From what I seen at the G/J game last night Grundy has one kid they rely on and thats pretty much it. They also have some pretty big lineman, not the best blockers but that is still a lot of weight to move. SP should start there season with a mercy rule if they play together. I would just like to see SP pass defense get better because aganist Grundy they can get away with it but teams that throw the ball good we will be in trouble. Cant wait for Pirates football to start.

Im just going to be honest SP year in and year out will not beable to compete with Alcoa we only have 250 kids in our high school so it would be hard. I wouldnt say were scared were just not dumb. And polk is a hard match up for us there big and run straight ahead. last year we had a few lineman out when we played them and it would have made it closer if they were there but dont think we would have won. SP does good to be so small I dont know about who recuits but are kids are SP kids and we play bigger teams because most 1a teams are not good enough. Good luck to Alcoa I would love for us to play yall because I respect yall program but guess will see yall in Cookville.

Man what is with us SP fans always getting on here and saying were the best. SP does have a good team and I would consider us the favorites(that my opinion)but I think it will be close once all the top teams play each other. The word around SP is G'ville is the team to beat and that is probably because we play them in the playoffs every year and we know they are good. Teams that throw the ball good not alittle bit has the best chance to beat sp. I dont think there is any team in 1A that throws the ball better than Signal. So I think you will have to throw the ball and have a good defence to beat SP. I will say this since 07 SP has drop in talent little by little. And the 08 team was better then the 09 team. And I dont get to watch teams in the west play so I dont know who is good and who is not. Go Pirates

Hey purplegrad not to rain on your happy moment since jasper finally beat the pirates but yalls jr high kids have to deal with playing are young kids that are already playing high school for the next three years. And by the time are jr high kids become seniors they will have better coaching and well you know what happens then. Does 64-0 ring a bell. Hey sportsman thats my bad I just got caught up in these boards. I will tell yall another guy that had some wheels was that Wheatherspoon kid when he got that stride going he was gone. He just set a record in his division in college for running back a punt for a TD think it was 87 yards and in the same game got a pick. That kid had some wheels. That Bibbs kid could fly too but couldnt hold on to the ball. My prediction will come in the morning.

Well im glad you are pulling for the Pirates and yes Polk came out and laid it to us. But SP did come out fighting in the second half which made me happy. And I think games like that makes us better and lets us know we got to come out ready every game. Go Pirates

Well that music is for the players on the field not for the rest of us. But thats true you cant understand most of it. If it was up to me we would play some good ol country but it not and Im sure that old 70's music wouldnt do anything for them 17 and 18 year olds.

Well boys its bout that time and I hope SM is ready because its going to be very loud. Im getting there atleast an hour early to get my usually spot on the wall with all the other railbirds and you better believe were going to be loud. I know Vic hasnt showed much in our first three games but he is going to pullout everything for this game and that is why I think SP will win. Lets go Pittsburg show them whos the best!!!

Well all I got say is SM will probably be moved up next year but I am glad they have been in our district these last couple of years it has been exciting to play them and it makes our team better. I also hope we keep playing them even when they move up because im sure they will continue to be a great program. They have help make our district tougher which we needed because it doesnt help blowing teams out every game and then get in the playoffs and have a tough game and not know what to do. I mean its not fair for other teams in our district to have to play them but luckily SP has the talent to play with bigger schools most of the time but its not SM fought they are in our district. Well pittsburgLegend you know I will be on the sideline right beside you like always. I honestly think this game could go either way but SP has to have there line blocking a whole lot better then what I saw friday night and we will see if our pass defense will hold up and make big plays. We will all so see which team is in better shape since neithere teams starters has play a whole game all year and this game will be a battle. But after everything is said and done I think SP will win this game. My prediction will come on friday just like always.

I think you ment to say 2006 that is when SP got ran over by Temple and if I remember right didnt temple get in trouble and have some state championships taken away from them for having "Transfers" that didnt have to pay. But that being said they still beat us when we throught we couldnt get beat. In 2007 we didnt lose a game and that was byfar the best team we have had in a while if not the best. And just so everyone knows there was NO COMPETITION in 2007.

Well I am going to make it to this one. SP is looking good again this year it seems cascade is struggling a little bit this year. I hope no injuries come from this game. Hey does Cascade have the same qb as last year? He was pretty good I mean he had a tough time against us last year but that was because he didnt have enough time to throw the ball. Well I just got back from jaspers middle school game and I hate to say it but I bet there are more jasper fans there than at the high school game tomorrow. The only people that will be at the game tomorrow is the kids parent and I bet half of them want come.
