I don’t know if you guys knew Coach Wilson got hit by a player toward the end of the scrimmage last week. Hurt one of his legs. He’ll have surgery Monday so remember him in your prayers.

Great game last night. It was a full on game atmosphere with cheerleaders. Only thing missing was a halftime show. I think our boys looked sharper than last week. Better tackling and better running. Decent passing/receiving. I’d like to see our qb have a little more time in the pocket. But overall a good performance. And when the clean uniforms hit the field in the last quarter we looked sharp again.

I overheard some of our boys talking about how good it would be to see Coach Wilson. I informed them he is indeed a friend of South Pittsburg....until kick off.

I can’t believe I just did 50 pages of catching up just to discuss boxing.

Roy. Peg leg is doing great. He’s recuperating at his son’s house. And I saw that Troll man today too. He looked real spiffy in his uniform.

My earlier prediction that we would win by only three or four TDs was because of the rivalry and because I just couldn't believe that Jasper was that down. If you take away all our mistakes we would have won by ten TDs. We have four weeks to get ready for Whitwell - we'll need them.

Everyone is encouraged to wear black tonight. Personally, I'd rather wear orange, but I'll go with black. Weather looks like it will be great, so no excuses for either team. I hate that Nelson won't be playing - he's a good kid and a great athlete, but that might leave room for Tipton to stay on the sidelines and get totally healed. If Jasper was not such a rivalry I feel like we could easily mercy rule them, but I think the rivalry will limit us to a three or four TD win.

I can't argue with this. Nothing wrong with supporting your team. I look for a good game.

Rumor has it Vic was gonna send out a Red Bull-powered drone to hunt for you, but no need now. On a sadder note - a great Pirate running back of yesteryear, Ronnie Mitchell, passed away.

I just heard from the TSSAA. They observe state law - the TSSAA has no policy of its own concerning drones. State law says that a visiting team must have the permission of the home school.

My understanding is that the one at the SC vs MC game was operated by a local sports network. When Jasper found out about it they ordered it brought down - sort of in the same line of thinking that caused media passes to not be honored at the jamboree. As far as SPHS - they don't have an operator for it, and have not actively pursued finding one. As far as I know the only ruling concerning drones is that it is still solely up to the home school.

As far as our starters are concerned they need to get another full game under their belt before facing Jasper.

Agreed. Vic needs to nip this in the bud. This is the same thing that kept Tim's team from winning a state championship. As far as Boyd - Grant Reynolds would never have allowed that.

That Riley man what runs the local paper started begging me to come back about six months ago, and I finally relented. I must admit I missed taking pictures. But now I won't get to sit in that new pressbox with that new heat pump/schmeat pump. And someday you're gonna have to give me a lesson on how to post pictures.
