Perhaps this has already been addressed, but when was the last time (if ever) that all three schools made it to the quarterfinals? Has Whitwell ever made it to semifinals?

For what it's worth....Whitwell for the season 525-63, with 5 shutouts, and 1 loss. South Pittsburg 541-98, with 4 shutouts, and no losses. Of note is that SP shut out their last two opponents. Whitwell was scored on by their last two opponents. Neither team has played anyone better than each other. Of note is that Whitwell beat Trousdale by only 3 points, whereas Jasper beat Trousdale by 18 points....and we beat Jasper by a bunch. There's no doubt this game will boil down to who makes the fewest mistakes, who wants it most, and who coaches best. At this point I'd say it's SP's to lose.

I predicted a Mercy Rule for the CA game. Maybe I got lucky. I certainly am not predicting a Mercy Rule for this game. I'm thinking this will be a low-scoring tight game with a one-TD advantage going to the Pirates.

Yeah, I got too caught up in the 'lection. I read most of the threads but didn't post. But the important thing is you missed me....you really missed me.

This has been an interesting read. A few points...(1) Drunken Sailor is my hero. (2) It was #16 on Fayettville's team who wasn't on the roster. (3) Grider and his staff is second to none. (4) If CA still had that tall Thompson boy it might make a difference....but they don't. (5) We don't need a lot of time on the field to score a lot of points. (6) Your combined scores against Whitwell totaled 41 points. We totaled 50 in one game. (7) You beat Cornersville 25-12. We beat them 62-12. (8) Fayettville scored 32 points on you. We skunked them 42-0. (9) Some of our biggest blowouts came with some of our best guys on the sideline. Those guys are healed and up to speed. I just feel like my 42-14 prediction might be a little conservative. If we play a complete game it could be a mercy-rule finish. Nonetheless, I pray for a good clean injury-free game.

An ambulance had to come take care of Harvey a while ago. Low blood sugar seemed to be the problem. Send up a prayer for him.
