Speaking of stats and numbers its unreal how spoiled we are as Oak Ridge fans.Somebody told me we have only lost like 1 game vs a team from our dist in the last 100 games.We have been on an amazing run and think nothing about a great season that other teams would love to have just once every 5 or 10 yrs.I know we love our football but I am so proud of the tradition of all sports at Oak Ridge and just how great of a school it is.I say it a lot but coach Green,staff,players and everybody involved deserve so much credit.We have been really blessed to watch some great teams and players.Whatever yr Tee was a SR was one of the best high school teams ever around here and was a top team in the nation.RWR

Your right did work really well most of time.Even if they prepare it makes the team scared enough to worry about the fake which only helps you get the punt off

Oak Ridge keeps rolling.Its amazing how good they have been in region play under Coach Green.It seems like every night Clary list another long winning streak vs different teams

And a good LB in B.Kelly which makes a great LB duo.I also bet B.Heyward will start at DB after playing really good in 2nd half of state title game.I didnt remember him playing any defense until that night but he played great.We return our starting punter but also lose our starting punter

Good news they cruised to win vs a good team without some of better players scoring much.I also think that is why this team is still gonna get a lot better.They have so many players that can get it done and its hard to figure out what role everybody is gonna play from night to night.

Good win.They seem to get back on track tonight.Coach Green has been amazing but I didnt know until tonight he has never lost 3 straight games at Oak Ridge.That is pretty good when you think about the tough sch he puts together every yr and the big time tournys he plays in.Good to see J.Miller playing like himself

I agree and its really odd.Good news is they have the talent to be really good.They just cant seem to find a groove.Im hoping because they have had guys out at different times so much that they just need time together to mesh and figure it out.It seems like they havent had the full team all playing but maybe 3 games.And on top of that coach Green not coaching the last 2 or 3 games adds to the crazy.We have good players and good coach that always has them playing good when it matters most.Way better problem than having bad players and trying to figure out how to scheme up wins

How is talking about missing half a team an excuse.These games early in year is mainly practice and to see where your team is.I think Kingston has a good team this year but surely you dont think it means as much as if they both played with all their players.I dont see any Oak Ridge people worried about it.I thought it was good for backups to get good reps vs a good team.I would like to see them play again but I doubt AG is worried about rematch but if he thinks it would help his team he might.

Did Oak Ridge only have 5 players or 6 that night

Willie some things can be debated and argued.But for us to have our best offensive game of year and then not run it when we needed it most and couldnt get a 1st down could never be explained.I would love to hear the OC even try an explain it

Tarwater seems more comfortable and would be a safer pick but I think Sharp has more upside with his size.One of them needs to be focused and working all off season to be good enough to be at the level it takes to play QB at Oak Ridge.If not I let Heyward know he needs to get some practice at QB.In high school if you dont have a really good throwing QB that understands defenses you might as well put your most talented ath back there and get creative

It was fun to see them smack Clinton around tonight.Clinton really thought they could break the streak but the Cats wasnt having none of that.Good to see the football team get honored at half.

Im with you.Those people are the worst.99% of team and family could be fine with how team handled it but the one mad will cry and get all the attention.And then all the people who want to act like they are so upset over the story because they dont like DB or whatever team it might be

Lol I know.Our DTs got the most out of what they had.Sure wouldve been nice if Williams wouldnt have left right before the season.Between him Keterson and the 2 hurt Olineman it really hurt us where we couldnt afford to lose guys the most.We need a strength coach or somebody to step up and commit to helping these guys get bigger.We need a program thats almost yr around instead of a month before season.You can always tell the 3 to 5 guys who committed to getting bigger and working hard in off season.

I would love for Oak Ridge to have a great Dline.I felt like by end of year we had improved a lot.I worry most next yr about our Dline.The Oline has some options if our OC figures out how to use them.I was really down on the Oline until I looked at some film and seen how they wasnt getting beat near as much as the scheme was getting beat.I wanna see our QBs get in weight room and be ready.Tarwater is gonna be a JR and dont look like he has gained any muscle since he got to high school.I would love to see an off season where we see a lot of guys put on good weight and look different by the time season starts.Lets hope the trip to Cookeville inspired coaches and players.Im ready to go back

I forgot about that but your so right about the West game.I with you 100 % on Gulmire and Summers.Its crazy how many really good RBs we have had.I wouldnt put KJ in my top 5 RBs since 1991 and maybe closer to 10 than 5.But its not a knock on him but just tells you how many great RBs we have had.I think if KJ cleans up some things like how he carries ball,getting lower and going north and south he will be even better.Just imagine him on Summits team with all those blockers giving him room and he goes for 100 plus easy.

I agree with most of what you said.He made mistakes at times trying to do too much.But to his credit I think playcalling and no blocking was his biggest problem.He is the kind of RB that needs to get going to show his best.Not comparing him to D.Henry but like Henry they both look really bad when defense is on them before they get that big body going.You give Jackson 3 or 4 steps and he can make things happen.There is no creativity in the run game what so ever.Plus you had a QB that would run RPOs and hand it to him when he shouldve kept it.If you go back and watch Summit game look and see why the run didnt work.I blamed our line all yr but after watching film our problem was blocking scheme.We ran so many plays where nobody blocked the DE and he was hitting Kendell as the handoff was being made or attempted.For some reason our OC never picked up on that not working after 14 games.Some guys like Graham and KJ are so good the only way they dont gain 4 plus yards is if you let someone come straight thru untouched.Maybe NFL and good colleges can run blocking schemes like that but we have failed at it for way too long to keep trying.

Oak Ridge has been one of the best BBall programs in the state since coach Green took over.The team made it to State last year but Covid ended that.With so many players back from that team it should be a fun season.Basketball is a sport of upsets but Oak Ridge should win a lot of games this year.

That Oak Ridge team that showed up in Cookeville would lose to a lot of teams.Its the same team that lost to DB 19-3 but shouldve been closer to 35-3.Same team in reg season that couldnt gain a yard on West and lost 22-7 but score shouldve been worse.The Oak Ridge offense struggled a lot this yr and wouldnt have made it without changing to a 5 wide offense that looked amazing vs a really good West team.For some reason I may never know they only ran that offense vs Summit for 1 play.That 1 play was the Oak Ridge TD on 4th down.Once Oak Ridge lost their 2nd starter on Oline the reg offense had no chance.While I think Summit was a better team because of great QB and how good they execute their offense Oak Ridge wasnt close to the team they was vs West.To say all those teams would beat Oak Ridge handily is a big strecth.Beech lost to Powell who didnt even make it out of 1st rd and was 3rd in our region.I think 5A had 6 or 7 teams that could win it all if they was playing good at the right time.Who knows for sure but by end of yr I think Summit,Beech and West was the top 3.Then your Oak Ridge,HC,Central,South Doyle.When your as good as the top 7 or 8 teams it comes down to how you matchup with what team you play,who plays best that night and gets some breaks

Your so right about the offense.What we did vs West worked too good so we didnt want to try that tonight.We thought the offense we ran vs West the 1st time would be better.You know the offense where we dont gain a yard or pick up 1st downs
