  1. Most of these colleges want to hear from the coaches because most parents tend to think their kid is a superstar which some are decent players. The college coaches tend to trust the football coaches assessment of the player better than the parent. Do not discount the D2 schools. There are a ot of good D2 schools in Arkansas and one of the best programs in the country in Cleveland Ms. ( Delta State). These schools also have good academic programs.
  2. What week? What does Brighton have coming back?
  3. Heard they added Millington to the schedule. Any truth to that?
  4. Anyone know anything about next years schedule? Heard we picked up Jackson NS and Brighton. Both schools are good picks except for the travel time to JNS. Particularly excited about Brighton...they need to strengthen their schedule and we are right up the road. Millington is returning a lot of kids that either played a lot or started. A good lineman is returning from knee surgery last year and has gotten bigger and stronger in the offseason (Jesse Mangrum). Line looks good with two returning tackles, and the center, tight end. Good running backs also coming back. Team should be able to settle in better this year as Coach Michaels system is in place and not new anymore. Heard a kid transferred in from the Nashville area and is a possible QB. Any other thoughts???
  5. That is a great idea! That way the privates can offer as many scholarships as they want and play each other!
  6. Whitestation came out of nowhere and won pretty big for a Championship game. They weren't ranked in any natl polls, lost a couple of reg season games, not a lot of hype about them and they won it! Fella's....no one really knows who the better team actually is until about 9:30 friday night.
  7. I say we start a petition somehow. An email petition or one we can send by mail somehow and get people to sign and send back to a central location to put together and send to every administrator and board member plus all schools saying enough is enough. We want a program that is conducive to our kids over anything else(their big salaries and Hawaiin vacations!)
  8. It's bad enough that the T$$AA can't seem to get things right. THEY REALLY DONT CARE what you think. As long as they draw their fat salaries and visit distant beaches, their good! They know it is hard to do anything about it so they continue to do what they do. If they half way acted like they were somewhat humble and accepted information and advice from people, it probably wouldnt be so bad. At least act like you care! By the way....$8 per person for a game is too much...especially if you are taking kids with you to see the game.
  9. OK Fellas. Im with you...I have NEVER seen or heard anything good said about the T$$AA. I know of some sorry stuff they have done also.So how do we change it???Im in! Just call an asst principal and complain? That will go nowhere just like most of the complaints (and there are a lot) they get now.
  10. I think Ridgeway wins. They are too powerful in too many places. They have played some tough opponents in Memphis and beat all of them. I dont know much about JNS but I do know Ridgeway has scratched and clawed out some big wins and really came out of nowhere. My team is done this year but I will be at this one Friday night. Should be interesting.
  11. Does anyone know if the TSSAA is a non-profit organization? Are these guys paid salaries?
  12. I believe Whitehaven is as talented as any team in Tennessee. They will beat Gtown this weekend. Going any farther will come down to coaching. Also, I would be suprised to not see Ridgeway in the final game.
