  1. Based on schedule and who they had returning from last year, I expected 7-3 or at worse 6-4 for SM. I don't see anything better than 3-7 now at best. They lost three key starters to transfer and Coach Boeck and 4 other skill kids to injuries. Not having 6 or 7 good players on the field is tough in 3-A football. They do play hard, especially Gauthier, menzel, chandler, Teal and Weigert .
  2. Basically the same schedule as last year. Switched Ooltewah from Greenville and Bradley for Cleveland.
  3. Will be ugly on the Mtn. Mercy rule will be invoked if Signal can't get 15 first downs. They will get better after this game.
  4. EH did not out physical SM, but they do have better skill kids. EH will struggle in their league unless they get tougher upfront. sm will get handled next week. They just don't have the numbers, but their kids are coached up and play hard. They will be fine in league play if they can avoid more injuries and the weather cools down. They only had two returning starters on offense and defense. They need to stay positive and healthy.
  5. I agree with Troll. The over involved patents seem to always be the root of the issue. I'm proud of the boys that have stuck with it. Signal Mountain is a hard place to coach with so many involved parents, but Coach Wise will figure it out eventually. Nothing wrong with being tough on the boys, but he also has to make it fun for them as well. Less than 2% of kids that play high school will ever play college football. It's about balance. You can't teach kids life lessons when they are not out there. I hate to see the younger boys quit.
  6. I hope he can keep the coaches on staff....good coaches and good men
  7. He is retiring from coaching. He has two aging parents that are dealing with health issues and raising a grandchild with significant health issues. Check out this past weeks Newsletter from Signal Mt. Baptist if you don't think he had a positive impact on the community and kids. I have never seen someone spew bad on someone like you. CBP will be missed badly.
  8. Boeck, Gatewood, Floyd all would be solid fits for the job.
  9. Fulton, Greenville and Knox Catholic proved to be tough, but 3a is where they technically should have played the last 4 years. It didn't really matter.
  10. Never had close to 700 when they were 2a for the first two years. They don't even have that now. They played 4a with barely over 600 the last 4 years.
  11. Nope my kid is long gone and very happy he played for CBP. His father never coached so again your clueless.
  12. You are way off base with your comments. CBP is not going to play a kid because a parent does work. He is going to play the kids that show up to practice, perform and give the team the best chance to win. He doesn't care who your parents are. I know him well and he could go back to any school he's ever coached tomorrow. He is tough and some parents and kids don't make it through his program for whatever reason. Some that were great players and some that thought they were better than they were. Evidently you or a child of yours didn't make it. Mine did, but it was hard on him but he truely understands what hard work and commitment to the team means and the team is always first. Football is not about making everyone happy and It's not about any one kid no matter how good they are. I'm not even sure why I am responding to your post since only 15-20 people even read this stuff.
