes Webb. People need to realize how expensive it is to buy 80+ kids a state championship ring...6 years in a row.
  2. No, the Twin City Classc (I think it's going to be called) will be Alcoa and Maryville playing two teams that are invited in. The game will be held at the site not having the Maryville/Alcoa game. Ensworth and MUS were the first two contacted and last I heard it didn't look good that they were going to accept.
  3. Replacing those 'backers will be the key. It is a possibility that there are 3 sophmores starting a LB next year. Even though those 3 sophmores are extremely talented (as many of that next years sophmore class), that's kinda scary. I've been wondering if QB accuracy issues were due to elbow/wrist issues. Not making excuses, just thinking those injuries maybe changed his mechanics. Our offensive line will reload. Will miss all three Robinsons, but D. Warren at end and we'll see J. Henry at other with a similar skill set to D.W. On offense.... skill positions still LOADED. Vee, Taharin, Zeke, D.W., Crenshaw....jeez. Couple of sophmores at WR will work in. Impressed with K. Dean.
  4. Offense was vanilla...Defense was dominant. Milan did a great job of putting 8 in the box and stuffing the off-tackle power. Opened up a bit when Alcoa ran sweeps and loads. The defense looked phenomenal. Milan couldn't run at all. A couple of big plays kept them in it as long as they did. Volfan.. please... it's not even close...
  5. Typical.... Milan looks the same as last year. Putting up gaudy numbers on offense in West Tennessee is like playing a Junior Varsity schedule... 6 is great, but 7 is my lucky number....
  6. Any game descriptions? How's Alcoa's QB playing? Our defense??? Anything.... Dang I wish I was there.
  7. Keep the updates coming. The scoreboard isn't showing anything Go 'Does!!
