  1. Macon has had their share of playing PC just a few short year a go and im hear to tell ya they are a handful!

PC WAS ALWAYS nice and courteous no matter where the game played and the band is great.

Not saying who's gonna win but i know enough about the firebirds to know beating them wont b an easy task.

If the bee's win they deserve it. Good luck to both teams and hello to an old friend to the firebirds.

Some do have respect but others don’t like @UCSportsFan that thinks they are “just better”

Even after Macon Students Collected and helped Baxter after the tornado in 2020. Do not stomp on the team’s logos and taunt after a win. One of your players #62 was taunting the sidelines at the end tonight.

They are young adults and some still kids. Stuff like this is gonna happen from time to time i promise if macon had won their logo would have been stomped on to. Its a game with a lot of hard work and pain and sometimes actions get the best of ya after being beat on for 3 months and run to death. Boys will be Boys sometimes no matter how good the coach is.  Let the coaches and players handle it. Not saying its right but we ant playing checkers 'iT'S FOOTBALL"

I have some very good friends that live in MC and tons of respect for the schools up there and the coaches. Macon had a very good team this year. They will be back. Too much pride and tradition not to.

Macon returns a lot players for next year. Not saying by any stretch they'll win every game but the tigers will be very solid.

As for now the bee's have the tigers number without a doubt ya can't turn the ball over in a game like that especially twice.

Oh this hurts but good luck friday night and congrats.

It's quite amazing that you seem to know everything that goes on in Putnam county despite living two counties away and whining on CoachT every waking hour. The only advantages Upperman has are coaching, community support, and last but certainly not the least, a championship work ethic. This did not happen over night; every team in the Upper Cumberland has been getting out-worked by the Bees for over a decade. It is 100% home-grown talent. Coaches like Gabe Villarreal (now at Smyrna) instilled in us the mentality of a champion, and although he wasn't with the team long, he was instrumental in the development of players such as York and Ely. We still had that championship mentality even when we were 1-9 back to back seasons and only 19 players remained, and Coach Derek Samber was the scout team QB just so we could hold practices. We still had that mentality when we could only beat Pickett Co and were one of the worst teams in the state.

Pieces began to fall into place when Herron became head coach and rallied the community and got more students to show up. It wasn't a fluke when York and company dominated nearly every team they came across that year, and little ol' Baxter set national and state records against a team that could pull players from Chattanooga (over 40 times the population of Baxter btw), and beat a private from the same city. And when that same boy ends up on the front page of the Tennessean, the team is the talk of the town, standing room only at home yet even the mayor is there, kids who have never had a passing thought about football all of a sudden want to put the pads on next year. All because someone told them YES, they can in fact win in football. That was the beginning of a burgeoning culture at Upperman.

Success breeds success, and nowadays when kids and parents can just google "what's the best football team in Putnam" before moving here, we don't have to do anything. Same guess for coaches like Caine. They just show up on our doorstep. It's like stealing candy (or players) from a crybaby. They certainly aren't moving to a school where all they can do is whine about how it's not fair. Players in my class moved to Gordonsville and Smith Co because we sucked. Both good players, one a hard hitting LB and the other probably the biggest lineman to come through Upperman. Both could've made a huge impact on the field. But I didn't come crying about it on the T. I put in more work in the off season.

"B-but Upperman fans cry too when they lose!", you exclaim. I've never accused teams like Alcoa of recruiting/cheating/etc, just salty about getting trounced deep in the playoffs. The people who choose to shift blame to things out of their control (refs, other teams) are just sore losers. It's been over 10 weeks yet you're still butthurt about your 1 loss to the U. You don't actually want to win, you just want your ego satisfied. If you did you'd work harder the next week. When the Tornadoes came to Cookeville years ago and I saw them play, I thought "They're the team I have to beat to win state". You on the other hand see a team like them and think "they're cheaters!" You've got the same mindset as the kids that quit the team because we didn't win but one game, or because the workouts were too hard. Simply put, you're a quitter who pouts and stamps your feet when things don't go your way. I don't know why the Tigers haven't forfeited this game already. Its apparent no one in Lafayette believes they can win. Just go ahead and turn your pads in. If you can't even beat Baxter, what do you think's gonna happen against Anderson Co, Greeneville, or Pearl-Cohn?

And Cookeville players? They couldn't hold our jockstraps until they learn how to play football like an Upperman Bee. Ain't it funny how one or two players from a mediocre 6A school can turn little ol' Baxter into a program Cookeville can only dream of. The Bees would go 10-0 with the Cav's schedule. Surely it can't be the coaches? Or maybe a winning mentality that has been developed over the years? Naw, must be those superstars we get from the other side of Willow Ave., they just turn into 5-Star recruits when they walk into Baxter city limits.

The fact that you continue to denigrate the team and the players who have put so much blood, sweat, and tears into building a championship-level program, only to be accused of behaving like Lipscomb Academy or Brentwood Academy and attributing all of our success to a school that couldn't win a coin flip with a marble, is quite telling of your low moral and mental aptitude. All of this and we haven't even won a single state championship, much less make an appearance in a championship game. Pathetic! No doubt this crybaby loser mentality infests the rest of Macon County. Maybe try a powder puff league for a start? That might be a more appropriate talent level for the Macon Co. Tutu-wearin' Tigers

No doubt u copied homework from someone else in school and thought  ya made an A ALL BY YOURSELF!

One of the Largest Cities in the State?  I'm not a fan of either team but Cookeville isn't in the top 20 population wise in the state and a little larger than Maryville.  Everyone wants to play for a winning program and it sounds like Upperman has invested in their Football program the same way schools like Oakland, Maryville, Alcoa, Greeneville, Etc. have.

I was wrong  cookville is the 24 th biggest city in the state which is big compared to Lafayette isn’t even in the top 100

It’s the 18th largest in state if I looked at it correctly

If you build it they will come

Ok but just remember Macon is not the we get players from one of the largest cities in the state and we're just good teams as everyone from baxter county says. No matter how u say it or slice it there's a huge advantage but i know ya build it BUT WHO COULD'NT? WITH THAT ADVANTAGE!  Putnam academy is good and by all means they should be every year if not something went bad wrong.

The Upperman Bees will mercy rule the Stone Panthers in this game. It will happen. Do you want to bet on it? This is the JohnnyRay final say

I won't bet but i don't see a mercy rule at all nor do i see a blow out again! And not saying stone will win but this game will be nothing like the last game they played.

Macon Tigers will not be able to mercy rule Loudon Redskins in this game. I guarantee it will not happen. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

    And i approve this.

Some just don’t understand the numbers. Cookeville is the largest high school in the state. Just syphoning off 5 players a year in football from Cookeville is 20 players in basketball 2 a year is an entire team. It’s almost impossible for small county schools to produce enough talent to overcome this advantage.

I understand it just like u but they think they're just that good and sad part is it's an unfair advantage!

I have no issue with schools playing within the rules set forth. That being said, some posters want to promote the idea that some schools don’t have advantages as a result of these rules, which is asinine. Schools that gain athletes from larger schools have an advantage. That’s just indisputable common sense.

Furthermore, stating the only out of zone kids that have played sports at Watertown (or any other school that’s an open zoned school) had a “hardship, past issues or academics” you are either being disingenuous or haven’t been involved with the inner workings of high school sports and are just simply naive to the truth.

Thank u someone with common sense!

With Tigers being in a  opened zoned County, the Macon County all star team will be way to much for  H20 to handle. To many advantages on Lafayette's side.

    Macon by 14.

It must really sting like a bee knowing that everyone knows baxter county has an unfair advantage!

Macon can only get players from rbs a single A school Baxter county has cookville to get players from a city thats population ranks the 18th largest in the whole state. No way u can tell me that's fair to alot of schools.

And yes baxter county is good in every sport because of it but most are not impressed any school could do this if they had to population of a big city but they don't. So enjoy that all star team.
