i don't see anything wrong with going for an onside kick at that point in the game... york went for 2 earlier in the game the second one looked like york got the ball back but refs say they missed it by half a yard. there are times when a team will do something when they are up big just to work on it in game action and see what they need to work on. Congrats to livingston i mean linder lol on a great game. All i know is that game was a lot closer than the score would indicate. Big turning point came with 1.2 seconds left in the first half and linder breaks off a 70 yd td on a draw play that had york coaches been paying attention would never have happend bad clock management. York coaches must be scratching there head as to how 1 person can beat you that bad. You can't arm tackle linder that is for sure that boy has some serious skills. good luck to both teams in the playoffs!!!

i woul I would say of the 4 most likely to happen could be smith over dekalb. Not saying it will happen just most likely, I am hoping york puts up a good fight against la for a change. They are playing well but will have their hands full on thursday.

i think the kids will be more motivated to play this year than last couple... wright will have them fired up and belieinvg they can win.

don't know at this point, wonder what kind of scheme the new coaching staff will have taking over for dickie brown... hoping for a good game between these two teams

tough game last night for york. #44 looked like he played with a greased watermelon instead of a football last night. congrats to macon on the win. turnovers were costly. york had chances to score opening drive dropped pass in the endzone, 2nd half run the option ball bounces of players chest, if he hangs on to the ball he goes in a for a score instead ball gets turned over. hang in there york continue to play hard. Take your lumps this year and learn from them and use them as motivation for next season!!

was at the york game, currently york had 7 starters out with injuries and lost 3 more tonight. They are extremly young with all the injuries. This team will have a rough go at it this year. defence didn't play bad considering they were on the field most of the night. Played on a short field aside from one offensive series where they got to the white county 25. congrats to dekalb and upperman on your wins tonight.

all is quiet on the york front, they will start the season at tenn tech against white co. because of the new track being put down up on the mountain. this team is very young yet eager to play. they lost a lot of players from both lines and at the skill positions. they have already been bit by the injury bug. i am not really sure what to expect from this team except that they will be a hard working bunch.

I took my son last night and watched this game... first half was great mistakes made on both sides espcially the 4th and 50 and livingston player gets called for roughing the kicker... second half b-rock took over and dominated.and dekalb could never get the necessary stop to be able to switch the momentum back .. good year for deklab... good luck to livingston against fulton... b-rock was by far the best player in this game and have thought that he has progressed extremelly well over the last 6 years i have seem him play.

Congrats to westmoreland on a great gameplan to stump the dragons... we lost our starting left tackle and nose guard on the first and only touchdown drive of the game ... it was a huge loss to our team and the boys just didn't seem into the game after the injury... prayers going out to #54 hicks who suffered a dislocated elbow...Westmoreland got a return on the ensuing kickoff for a 99 yard touchdown and didn't look back... our offence looked out of sync the rest of the game. good luck to the eagles next week against cpa.

This should make for an interesting chess match... the spread offence is hard to defend .. mainly because u have to be patient and stay in your lanes and rely more on your d line to produce pressure on the qb... a solid running game is just as hard to defend when you have a beast like mays to tackle and offensive line that is very good in front of him to open holes and wide receivers that are quality blockers on the outside . good luck to both teams not only in this game but in the playoffs also I am sure you will both represent 8AA very well this year

It was a nail biter right to the end ... and in the end yorks defence come up short... don't hang your heads fellas keep working hard. It was what i expected a great hard fought football game... prayers going out to #58 of la for a quick recovery... good luck the rest of the way!!

the score between dekalb and york really doesn't tell how close the game really was... York gave dekalb all it could handle and more than it expected. York just couldn't get the stop needed on defence to keep the score close. Yes yorks defence needs some help espcially in the secondary and hopefully will correct it in the weeks leading up to the playoffs. This game between york and LA will show whether there is any improvment in that department. Must be able to contain mccoin and the running game to have a chance in this ball game . The atomsphere will be fantastic on the mountain friday night!!

There was a lot of mis communication with yorks secondary... props to dekalb their receivers played great and #1 has great hands and seemed to be open most of the night. York will work at it that is for certain... this game will give york some stuff to work with and correct... spread offences are tough to stop espcially when you don't hold your lanes and stay with your man. week 10 is great to look forward to for 8aa but there are several games to be played before then. good luck to dekalb the re rest of the year!

congrats to the tigers on an impressive offensive showing. #1 and # 18 both had incredible games... york played very well offensivly too . the stops you talk about were few and far between...york had 2 costly turnovers but were still able to run the ball effectivly against dekalbs defence. even with the safeties playing 10 yards off the ball.. biggest mistake of the night come from the ref on the kickoff returned by york to the 11 yard line where they got called for a personal foul that no one seen... all in all york has some work to do defensivly before playoff time... good luck to dekalb the rest of the way... great atmosphere at the game tonight...

I have seen the ups like 3 years ago when york shocked everyone and went to the state semis which included the best finish to a high school game i ever seen when york stunned smith county in the quarter finals. and the lows which were the very next 2 years... this team has rallied together they are healthy and come friday will finally get to play against a quality opponent... I am looking forward to going to dekalb this friday should be a lot of people and a lot of excitment. go dragons!!

I can't say that I have seen dekalb play this year... and you can throw last years matchup out the window... biggest differences between this years dragons and last years dragons first and formost they are healthy, and they are getting better prepared for their oppenents. I am not saying they are perfect by any means and they certainly haven't played a tough matchup yet mainly due to programs going thru a reload year. This team certainly has more than one weapon and will come to play friday night in dekalb. Whether they win or lose will not matter they will come and play hard every play of every down. This game will help prepare both for later on in the season. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win.

York beats upperman 34-22 in a good matchup on the mountain!! I was confused also considering york hasn't played upperman yet... they play this friday... should be a very good game. I don't think any team is unbeatable but based on track records coming into the season Smith county, livingston and dekalb should be the favorites in this district. However on any given night which was proven when York beat Smith county in the playoffs 3 years ago on a last second touchdown and 2 pt conversion a better team can be defeated.
