  1. didnt you say something similar for the mba vs ehs game? and that didnt work out so well
  2. I think that MUS is probably the better team, but the same could have been said (and was said) about both the EHS and the BA game. I think KWoodroof said it well on the MBA vs BA thread, "I wouldnt bet against MBA right now"
  3. State championship game. anything else need to be said? predictions??
  4. I was talking to some players, and I now know that they do look at these threads, and comments like hdcastle's about MBA wanting out of the season and not wanting to play EHS again really are great motivation, so I'd just like to say thanks to all of the people (probably a majority on this thread) that picked EHS, sometimes by a wide margin, for adding fuel to the fire
  5. I completely agree with you (almost), and I think that you make some excellent points. Both teams, as in inevitable throughout a season, are banged up, and MBA has done an excellent job of overcoming the the adversity of two QB changes. Fletcher has a great leg, and Lassing is undoubtedly the best player on the team, and has carried MBA on several occasions. I also agree that MBA has a slight edge in the passing game. On all of these things I agree with you. I will put in my two cents in addition, I think that MBA and other teams are more suited to a long season with more injuries because of their relatively deep roster. As stated in another post, EHS only has about 50 players to MBA's 80 something. EHS may have a great starting 22, but throughout the game with long sustained drives, I think that having so many players (especially on the lines) going both ways will come back to bite the tigers. MBA seems to be able to sub people in for players like Lassing, Tanner, and Bars, while EHS has many 2-way players that dont have backups that can compete at a high enough level. Thus far, I havent seen many serious score predictions, so I'll give mine, but feel free to disagree: MBA:31 EHS:28
  6. 1. Thanks for clearing it up. Good thing you did that, now no one will ever mention it again. 2. Again, thanks for ending that rumor forever. 3. I can deal with that. 4. Whoops. You must have forgotten that over 60% of the English language is based on Latin. Do you speak English? Latin has also been established as an extremely beneficial course, especially in the field of vocabulary, for several hundred years. 5. So do you think that people just leave out the classes that they do well in when reporting their GPA in applications? You are right, however, I don't have the authority to speak definitively on this subject, do you? 6. Facts are relative. It is a fact that those rumors are out there. 7. Thanks, I enjoyed it. 8. That's probably because you did personally attack me. "It is sad that you have to make posts like you did because you can't fathom that Ensworth is beating your team in nearly every sport. Grow up." (Words can hurt you know). You seemed personally attacked when I didn't attack anything, but I felt attacked when I was-what's the word? Oh yeah- personally attacked. You make some good points, though it may still be arguable. I do think, however, that the success of the school cannot be determined in such a short period of time. That was just an open question, and I don't necessarily disagree with you. Witty spiteful comment.
  7. Several things: 1. a thirty minute drive does not mean a recruit 2. bringing up Bowers' kids is dodging the real question by simply putting out a smarta** answer 3. Why did you bring up slave quarters and plantation when I said there was a rumor about a 1 or more players living with him and nothing of race. on a side note it is things like this that make me made; when someone says something perfectly innocent, and someone else twists it and turns it into racism (not to bring up an old subject but the alleged MBA chants at last years basketball game) I believe that when people let racism screen their view of everything, it is time for that someone to look themselves in the mirror. 4. MBA offers modern languages because a substantial number of people speak them, and can be incredibly useful later in life. 5. Yes, MBA does offer things like sppech, choir, and jazz band, but these things DO NOT count towards one's cumulative GPA. 6. It is sad that you have orange glasses on and cant see that I am merely presenting some of the arguments, and when you see something that you dont agree with, it seems that you feel personally attacked. 7. I have no horse in the race, so to assume that I said the things that I said because I "can't fathom that Ensworth is beating your team in nearly every(really??) sport" is laughable in its own right. 8. You don't know me, and you don't know my opinions, and apparently you can't read an entry that merely presents facts without seeing it as an attack on your school. Don't tell me to grow up when it appears someone is still learning to use the potty. On a separate note, and I'm not saying that I disagree with you, but you mention that "Ensworth is a great school" and I was just wondering on what grounds are they a great school? They really haven't proven themselves consistantly strong due to their young age, and they have had two graduating classes, who won't have the chance to prove themselves for years. Sure, they have tons of money and a great campus, but I was just wondering how it has been able to prove itself a "great school" while it has yet to have any alumni graduate from college?
  8. Probably because EHS is not an all boys school. I have some qualms about the diverse hometowns of the EHS athletes. Knowing many of the EHS people, it seems like only the athletes come from all over to the school. But a common complaint heard from MBA is that EHS operates like many colleges, and while this may sound harmless, we must bear in mind that neither EHS, nor MBA, nor any other school in the division or the country actually is a college. It seems, at the very least to MBA fans, that EHS has become a school centered around sports, fueled by rumors (I dont know if they're true) that one or more of the players lives with Bowers, one of them had to sit out last season because he couldnt read, and other University of Alabama-esque complaints. This goes along with some of the classes offered that actually count towards a student's cumulative GPA, such as Sign Language and Dancing for Athletes(yes it's an actual class). Such classes bring to memory several years ago when the Georgia basketball coach had a class for basketball players with tests that had questions such as: how many halves are in a basketball game, how many points are awarded for a three pointer, and how many players can be on the court for a team at one time. It seems to many that EHS is a high school treating their sports teams in a collegiate manner, and whether one believes it or not, such a program would not be acceptable at the high school level.
  9. I dont think that anyone is doubting that MBA looked bad in the first matchup, but I think the main point made by those on this thread (including myself) who support MBA is that MBA has matured and drastically improved since the first meeting, and EHS, from what I've seen, is much the same team, and maybe a little worse for wear.
  10. coming from the guy (bradley hardcastle) who offers no logical reasoning behind his predictions, but instead says things like MBA players dont want to play EHS again, they want out of the season, and their confidence level is at zero, and, from talking to the players, this couldnt possibly be further from the truth.
  11. Let's all bear in mind that hdcastle is a junior at EHS, and a manager for the football team
  12. So, just to get this straight: EHS will score more even though MBA has a completely new defense with a new secondary that has proven itself as, if not stout, competent, and they have their 300 lb noseguard back. AND MBA will score less even though their QB will probably not break his neck in the middle of the game (and that undoubtedly has an enormous effect on the team on both sides of the ball), and their offense is clicking and palying extremely well with the new QB #2. AND #74 will wreck MBA's night even though MBA's OLine came out superior to EHS's DLine in the first matchup, and #74 had mediocre stats. Now that that's cleared up, why did you put quotation marks around MBA? But please try to sound like more of a jerk, people love it.
  13. a little hasty, eh? just like the MBA that played BGA was different the second time around, so it will be in this rematch. MBA completely redesigned its defense since last time, and they are playing quite well. Thinking back to the first game, one thing that, to me at least, was conspicuous was EHS's mediocre defense, MBA's QB, a team leader and brother to the other 80 guys, broke his neck and they still put up 29 on EHS. True, EHS has very potent offense, and Darkwa had his way in the first game, but so did BGA's Moore at MBA's homecoming. I know, Darkwa is probably better than Moore, but the change in yardage (285-55) is conspicuous. I think this will be an incredible game with an absurd amount of emotion. I dont know who will win this one
  14. It seems like it's a tossup as to whether the good or bad side of the MBA D is on display every friday nights
