  1. Word has it that Millington is set to receive the "Murphy Fair" $500 booster award this week at halftime. Any truth to that? If so, that is great news! I don't think a West TN team has ever received that. Good work Millington Boosters!
  2. Doug, The CA reported that Millington only had 244 yards on the ground for the whole game.
  3. The Cordova I saw was one that struggled against the run, and that was in the rain. They key is to get outside of them or trap them. Running straight at them will not get it done. Gochiefs and doug, The cordova I saw I thought did a good job against Millington's run, at least until they started wearing down in the 4th quarter. Yes, I know millington forced all those turnovers, but without them it would have been a much closer game. Three of the turnovers gave millington the ball deep in cordova territory and directly lead to td's. That is 21 points right there. Remember that it was going to be 7-0 at the half without that late turnover with like a minute and a half left in the half. Gave millington the ball on like the 10 yard line and millington was able to punch it in for the 14-0 halftime lead. Doug, think back. How many 10+ yard runs can you remember? Cordova is big up front and I give them more credit than you guys I guess....
  4. You are entitled to your opinion, but Arlington can run the ball too. According to their website, they have thrown for 1507 yards and rushed for 1143 through 7 games. It's not like they are one-dimensional....just sayin'... BMack. That is the very reason. Rain will make a team one-dimensional. Cordova "D" is pretty good against the run. And those rushing yards were gained when mixed in with a leathal passing game. Take that away and Cordova can focus on stopping the run. Plus a sloppy field will even hinder the running game. Not to mention what a wet football will do to the turnover stats!
  5. Can I get some syrup and butter with that waffle? .... Ok ateam ... the caveat is duly noted ... sooooooooooooooooooo ... why don't you give us some scores to compensate those rain soaked, wet, muddy conditions ... just to cover your bases. We would HATE to throw out scores just because of "a wittle ole wain" now wouldn't we? I like a little Mrs. Butterworth on my Aunt Jimima's! Ok. Purely hypothetical. If it is raining at game time: Millington 14-13 over Bolton. Cordova 13-7 over Arlington. Only outcome that is changed. Rain puts a big hurtin' on the Tigers passing game! Ridgeway 18-13 over Wooddale. White Station 28-7 over Melrose. Mitchell 13-7 over East. Again, passing game. CBHS 31 - 24 No change, turf field and thurs night!
  6. Millington 21-14 - Bolton historically gives Millington a good game. Arlington 20 - 14 - Cordova's speedy little tailback can take it for 6 any given play and is quite elusive. Ridgeway 28-20 - Really a toss up in my mind. White Station 42 - 20 - Spartans put up 35 on MUS, most by any team this season I belive. Mitchell 27 - 20 CBHS 31 - 24 If it rains all week as the weatherman is predicting, you can throw all these scores out the window.....
  7. Arlington 10 - Bolton 6 Final Millington 35 - Cordova 7 Final
  8. First, let me thank you for continuing to underestimate teams in Memphis. We appreciate that. Second, why are you saying that other teams are down when it is very clear that your team is down? There are some down teams this year, but there are others that are doing very well. Why are you trying to talk sense into someone with "millington" in their username? bmack......Tacky..........Very Tackey
