  1. ya, he kept sayin that catholic didn't have any depth. well they have close to 100 kids on the team. they choose to play kids both ways. sounded like excuses to me. webb got them an they have less than 50 players including freshmen.
  2. banter, i agree that was a solid win by webb over yall. blance is gettin better but still not 100%. He missed the game after halls and then dressed for the catholic game. he was only used as a decoy in that game. Last week he played but is still favoring it. prolly 2 more weeks before he's 100%. Good luck to halls.
  3. So who do think ur only loss should be?
  4. Nice recap. I enjoy readin ur posts. I agree that webb is prolly the best in the east right now. 2 weeks ago they beat #3 5a knox catholic 21-10. They also beat 2 other 5a schools this year. Last week lancaster was not very good and i don't know much about mt. juliet except they haven't won a game.
  5. Since webb has 2 vey good safeties and 2 athletic corners they were able to take away mackle from catholics offense. He's a good wr as long as he's up against dbs who aren't as athletic.
  6. eular u should do a little research on the teams from west tn that webb will have to face in the playoffs. the 2 teams that r very good in the west r ecs and usj. Both of these teams have very good talent. A te from ecs has already committed to alabama and their line is even bigger than catholics. The qb at usj is supposed to be very good. 1 thing we do know is that webb has beaten 3 5a schools in knoxville and pretty much dominated clinton in a scrimmage. I'll give u that they should dominate most of their region games this season because most of those schools r not as good as webb this year. They face da and dca at the end of their season. Both of these teams r good and will be very competitive games for webb. It just so happens that webb has a big sr class and some very good skill athletes. They have a chance to win it all this year but they will have to keep their heads right and keep working. Lets be real, webb did what they should have done and stayed in the class the tssaa put them in. They dress less than 50 players and play region games they r supposed to. I'll bet bga is wishing they had stayed where the tssaa had put them.
  7. froshmon u made some very good points. Basically webb's d was way too fast for catholic. What they lack in size they make up for with speed and toughness. Catholic's d-line did a lot of standing up at the snap and the webb lineman just controlled them. Catholic's qb prolly tried to do too much by scrambling all over the place. He went both ways and was totally out of gas mid 3rd qtr. I don't think catholic realized how good webb's two safeties were. Prolly the best 2 on the same team in the area. They didn't allow anything all night and yes waters had a monster game.
  8. First, i gotta say my spartans made me proud last night. They wanted it more and were better than catholic. Catholic can say what they want about who did and didn't play but the bottom line is that webb beat them on the field and scoreboard where it counts. Webb had kids sick just like any other team right now and like i said coach meske would never use that as an excuse and played who he had and competed. The game was unreal. Webb had players step up last night. The entire o-line played good against a bigger catholic line and fought the entire game. Saas, werner, campbell, jenkins, letsinger played their butts off. The rbs ran hard all night, berube who made tough runs, caleb played but wasn't anywhere close to 100% and aaron had some good runs. Wormsley at qb was steady, ran the offense and made some clutch passes to wilhoite who made plays. Defense held catholic to 10 points and created turnovers. The d-line played great with whiteside and little making plays at d-end. Saas and warner were tough in the middle. The linebackers were solid. Waters had a huge game and berube and campbell made plays. Webb's secondary played good. Alexander at cb recovered 2 fumbles. Catholic never even tried to throw deep because webb's 2 safeties johnson and carillon are the real deal and catholic knew they would get picked if they tried. The play that slammed the door on catholic was the blocked field goal with a few minutes left. Carillon shot through catholic's line and just stuffed the kick. It wasn't until then that i knew webb had broken the streak because so many times in the past catholic would have made that fg, recovered on onside kick, scored to tie it up, go to overtime and win but not this time. As an ex-spartan who came close but never won against catholic i want to give all of the spartans props for ending the streak.
  9. I think webb is ready. Prolly gonna be close but I believe webb will pull it out in the end. As for kids being sick, everybody is dealin with that right now. U don't hear coach meske using it as a possible excuse. Not his style at all. He'll play who can play and compete. His coaches and players are ready. Now all they have to do is believe.
  10. U better get there early cause webb has the smallest stadium in knoxville and for this game it will be packed!
  11. I wouldn't count webb out if i were u. Blance prolly be back friday but for sure by playoffs.
  12. I hate to hear that davidson lost there RB. I was looking forward to seeing him in person when they come to webb next month. It was going to be a good showdown between blance from webb and williams. rollredroll... ur right. nobody seems to be givin webb any respect by not givin them a chance to make it to state. They don't have depth or huge lineman but they do have some serious speed.
  13. I know webb tried to schedule farragut but they said no for whatever reason. Webb has played ae, bearden, powell and west a bunch. Beat them all every season so they aren't interested in playing. Understand why because they have nothin to gain. If they win they were supposed to, if they lose well it looks bad for a small school with less than 50 players to beat them so why even play in a no win situation like that. Who knew that central and halls would be as weak as they turned out to be. The other 2 games are region games so webb plays who the tssaa says to.
  14. Yea me too. Better get there early cause it'll be packed.
  15. I think ur right but webb has shown this year that they can be pretty good against the run. I know catholic can throw the ball. They have a really good qb and wr combo. I think it will be very close & ur right, dean would do his talkin on the field lol
  16. Okay, it may have been a couple of years since I played and yes, my days at webb were a part of the 7 losses in a row. This game was always intense and you could throw the records out or who either team had played to that point because this game was always tough. We came very close a couple of times in breaking the streak. I still follow webb football and still have friends who help the program. I think this friday will be no different. Hardnose and physical from start to finish. Both teams have some really good athletes and they will settle this on the field. Should be a good game either way. Does catholic have the speed on d to stop webb vs does webb have the d to stop catholic spread offense? Irishbball, I really don't think anybody from webb would be posting personal info like that about there own player.
