  1. I keep seeing on alot of the boards people wanting five classes, which I agree. The format that was used before was a good one. I do feel that the privates that provide grant in aide should still stay in D2.
  2. Well it has been interesting to follow this thread. I am intrigued by the responses. Good luck getting anything changed. We do have to many classes for football. But I would always be infavor of keeping D1 nad D2 seperate. There are different rules that each has to abide by and there is no equity. A school that does not have to take kids that live in a geographic zone, but can cherry pick the ones they want has an unfair advantage over schools that have to take the kids zoned strictly to them. There is no way to spin this to justify putting everyone back together. The schools that can give grants are very good and have great programs but are not playing by the same rules that the public schools have to go by.
  3. Congratulations to the SM Eagles on the 2A state championship. My question is this where in the world did Gerald Riggs come from. He did the best Trooper Taylor imitation I had ever seen, he got more air time in this game than he ever did at UT. If I had not known better I would have thought he was the Head Coach. Does he work at SM.
  4. Hey 2Cents I would always agree to play up if I knew that if I needed a stud player at a particular position or positions I would just tell someone close to my program and they would deliver. Let's not act like it is a level playing field because it is not. When you spomsor kids or give them rides based on their abilities it is not a level field period.
  5. Hey RC I like that idea just keep the privs together and let the pubs play.
  6. How about spreading teams out and not putting two high ranked teams in the same areas. There may be some travel involved but is that not what makes the play-offs great. Let's look at other states (known for football) and see how they do it. EX; Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Florida, I believe they play pretty good ball in those states.
  7. Well let everyone recriut and fill the needs they have each year, do away with the transfer rules and school zones then put them all back together. How would that go over?
  8. The 8 state champions are to many. Go back to the five classification regions, the way it was before the virginia plan(?). As for putting everyone back together, no way it's not fair to play teams that can go get players they need or want and public schools have to take what is zoned for them.. In Georgia they have more of a population to draw from and the majority of that population is very proud to send their kids to the public school they are zoned and do not look down on public education or are scared to send their children to school with common people.
  9. Great 2010 Tennessee High School Football Season. Congratulations to all the Champions in all classes. The glaring fact is that in 6 out of 8 championship games the margin of victory was 21 points of more. This brings to light some flaws in the play-off system and the way the brackets are structured. Is it not the objective to have the best teams get to the finals? And if there is a superior district the teams in that district cancel each other out way to early. Any thoughts or ideas to correct this flaw?
  10. The bad part of this whole thing is that there are to many schools in Hamilton County and the talent pool is diluted. There is getting ready to be an influx of people moving in with industry and it will be interesting to see what happens then. Bigger schools are the norm everywhere else. On another note: What is the status of the football stadium at EH where are they and will they play at home next year.
  11. To be honest I have no alegience to a school in the Chattanooga, but frequent games all over the area. The way it sounds the new school is going to increase it's enrolment therfore they may move up which would be good for them, not sure if they will be ready to play the bigger schools at that time though. They may benefit from playing two more years in the class they are in. What do they look like for next year?
  12. Hey Tom sounds like you know alot about what the canes are doing and know the history of football to determine what decade plays come from. Maybe the coaches will get their play calling out of the 80's if you get rid of your hair style from the 80's.
  13. Hey EHgreen sounds like your not happy with the the coaching over there at East Hamilton. What should they be doing. Have not had a chance to see them how do they look
  14. Well the Soddy game was a huge surprise I do not think the Owls have los to the trojans since 2003. That was probably the most shocking score I heard all night. I think Coach Williams will have them ready to go for Franklin. They have a bunch of tuff hard nosed kids that believe they can win and have pride in what Owl football has become.
