After watching the Pemberton boys for the past 5 years, it's evident this team is not the same in terms of discipline. I could not agree more with you willy1. I went to the AE game the other night just of curiosity since im a fulton man, but they were disappointing. Williamson is a good QB and safety, but presses too hard and tries to make too many plays at times. Cozart is a good player, finds the holes, but just can't break that last tackle or juke that last man. Tait is big, maybe even too big. He isn't the disruptive force he once was. Mackle is solid. Shirley is a good tough yardage back and an alright linebacker. They do make bad reads especially to the outside run... kickoffs and punt returns looked bad when the kickers didn't kick it out of the endzone. Mishu looks good. They are not the team of the past. The discipline is not there, they get unsportsman like conducts left and right, go in for the big hits and don't wrap up, and overall, they don't know the spread offense. They don't mesh. The wide recievers have never been demanded to be a prime force until this year. The offensive line looks new to pass blocking. The run blocking is okay but they aren't as fast down field as they used to be. They block the wrong people sometimes and get pushed out of the way by an above average DL/LB. When they learn to play as a team, pick up their assignments, commit to no penalties, and play as a group this is a force to be recognized. Until then they are beatable. The 3-5 is not a good look for them. They don't get the penetration of the old 5-2 and running the ball is a lot easier than it was on the old irish D. 1 safety over the top is bad news. The line backers do make bad reads and the ends cannot contain the end like they should. Just my 2 cents Good luck friday to all.
