  1. I watched Grace walk down the steps last year vs. Hampton with a little too much confidence. I looked in their eyes as they walked past me, they thought they had that game in the bag. Hey, GCA was ranked #2,3 or 4 in the state (can't remember exactly). Hampton THUMPED us and sent us to the locker room to read all the "hype" and "rankings" that night with a loss. Don't allow that to happen this week. You won't find a bigger supporter than this one. However, Grace had better prepare hard for THIS game. Harriman has the "revenge" factor in their favor. Come out ready to play RAMS! Stay focused, and disciplined. RAM PRIDE!
  2. I remember you're coach taking exception when Midway tacked on a late TD. The game was not a 65 point blowout. You do have to treat playoff games differently, but my guess is when you are up 40 to 0 ,you've got the game in hand. When Grace was so pitiful, several teams let up early. Do any of you deny throwing the ball deep against Taft with 3 minutes to go in the game. I saw it with my own 2 eyes. I've watched quite a bit of you're games this season. Its quite possible if you guys get by Harriman that SP may rub you're nose in the ground. They can be pretty explosive. Its easy to see that Grace is loaded with money and has desided to build a top notch program, I'm sure its going to be accomplished. When you have the Knoxville area as a drawing pool, its really not that hard. I have absolutely nothing against private schools or their mission, but once you get fully established, you are going to be playing below you're level. You can easily see you are making much bigger strides tham all the small publics around you. You are not there yet ,but you will be. I don't deny throwing the ball with 3 mins to go against Taft, I just can't confirm it right now. The game videos are down until after the playoffs, I was trying to confirm your allegation. I can confirm that if we did throw it late in the 4th qtr, it was with our 2nd string QB #14. I was at the game and watched every minute, we pulled our starters in the 2nd half, not sure exactly what point they were pulled, but Hopkins wasn't in at the point you are referring to.
  3. A one game thing means nothing to me, it takes several games to see how a team is on a normaL basis. Grace played 4 games this year against some pretty tough teams. CAK is on another level, they handled both Rockwood and TP by a desent margin. Johnson Co would have been the other one, Johnson Co had 6 turnovers and still outgained Grace, went for 2 instaed of the extra point because they were on the road, sort of a rule on the road. Everything I see says Hampton is the better team. Guess we'll find out Friday night. GOOOOOOOOOOOOODAWGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Pujo, you called the Johnson County game, they were a hard nosed team. We were out sized, they had several advantages on size (being a larger school). The call to go for two was brilliant, I told the guy next to me that there's no way we could stop a 2pt play, we played it well and blew it up. As for GCA beating Tellico and Rockwood, I hope they both had their worst games of the year and we were lucky to catch them both looking forward to their next game.........I hope Rockwood lays the "wood" and brings home a victory, gotta stick with the District. Good Luck Tigers, I hope you don't need it, use your SKILL instead!
  4. Is it not a little odd for grown men to "heckle" 15, 16 and 17 year old boys? Heckling happens by all the powerhouse state championship progam contenders all the time...Trousdale County does it all the time to, ask Tim Starkey...I know that from just having our guys play up there...It is part of the game And for the record, I do not take part in it but, I love the idea of getting into the minds of the opposing players, its called psyche and its all apart of HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE!!! powerp, Tell your boys, if we both make it, that they won't have to worry about the heckling at GCA. I think that is so redneck and should be policed. They are high school kids. I listened at Greenback as our team was "heckled" on the fence, and I can't and wouldn't repeat what was said on this website or in person. Rednecks have their place, they're just not welcome at Disneyworld. And I hope, you guys don't condone that as well, at The Pitt.
  5. First of all we do like to raise some HE** and get our team pumped, If you dont like it close your ears or come on over, im positive we will be standing there. If But we dont call the boys names or anything out of the way that are on the field we just try to distract em and throw them off a little.youve ever played ball then you know what i mean cause it happens every game no matter who youre playing or where at.........So dont give me the no lip crap cause youll be on OUR turf and we will YELL, HOLLAR, RAISE HECK OR ANYTHING ELSE WE WANNA DO!!!!!!!! Just hope both teams play to the best of there abilities and injury free is the main thing. DDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWGGGGGGGSSSSSS That's more like it, with what was said earlier, it sounded like you guys were yelling AT players and saying derogatory things to them (like Greenback did to our guys 2 weeks ago). That doesn't seem to be the case here. Yelling for your team from the fence and not calling out a WR that's standing right in front of you is acceptable, and shouldn't be considered poor sportsmanship. The "no lip" statement was made because Hampton didn't get ANY heckling while at GCA. Our administration will not stand for that type of behavior and will call you out on it if it occurs. Good luck to both teams, hope District 3 prevails. Didn't mean to crash your board, just get fired up when someone is on the fence "firing up" their team in the wrong way, you know what I mean?
  6. RAMS better not listen to all this chatter. Harriman is coming up here to clean your clock this time around and every one of you better be prepared for it. Don't let any of these posts get in your heads, you are not good enough to just put on the silver and blue and have the other team bow down to you. Play hard every snap, send a message for your next opponent to think about! RAM PRIDE!!!!!
  7. It will be tough for the Tigers to travel that far and bring home a win........heard that one before guys????? Balogna! You guys can and will go up there and play as hard as you played last week, and hopefully it will be enough!!!! Go Tigers, let's get 2 District 3 teams in the semi's. As for the "fence" crew, if you are truly heckling high school kids, that's just wrong. It's the biggest redneck move you could make. I saw it a couple of weeks ago at Greenback, its truly a shame it happens, and only seems to happen in small school football. I guess its a small "community" thing. Good luck with that. Don't give me any lip either, you didn't see it last year when you visited GCA, take a lesson.
  8. Rufus, you are correct. They did the same thing to Oakdale last year and then stated how they were working on things and it really wasn't running up the score etc. This time though, I think the Grace people may have been reading Footballer, ShockerO and Ole Tiger who led their team down this path of embarassment. When they let their words overload what I think is a pretty good team, bad things will happen. These kids, the coaches and the school and community did not and do not deserve to be disrespected and these "3 wise men" have done a disservice to everyone associated with the Sunbright Football Program. In part, these village idiots are responsible for the beat down inflicted Friday and the embarassment that resulted. Anyone who knows who these people are should make sure they understand their post are not helpful. Well first off, your guys don't know if the "3 wise men" are from Sunbright to begin with. Second of all, I agree that the 3 idiots are a disgrace to Sunbright and all involved with the game of football for that matter, but using your logic, your basically saying that your team and coaches care about what goes on on these boards and website. I'm by no means a football expert, nor do I say that I am, but if Grace wants to go farther in the playoffs and compete with the likes of South Pitt, then the coaches and players need to worry about the game at hand, not what is said on a website by the fans. Obviously it didn't matter against Sunbright, because Grace had quadruple the players as Sunbright, and had more playmakers, but playing by pure emotion like you are saying will bite you in the butt if you do not look out. If it was South Pitt, and you play by emotion alone, the first sign of a struggle will bend your players to a breaking point because of their raised emotion levels. But I wish Grace all the luck in the world in the playoffs. But I'm sorry to say, I'll be rooting for the public schools from here on out. I can't stray from my roots after all. I wouldn't expect anything else. You can join the legions that pull against Grace. I just hope these kids realize it and play with an "Us against the world" mentality. In reality, it truly is. As for the 2pt play you referred to, and the previous pass play (by the way, it was a 12-15 yard skinny post that turned into a long TD). 1st, play defense, you guys were ready to stuff the run, and we didn't run it. We had the week off, our starters played ONLY the 1st half, let them play their time and then we will play backups. 2nd, I agree that this 2pt play was over the top, and it was a called play. I don't have an answer for that, just an apology. 3rd, I don't think our team plays and schemes according to what is said on this board or others. We've taken our beatings in the past and the "welcome to the playoffs" beatings. Take yours and build on it. Maybe in a couple of years you guys will develop some tallent around that QB.
  9. Inman had a nice game last night. This will be much tougher the 2nd time. If our guys play as inspired and focused as they were last night, GCA could go much deeper in the playoffs. One game at a time. Did anyone notice on the highlights last night that their QB is still pitching the ball to a back, then turning and leading the back thru the hole? He did that some in our first matchup.
  10. Nice job matrix, I've edited my post as well, the post is gone. Post all you want, let's just keep GCA #1 on the field and in our posts.
  11. They don't get to me, we just don't need anymore fuel to the fire of hatred toward GCA. As for your prediction, I was anticipating that one I like how you Roane County boys stick together. One thing is certain......A District 3 team will make it to the semi's and if Rockwood keeps the dogs off their heels, there will be 2 District 3 teams in the semis. Good luck, stop the run and you guys win.
  12. Please don't let one bad apple, who we're not even sure he's associated with GCA or not, set the example for our school. His post was disrespectful and a moderator should kick him off the boards.
  13. Living with coaches? This is not true, sounds like sour grapes, which we've heard from OleTiger all year. As for the "showboating", there wasn't any. We had one of our players, IMMEDIATELY after the hit, running down the sideline getting the bench pumped up on a great LEGAL hit. AS SOON AS WE SAW THAT THE PLAYER WAS HURT, he immediately took a knee, as did our entire team, and gave the kid a nice ovation when he got up. Don't start trying to tear down GCA, they were excellent sports and gave the Sunbright team respect.
  14. That's Ok Mike, I like the talk, just like you guys, we like to defend our team. How is the Gordonsville game going to go, do they have a chance?
  15. #1 Its the "MERCY RULE" and you should be thankful tonight that the TSSAA put the rule in effect. #2 Landers is right, should GCA and South Pitt survive next week, the game will be at GCA. #3 Grace kept faking the extra point because your coaches couldn't get your players lined up properly, thus leaving gaping holes for our guys to attack. And by the way, we're quite proud of our "hodge-podge" kids from "all over Knoxville, Clinton, Oak Ridge and all over the place"......hahaha. I just hope they keep coming, without them, we wouldn't have a school.
  16. You South Pitt guys were pretty nice a few days ago, now you're on our thread trashing who we HAVE to play? (Greenback is in our district, Sunbright was in our bracket) Sunbright was a bad football team. I feel sorry for the way the score turned out. I was glad to see that our 2nd and 3rd stringers played the entire 2nd half and got to experience the playoffs. That's probably the only chance they will get this season, as the road gets tougher from here on out. Great Win RAMS. Can't wait to see Jordan's #'s and Eric's #'s tomorrow. Also, a HUGE round of applause for our offensive and defensive lines. I said is before the game, you are the guys that will take us as far as you want us to go. The skill guys can take care of the points, if the holes and protection are there. It was tonight in a huge way, nice job.
  17. Pulling for you BEARS, keep District 3 alive. Hampton will be a tough opponent, hope your kids play their best game of the season.
  18. This game will be determined by the offensive and defensive lines. If GCA can dominate the line, like we did earlier in the year, RAMS win big. I'm still very excited to see the young QB, just hope we can press and cover better than some of your opponents were able to. Grace Christian 42 Sunbright 21 RAM PRIDE!!!!
  19. District 3 rolls on in this one, Copper Basin held on against a bad Coalfield team. Good luck Blue Devils.
  20. I assume he saw our field up on the hill. That is where our new stadium will be built, and yes it does look nice up there. If we get to play, walk up and look at it, its going to be nice. Kind of sits in a valley up on the hill, should be a pretty loud place when finished. Yes that is the one. He said the goalpost even looked more modern, lol. I don't know the answer to that one, I suppose its because the posts on our current field double as soccer goals. The posts on the hill look like the came out of an NFL stadium, they are nice and have flags on top. I just hope to see us use them sometime soon. You guys remember, we're still in our infant stages of building a program. I remember 5/6 years ago watching GCA play 8 man football, and we didn't have a stadium, had to go to another high school.
  21. I assume he saw our field up on the hill. That is where our new stadium will be built, and yes it does look nice up there. If we get to play, walk up and look at it, its going to be nice. Kind of sits in a valley up on the hill, should be a pretty loud place when finished.
  22. No one responded to this? Anyone got an answer? Hey Mike, GCA has limited seating. We installed visitor's seating this year and expanded the home side. This is a "temporary" stadium, one that will become the soccer stadium in years to come. We are going to build a new football stadium on the hill, hopefully soon. To answer your question, be there early to get a seat on the visitors side or be prepared to stand. If (and its a long road for both of us to get there) we both meet for the game you are referring to, the place will be packed. The largest crowd I've ever seen was this year when CAK visited. The stadium held up great. I walked over to the visitors side during the game to visit friends, everyone seemed to be fine with standing room only. Good luck to you. Hope that helps.
  23. SEFB, your right, we scored all of our points in the 1st half. That's been our MO all year, out fast and hold on. I hope you guys play defense as well as you did in the 2nd half of our game, just play both halves that tough. Keep District 3 alive, play well, good luck, and travel safe!
  24. Thanks TigersFan for the District 3 well wishes. You can see by my posts that I feel that District 3 is one of the toughest Districts in the state to win, and that's with Greenback and Midway being down this year, its going to be really tough in years to come. As for the "recruiting" topic. I've said it before and will say it again, every "public" school has a set geographic area that if a kid lives in that area, they are required to go to a certain school. That is not the case with GCA. We don't have an area to pull from, no one is required to go to GCA. We have to rely on folks that want their children to attend a Christian school and achieve a better education in order to even have a school. We, as parents, have to make sacrifices in order for our children to attend GCA, and we do. As for our team, I can't say "all" of them have been there for years, but I can say I've seen most of them grow up in GCA. Unless we were recruiting 3rd graders, YEARS ago, I'm not sure what the accusations are about. We graduated 34 kids (in the entire high school) last year, let's play football.
