We only have the one Football Championship in Double A in only the third season of having a school and football program. How many does your team have? According to comments by Mike Keith, 193 Schools have never had one, regardless of size. We had around 50-55 kids on the team Last year. That's about the same we had the year before and the first year of JV. How many did your team have? My understanding last year was that East Hamilton, also a new school, had the largest enrollment of any Hamilton County School which should place them in 6A but played 4A. How come nobody seems to care or comment about that? Could it be because they have not won alot or do they just get a free pass. We are not the first team to play a season outside their enrollment qualification and I'm sure we won't be the last. But you know what Lancer, we are the 1st team in State history to win a Championship in our 2nd season of varsity play. For a start up program that aint to bad. You keep the focus of hating us and we will keep the focus on winning. GO EAGLES!!

I'd say the main difference is that Signal Mountain is on a State Championship Pedestal and everyone is looking for any way they can find to knock us down. Thats what happens when your on top of the Mountain. One person makes a mistake and everyone gets blamed. GO EAGLES!!

How is La Vernge supposed to be? Are they picked to finish well in their district? They have some HUGE lineman. One who said he was 6'6" and 365 lbs and they had another that looked to be well over 300 lbs as well. Lots of other big players also.

Figures you would say that since that's been the montra for the last few years. Nobody Signal plays is any good according to many of the folks on here. They are all a bunch of Cupcakes and we continue to gobble them up. MMM MMM Sure is good. Go Eagles!!

At least we are giving you folks something to talk about. Good, bad or indifferent, there sure has been alot of chatter on these boards and in the media about the Eagles since their inception. Sure, we can be a little obnoxious at times but so can many of the posters on these boards and at places like the TFP articles and comments section. I was simply a reader and would most likely still be if the attacks on our team, coach and school in general had not been so constant and overwhelming. Sure we have had a few problems and growing pains, but what school has not had their share of problems over the past three years. You sure don't hear about them. However, Signal Mountain seems to be under a microscope at all times with many in Chattanooga and apparently the whole state hoping for our failure since before we even became a school. They fought us for 40 years and they still don't like the fact that we even have a school here. But you know what? We are here now and we arn't going away anytime soon. So, when you perfect folks living in glass houses quit throwing stones, we will quit throwing them back. Until then, we will defend the community, school and kids we love and care about. P.S. Foozball has been taking shots at our cornerback for weeks as though he started the fight. I will agree that he may have been a little over aggressive on that particular play, However, when the fight broke out he was no where around that area of the field and not involved in the scuffle in any way. I responded with a shot at his kid which was really meant to be directed at Foozball himself in a backhanded way. Never the less, I would like to apologize to his son if I have offended him in anyway. I realize that he probably had nothing to do with this and it was wrong of me to include him into this argument. This will be my final post on this thread and subject in general. Time to move on. GO EAGLES!!

Foozballman, it seems like all you do on here is whine about how someone must have been cheating your poor trojans. I heard you imply on your video at the 7 on 7 at Signal that we were getting more downs than we were supposed to. And it was one whiney comment after another. Grow up. Everyone is not trying to Cheat your team. They are trying to beat your team.

If they have not improved significantly from last year, it could be a long night August 19th. Signal just returned from a scrimmage with Cookeville, La Vernge and Knox Bearden, All 6A schools, and we handled them all varsity and junior varsity. Signal outscored Cookeville and Knox Bearden but I think the La Vernge portion may have ended in a tie. I kind of lost track, but signal had the ball 1st and goal at about the 2 yard line when they blew it up. Signal will definately be a force to be reckoned with. Our defense is much improved and I am convinced our offense could score on anyone in the State regardless of classification. GO EAGLES!!

Foozballman, Can't you find anything else to dwell on. You certainly can't seem to let this go. It's as though trashing Coach Price and Signal Mountain football is your Only agenda. You make it sound as though Soddy Daisy has never been involved in a fight before this incident, but big bad Signal Mountain with their mean old Coach just started beating up on your kids for no reason. When our cornerback tackled your reciever, it was not the first tackle of the day. I witnessed someone getting knocked to the ground in every game that day. It's football buddy. Thats what happens. People get pushed around and sometimes knocked down. But as they say where I play ball, "No Blood, No Foul" You get up, dust yourself off, take the guys number and knock him down next chance you get. You must have never played much football. My bet is your just living vicariously through your kid. By the way was he the one that our cornerback knocked down or the one that went after our reciever after he scored. My bet is he is one of the bench warmers just like his dad probably use to be. I think our reputation is "the most hated school" No matter what we do. Our coaches didn't do anything wrong with the exception of letting fans stand on the side of the field. This had never been an issue until Soddy started a fight right in front of them. The person involved has been dealt with and the fans will no longer be on the field. What did you people want our administration to do, forfiet the season? Maybe we should give back our State Championship since we clearly did not earn it and then disband our football team for a year or two while the competition catches up. Would that have made you folks happy? By the way, I sure don't remember the uproar two years ago when a Long haired Red headed Soddy Coach came on the field and punched one of Our players. That is when all of this really started. We will settle this on the field. GO EAGLES!!

Foozball your story just keeps getting better. Thats how most lies start first small and then bigger and bigger. Now you have 50 eyewitnesses who saw us assulting your parents, coaches and kids. I saw that tackle by our corner. I also saw the same cornerback get sucker punched in the back of the helmet after the end of a play. Do you condone that. That same cornerback was also the one being punched all the way down the field by one of your players. Football is a physical sport with lots of hitting, pushing and yes sometimes even tackleing. Your player was not the only one tackled that day and our team was not the only ones that tackled anyone. Nough Said. I'm done with this subject. GO EAGLES!!

I watched your video foozballman and I did not see a single parent or fan throwing any punches. I only heard you comment that parents were getting involved. I thought that might be why it took you so long to post this video. You have no proof. The video I saw looked pretty tame in comparison to the comments posted about it. I did hear a child in the background commenting about how one of your players had been punching one of our players all the way down the field. It is obvious that you have a biased opinion by your comments that Signal was the only team you cared about beating at the scrimmage. Could that be because of the way we have drilled your team in the full scrimmages. GO EAGLES!!

I agree troll. I thought that was the purpose of having a fence around the field. If your not part of the game, you should not be allowed inside the fence while the game is being played. Coaches, players and officials should be the only ones involved in trying to break up fights and parents should be spectators only. It was very disturbing to watch as adults, who were not part of the game, inserted themselves into the skirmish. I know I would be deeply upset if an adult were to punch my son as I would expect any parent to be. With that being said, Football is a fight. It is between players and coaches and that is all. Parents, siblings and others have no business being on the field during the game. We should be teaching our kids that good sportsmanship is part of being a Winner. GO EAGLES!!

Sure was good to watch football again but boy was it hot. Good thing it's just shorts and helmets. If you can't get in shape in this kind of weather, it's hopeless. The boys looked pretty good for the 1st day back. Lot's of kids out. Nearly 70 in all. 4A better look out. We will be very strong. I predict another ring. GO EAGLES!!

Maybe the coach didn't want to play Alcoa. I don't know. I'm not the Coach. If I were the coach, maybe some things would be different. Then again if I were the coach, we probably would not have the State Championship Ring we have now. So, I think I'd like to keep letting Coach Price make those decisions and I'll just sit back and enjoy. GO EAGLES!!

I can assure you colonel dingus. I don't know the identity of these other posters you referenced. But I am not them. I am however the proud parent of a State Champion with a ring from last year. Not last Decade. I would be willing to bet that I have watched more Signal Mountain High School Football than anyone besides our coach. I know the talent we have and a few other details about some new talent for our upcoming team that have yet to be revealed. We will be even better than we were last year. Truth be told, I wish we were playing Alcoa. Then there would be no questions about how good the Eagles are. GO EAGLES!!

You know Goat Man, thats the most intelligent post you've made on here in a long time and I agree. In fact, I will gladly save a seat for any White House player/fan that wants to sit on the Eagles side. Then they can at least win vicariously when Signal shocks the 4A football world and takes home the Gold their first year in the division. GO EAGLES!!

If BDP makes it to Cookville (which they won't) They will not bring back a Gold Ball. The Eagles will own that ball this time next year. Then everyone can talk about the cupcakes we played to get it. You can have that Silver ball. We have no interest in 2nd place. GO EAGLES!!
