  1. I just happened to be right there to hear what he said. No cussing, but the refs had no trouble figuring out how he felt. And when Vic got through the rail birds let 'em have it.
  2. Did Boyd ever get a bonafide coach? The last I heard that Rodriguez man was the "interim" coach they hired in July.
  3. Is anything special planned for the first home game with the new trimmings?
  4. A little off topic, but on my way to Dunlap last Friday, going through Whitwell, that’s one of the hardest rains I’ve ever driven through. I really figured both our games would be cancelled.
  5. Whitwell showed us what can be done to Boyd on a wet field. Imagine what we can do on a home dry field.
  6. I look for our young backs to show out tonight if the field is dry enough. We have enough backs to keep SC on their heels. And if the weather permits I think Sanders will get a chance to air it out. The combination will keep SC defense guessing. I don't look for SC runners to get past our defense. The main think I hope for is that no one will break into my truck like they did two years ago.
  7. I don’t feel right making a comment on a site that Roy didn’t start.
  8. The field seemed to hold up, so maybe Mathis won't have to repair much. Nor did I see a lot of slipping and sliding - maybe there weren't a lot of turned ankles. SP seemed adequate at best. I'm allowing for some sandbagging by all teams, but Grundy seemed hungry. I sure do hope SP was sandbagging their passing game.
  9. I'm supposing at this point that the games will be played, rain or shine, wet field sustaining.
  10. Oh my goodness. I went back and re-read Sailor's post - no, I only have a list of the SP vs MC games. Sorry. I guess I instinctively thought of the only really important games - the ones against Jasper.
  11. I've got probably the same list you have. From an old website called High School Football Database. I just checked it and it appears to be a paid site now. I printed off my copy in 2010. It goes back to 1924, but the only ones missing are 1945, 1947, 1948, and 1954 - for those it says No Game. There are scores for all the other games, but I don't know how correct they are. I'll bring you a copy to the Jamboree if you want.
  12. Pegleg…..I'm starting to think my mom was Roy Dillard.
  13. One of our Pirates lost his mom yesterday. Prayers for the Walters family.

  15. I have many friends in VB and they simply don't care about starting up a football team. They focus on basketball and archery and it has served them well.
  16. This will definitely be a slobber knocker. There will be some gnashing of teeth between those two lines. I feel like our defense will be too much for Greenback, and our offense has more weapons than they can handle. I give the nod to the Pirates.
  17. I haven't heard anything about a bus. Pegleg might fly you up. He might let you hold his joystick while he looks at Murphy's pole.
  18. Women....can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em.
  19. Thank goodness Roy's back. Now I can go to sleep.
