  1. Cool post . . . I don't think he'll make a difference in the district standings JMO why're you worried about since forrest inst in cornersville's region?
  2. The forrest coaches do have enthusiasm, forrest is now down to their "core" ball players, they are playing good baseball and need support, as for the catcher position....it has been filled for now, the best thing for the team is for everyone to forget what happened and worry about winning baseball games and hopefully have district tourney at home this year. .
  3. Micah Phifer got a scholarship to play at martin methodist in 08, seth brothers got a scholarship to play at motlow state in 09, colin henson would've gotten one had it not been for the fact of being a great football player which he now plays for carson-newman for football.
  4. Forrest's baseball coaches are good coaches and no one should "dog" them, all the coaches have deep backgrounds in baseball and know the game very well, when I said "something is up" I wasn't referring to the coaches, more than likely the kids/parents have an issue. However I disagree with fact that there hasn't been many good baseball players since minor left because there has been many collegiate athletes after the 06 team (minors year). That team just many GREAT players clustered together, minor of course is a phenomenal pitcher along with ben skelley who threw high eighties as a number two, along with six out of seven seniors who got scholarships to play baseball, yes they were loaded and yes they overshadow the recent teams but I disagree with your statement saying that forrest has not had good ball players.
  5. Forrest has a new kid on football team, his name is Taylor Schoenberger, he hasn't played football since peewee, but he is a very good athlete and being that football is a sport that someone can "grasp" quick he will most likely be an asset to the '10 rockets, being that he'll be a senior he will have to work very hard mentally and physically to meet the demands of high school football, he is a good athlete with good size and capability and there is no doubt in my mind that he'll turn out to be a good football player.
  6. There has been many contraversial events surrounding the forrest baseball team and coaches, 10 players have quit/kicked off this season, which signifies that something is up, regardless of what happened so far this season the kids/coaches need to forget it and go out and win baseball games. Good luck against cascade next week. Try not to get jumped :/
  7. Forrest is a great school filled with great students, I, myself would just like people to know that we are not a bunch of punks looking for a fight, yes there is some bad apples in the "forrest high school apple tree" but chapel hill is also a great town filled great people, I'm sure cascade, mcewen, forrest and probably every other school in Tennessee have some rambunctious kids that get angered easily. We as a town and school have a dark cloud over us now, and I do not want the 6-7 students to be the reflection of chapel hill/forrest. Yes Nathan Bedford Forrest is who our school is named after and yes he was a confederate general and yes he started the ku klux klan, but that doesn't mean anything. As for cascade/forrest rivalry, cascade11 stated it perfectly, I thought it was unclassy for cascades cheerleaders to do that, but then again our cheerleaders would probably do the same. I cheered for cascade when they played Clarksville and had that crazy point streak. I'm sorry that people think what they do about our school/town, but people will always have speculations about everything. I'm sorry that our students acted that way but they are KIDS.
  8. rockets7, lets just say it it sounds like an unfortunate incident and if a McEwen fan/student made that comment that is totallu unaccepatble and cannot be tolerated. Agreed, people are crazy, when it comes to fights and stuff of that nature, few people know the the true story due to exaggerations and such. It's something that should be forgotten. Hopefully I'll be able to get off work and watch McEwen/Clarksville game, should be good. The following is what happened according to the East Robertson administration who I have spoken to: two young men from Forrest/Marshall County were escorted from the gym, one of them being African American. The administration and law enforcement escorted them from the building and watched them leave the parking lot. They were not parked anywhere near the pep bus for McEwen but in the front of the school. At some point they chose to return and went to the area of the pep bus and players bus for McEwen which was in a very different area. They then began a back and forth with the pep bus and attacked an adult and one minor. Several people joined in the ordeal and the pep bus did clear to stop the 5-6 on 1 attack taking place. At that point two Marshall County/Forrest fans were taken into custody while the others scattered. A Humphreys County school van was also vandalized. Again, this is the account from the East Robertson adminstration. I am in no way condoning any name calling by any McEwen fan and that should be dealth with accordingly as well. However, if you are asked to leave and you return and seek out a confrontation, that is not very smart. No matter what words were exchanged there can be no excuse for attacking another person and that would tend to be corroborated by the fact that two Marshall County/Forrest individuals were taken into custody. All the way around just more examples of how crazy people have gotten.
  9. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again, good luck to McEwen the rest of the year.
  10. Sorry folks, I worded that statement in an "unclassy" form, for one thing the Forrest students were walking to the concession stand when a rude remark was made toward an African American Forrest student, the student remarked back, then pushing and shoving proceeded, a middle aged grown man from McEwen then tried to fight one of the students, no one pulled a knife, and no one was ejected..........after the game the same African American Forrest student was walking to his car when McEwen's pep bus made derogatory statements toward him, he walk over to the bus, a grown man got off the bus and called him a dumb ni$$@r, pushing and shoving happened, McEwen's bus cleared then brawl took place. The reason cascade was cheering for McEwen is because cascade/forrest have somewhat of a heated rivalry. It's unacceptable for both teams fans, yet I find it hard to believe that six Forrest students took a bus full of people and a grown man, furthermore no one in their right mind would try to fight a bus full of people so I find it hard to believe that Forrest started the fight.
  11. hopefully moore county will be ready to go come season time, its hard changing coaches even though the season is still far away.
  12. did anyone hear about the brawl that took place after the game, i heard that mckewen's bus driver started the brawl, is this true? i also heard forrest won haha.
  13. How did it work out? Are they interested? This is an exciting chance for Raiders and Bobcats to come together. Does anyone know the probability of this actually happening, I'm a Forrest parent and our schedule has Richland on it, would we have an open week then or would we play Giles co. I sure hope not!
  14. Looking forward to the Forrest/Jo byrns scrimmage in august. Does anyone know if montgomery central will be in it like last year.?
  15. I think the talent pool has dropped everywhere, cascade lost 16 seniors, forrest lost 19 seniors, moore county had a young team last year and could be a possible contender, 1.Forrest/Cascade 2.Cascade/Forrest 3.Moore Co. 4.Eagleville 5.Mtcs 6.Huntland 7.Community
  16. haha buddy very funny, the forrest boys played mostly 3a teams and DII schools during the regular season opposed from district teams. we will do exactly like football, yall talk crap, we back it up, the stands will rockin, bring a bunch of people cause your going to need it cause forrest's student section will rip you apart. and so will the bball boys, hope its a good game.
  17. it'll be hard for cascade to win in the forrest gym, being that forrest has the loudest, meanest student section ever it should be a huge factor, bleachers should be full tonight, good luck to both teams, but i think forrest will pull it out, of the horses rear, good game tonight!!!
  18. I hope Jo byrns makes it back to state, they are a fun bunch to watch, go red devils.
  19. When you hear that snap of the helmet turn it on, go out and be heros. Goodluck tonight we are all behind you.
  20. Not underestimating you.. just don't see where ya'll are getting these inflated egos.. I guess 9-1 record with a #8 state ranking will do that... It's never a good idea to look at schedules to determine outcome of games, but in some cases, such as this, there is simply no other means to compare teams. Forrest is 9-1 with a schedule that has 2 teams above .500. Forrest's opponents were all Class A and combined for a 37-61 record. Marion's schedule has 6 teams above .500. Marion's opponents included Class A, Class AA and Class AAA teams with a combined record of 59 - 41... I can't see where Forrest has been tested in the way that Marion has.. Even if they had a "bad" game against Cascade, on paper they still haven't beaten anyone or proven anything... Aside from Cascade, name me anyone on Forrest's schedule that can match up with South Pitt (most likey 1A Champion), Boyd Buc (Serious contender for 2A Champion), Signal Mtn (Potential 2A Championship contended if it wasn't for Boyd being in their way) and Bledsoe Co (Hosting Class 3A playoff game this week)... It's easy to be 9-1 if your schedule is soft... Marion has a lot of work to do to win this game but like I said before... if we hold onto the ball and don't give Forrest a short field all night long, we win this game by 21 or more... well if you look at this way Mtcs from district 9 who Forrest beat 37-7 has a first round bye. the way tssaa is you can't really judge much on playoff seeding. after all there's a 1-9 team that made the playoffs in 5 or 6A i'm not sure. another note is that Forrest can't help that their region is weak... also its harder for your other opponets to have a good record when you beat them all go rockets
  21. Pretty amusing that you SM folks have already beaten Cascade and waiting on the Boyd/Marion winner. Keep the bulletin board material coming there, Doofus. Hey c11 I got a feeling they are underestimating district 9. Represent!
  22. The stadium is pretty nice, visitor side is decently big, home side is big, the concession food is pretty good, we have a mexican restuarant in front of the school, and a sonic down the road, pretty good atmosphere but the stands are far away from the field, it is supposed to seat 5,000 but I'm not sure if that is true, overall a nice facility.
  23. Various formations, mostly a pro set, offense isn't very balanced, tendency to run alot more than pass.
  24. Good luck rockets, have a good week of practice, get it done.
  25. I love rocky top, plus Forrest runs out to it, it's pretty cool.
