  1. Lost some big lineman and two good backs. That being said the offseason work has been better than I've seen in a while. So has coaching. Kids are responding and getting stronger and faster. I think Overall this team will be better than last year and is about a year away from a deep playoff run. Go Tigers!
  2. He did make some bad choices. Sorry, just hope the bad blood left with him.
  3. Me too. Rockwood is who he dropped for Mcminn. I just think you shouldnt do bussiness that way. And about those 2 beatings you never can tell.
  4. It was a "money" deal. Away and away but 2 good checks without even painting our field.
  5. Plus a 8 game jv schedule. And i just filled in the blanks.
  6. I think we should let our booster club make this call. Since it's so well ran.
  7. Now that's a coach I'd sign a petition for! He played on one of thoses hard nosed no quit Meigs teams i do belive.
  8. I agree that the Rockwood deal was part of it. I think Jones had good intentions but he made some poor poor decisions. Might make a great assistant but did do well as the HC. But on the upside if we can keep em all together there's a great group of Freshmen coming up.
  9. If Meigs starts out strong i think they pull off 3 straight. I think we were a tad flat out of the locker room but got it going towards the end of the first quarter. You can get away with that against Tellico but not so much against Sweetwater. Should be a good one. Go Tigers!
  10. I do think Meigs is getting the pieces in place. Good coaching other than the O line. the Tigers line has been their downfall for a few seasons now. I'm not a big fan of the stand up and wrestle around style of blocking. Strong man wins everytime. Meigs has always been ubder sized. It's time to start playing like it. You've gotta teach em to get after it. Be agressive and stay LOW. But i guess i am a little old school. Go Tigers!
  11. I would love to see the Pig Pen! Now that would bring back some memories.
  12. I'd really like to say Meigs wins but i don't know. I've really been waiting for a leader to step up for this team. All i've heard is the same ole it's all the coaches fault again. I want this team to win they just really don't look they want to.
  13. Meigs came out flat. Got hit in the mouth and were down by 20 by the time the smoke cleared. Take away the first quarter Meigs lost 15-12. Not awful. Green backs Multiple formation I looked much better than Meigs spread. We're a running football team! Line played as good as they have in a couple of years. No offense to Alwaysright but our QB is not our strong point. He'll get better just he's just green. These are good kids they will win some games. Oh and parting thought I didn't really enjoy the rachet jawing the QB did at the reciever that ran the wrong route That looks bad on the whole team. You win with class as a team, you lose with class as a team. Go Tigers! Lets right this ship.
  14. Very well said! I like your two cents.
  15. The schedule is kinda Tiger friendly. I'd say Polk, York, and maybe Sequatchie will be tough for the Meigs to get by. And Sweetwater just seems to have our number. What will tell the tale is how the team responds to that first loss. I think this teams character is pretty good. But if they hang their heads it could get ugly. But I think Meigs, win or lose will be alot more fun to watch this year. And i think Meigs football is looking up. They've got a good group of young kids that'll be Freshmen in 2011.
  16. Meigs is leaps and bounds better as far as attitude goes. Coach Jones is very upbeat and possitve and i think thats been an area we've been lacking. I don't really see a 9-1 or 8-2 team but i think if they stay healthy Meigs could slip into the post season this year. Polks not looked real sharp thus far but i know Coach Davis will have them ready when it counts. This year i think everybody is playing for second.
  17. How about a few Mr. Football predictions? Who are a few players to watch?
  18. i think u all need to get a rule book.. It clearly states in BOLD that during the two week dead period all althletic facilties, weightrooms, practices and game fields must be closed and the players must not have no contact with the coaches at all ................. the kids can be at a differnent field like a park or something going over routes but no coaches may be present ... as for working out they may be done any where but the school once again WITH NO COACHES present....... TSSAA will be curious about this one HMMMM already breaking POLICY The rule book says the dead period started last monday. Well there's been no workouts this week. And the kids can have a playbook and run thru stuff on their own.
  19. I know he's a spread guy but do we have the personel to run the spread. Our O-line play has not been very good for a couple seasons. Seem kinda timid for lack of a better word.
