  1. Not so sure the Chargers will lose to Sequatchie Co. I think the Chargers are improving each week, but I don't expect them to beat Alcoa. Reagrdless, I'd take a 6-4 or 7-3 record this year with their schedule, over a 9-1 or 10-0 record with the schedule they had the last couple of years. I think It will pay off come playoff time. Couldn't agree more Buc. 7-3 team with a real schedule to me is far better than 9-1 with cupcakes. Adversity makes ones will grow stronger or fall apart. I think we have responded well after the smacking Polk laid on us. A battle tested team with a few losses is a better team than an unproven 9-1 team. Go Blue!!! In reality, the buttwhipping laid on the Chargers by Polk was a blessing in disguise. I think it awakened the players, and got them to finally buy into this new coaching staff. Central certainly has one of the state's toughest schedules, and they will be (as you say) "battle-tested" when playoff time rolls around.
  2. Honestly, i dont know, like i said before we are better than average, but we cant get our kids to play hard every week. We have some talented recievers that want the ball every play, and our off. just isnt geared to throw every down(like Soddy) so they are having trouble wrapping their mind around that. We have a young rb that reads the news paper to much and thinks if he has one good week , that it will be automatic every week. But here goes my picks as of today. BC 28 SD 21 , BC 28 MC 10, BC 10 O 7, BC 48 WV 10 If and only if the kids will play hard and execute. If not we loose to sd, ooltewah, i dont think MC or WV can beat us. But opinions are like butt holes , everybodys got one and they all stink. It's good to be optimistic, but you need to be "realistic" at the same time.
  3. No way the Bears beat McMinn or Ooltewah......that just won't happen. Even "if" they beat Soddy (which I don't think they will), your prediction of 6-4 would be correct. Of course, that's assuming they beat Walker Valley, which is a terrible team.

  5. yeah the truth hurts...first round loss every year seems like....but hey, central is getting to the first round!!! are the chargers overrated? they were humbled by polk co and the offense has struggled (except for the running game the last few weeks)....don't know if i would call them overrated....is seq ever going to get over the hump? i would call them overrated To be very blunt and honest, in general, most all teams from the former Region 3 (Central, Polk, Meigs, etc.) are overrated if they're ranked in the top 10......until they prove otherwise.
  6. How have your CHEFS done in the playoffs lately?????? In any sport?????????? But i guess someone has to be the doormat. I think the best football team Sequoyah ever had was last year, and they finished with a losing record.
  7. Another team from Bradley County, and another can of whoop-#### opened on them by Ooltewah. Bradley Central, the Owls know you fear playing them.....but you're going to have to.
  8. Maybe they're brothers and cousins? Never can tell about you folks over the river. Gee, and that comment came from someone living in Rhea County? I remember some tough, hard fought games between these two team in the late 80's when Coach Horton and Coach Mullinax were the coaches.
  9. Jeff Hall: One of the finest young men I ever had the privilege of meeting when he was at UT! After meeting his parents, I understood why Jeff turned out the way he did.
  10. It will be a very close game............until kickoff. Central can name their score in this one.
  11. I believe some of you people actually believe this!
  12. This will be a very close game..................................until kickoff!
  13. You're just seeing the typical Bradley fan - year in and year out. They can never admit that a team lined up and whipped their butts.....especially those lard butted players they have. I'm surprised they haven't pulled out the old "refs beat us" mantra they like to use so much. We've been trying to tell these Bradley folks for weeks the only worthy team they played was Polk, who also whipped their tail at Bradley Stadium. Now that they're about to get into the meat of their schedule - which started with Loudon - you'll watch Bradley's normal and expected descent, losing about 3 more games. But never fear, next August it will be a new Bradley team, whom these Bear fans will convince themselves will run the table! Check back then for some hysterical posts! really? I must have missed something since when did the Bears get "whipped" as you say yet???hmmm and as far as politics it's at every school. Bradley lost to two different teams AT HOME to schools half their size. Maybe "moral losses" make you folks feel good, but a loss is a loss. Yes, every school has some politics......but none of them are remotely close to the decades-long problems of Bradley County. Look at the wonderful coaches Bradley has already had......men who have proven themselves to be excellent coaches at other places. But at Bradley - one of the largest schools in east Tennessee - they failed. That alone should tell you there have been, and still are, serious problems there.
  14. Bradley's problems go far beyond certain parents. The entire political machine in Bradley Co. (County Commissioners, School Board Members, and influential people. Bradley has had some good coaches who are good men. Ever wonder why they don't stay there long?
  15. Your freshman QB's father told several his son would be starting before the season started. Bradley is still the same - politics and who you know.
  16. Can't believe you guys lost to Cleveland. The Blue Raiders are one of the worst teams down this way.

  18. Your picks havent been holding out to well. Bears Tied with the Owls for First place in our region. Play a few more Region games and then report where Bradley is. Beat a terrible, winless team in OT and you're bragging about being tied for first place????? Dude!
  19. Why did no one complain about the refs in the Cleveland/Central game???? Cleveland had 18 penalties,,,Did you hear anyone complaining,,,no, because the penalties were all obvious,,,so let's break down the penalties Central had.... The 3 personal fouls (Horse collar, roughing the holder, roughing the passer) ?? The 3 unsportsmanlikes (two late hits and your coach slinging his headset at a refs feet)? The 3 delay of games (those are pretty obvious) as are the 4 false starts,,, and 1 illegal substitution,,you know breaking the huddle with 12 is kind of hard to miss.. Let's see that's 14 that are obvious penalties out of the 17,,,, Don't forget the offensive pass interference where the WR shoved the DB to the ground. (That's 15) And I remember 1 holding call, that's 16 out of the 17, and there was one Block in the Back on a kick-off. The point is, out of 17 penalties, 15 of them were blatant,,,It's not like the refs were throwing mysterious "Holding" penalties in the middle of the line everytime Central did something good,,,, Or are you upset about the refs putting 6 seconds back on the clock? You really think 6 seconds at the end of the half made a 37 point difference,,,???? Pretty good breakdown for someone who's a Cleveland fan and was going to the Cleveland/Bradley game. Hmmmm.......
  20. This is a hard one to pick because you don't know which respective team will show up. Neither team is as bad as they've played in one of their games this year, and each team has played exceptionally well in one of their games. I predicted WV would have the worst record of the three inept Bradley County teams......yet they by far have the most talent and potential. Central is playing a tough schedule this year, and I thought they would go about 6-4. Due to Central losing this past Friday, and WV upsetting Rhea Co., I'm going to go with Central in a close one.
  21. Honestly.... thats all I read of your post. You may have taken up for him later but that kid played his hind end off tonight. The truth is that hes playing with a tailback who lost his moves...receivers who cant get open/catch...and a line that just cant block.....without him were 0-10 this year. Congratulations to Chris Johnson...he's becoming one of my new favorite players...Definitely not the biggest or fastest but gives it all hes got every time he touches the football. and nobody cares about your opinion bradley....have fun being relevant for a season or two....dont you have some sort of basketball thread to be talking on? The words Bradley Central and releveant shouldn't be used in the same sentence. Bradley is 1-1....losing to a school about a 1/4 the size of Bradley, and beating the worst Cleveland team in history in overtime Friday. Once again, Bradley will be 5-5 at best, watching the playoffs again.......and will be running their mouths next August.
  22. Bradley won the game in overtime......which proves my point that Bradley is as terrible as Cleveland is. You, nor ANYONE else would back up your talk with any money. If you had, you'd have won some money from me......so I can find humor in your anguish over that. I'm still not sure how good Polk is, but I can give credit where it's due as far as Friday night's emotional victory over Central. Congratulations! Very happy to see Meigs win, though they're still not a good team. Walker Valley's victory was a shocker to me....not that I'm a Mustang fan. Might be interesting determining who's the worst in Bradley County if WV beats Bradley, then loses to Cleveland.
  23. Well stated, OSC. For the fans, the game is merely entertainment and bragging rights for a year. It's not life. The outcome won't add a penny to my paycheck. The outcome isn't anything that I can add to my resume' or portfolio. And when I stand before God someday (as all of us will), he could care less if my team won or lost. Both teams are coached by fine men.....Christian men. Let's be thankful these young men have role-models such as these molding them into men who will someday be civic-minded leaders in their community. I'll be there tomorrow night to enjoy the fierce competition......and will be happy afterwards, regardless of who wins.
  24. Just to let you guys know SgtEagleFort did play at Polk but it was only mop up duty on Monday nights. He couldn't handle Polks physical practices and quit his junior year. When he was on the team he was known as an ERW (Eat - the team meal, Ride - the team bus, & Watch from the sidelines). If he played as tough as he talks he would have been all state. So Central fans keep this in mind when he gats on here and starts running off at the mouth. We all look forward to a good hard fought game Friday night! Someone else sent me a message saying just about the same thing about ol' Sarge, but I wanted to be nice and not mention it and embarass him on this board. Bless his heart, I guess he just needs attention. Let's keep him in our prayers! The game should be a typical hard-hitting one. Nothing like close-by teams battling for community pride and bragging rights for a year!
