  1. Clinton top 10, you think? I think they will regress quite a bit myself. Losing some talented players, namely the HC son who was a 4 year starter, of course. I’ll be surprised if they are top 10 material, but stranger things have happened.
  2. Boys have started to hit their stride at the best time. Hopefully they can keep it going against West Saturday evening. Don’t be fooled by West’s 15-10 record either, they’ve beaten some really good teams throughout the course of the season.
  3. Ahh, well I’ve always heard he was from there. Another lesson in not always believing what you hear!
  4. I take that back, I believe Pennington was a Halls kid.
  5. Even Chad Pennington was from CC, believe it or not. He went to Webb, but still, they’ve lost a lot of really good players throughout the years.
  6. To be fair, CC has always lost kids to AC, going back even to the Kerr years. Caleb Slover, Davey Gillum, Jamey Chadwell, and of course the Price twins were CC boys. A lot of the best AC players have been from there sadly. Not saying I blame any of them either. The pipeline has been going on for many years, as I’m sure you know.
  7. This is entertaining. How long can yall keep this going?
  8. Lol it did. Hope you’re doing good, GW1. Still need to get that old rivalry rekindled!
  9. Back in our “heyday” we had to play an out of state team a few times, Paducah-Tilghman in Kentucky, to be exact. Their QB was Billy Jack Haskins, who went on to start at UK for a season or two. They were our only loss in ‘91. Stoned us on the goal line going in for the winning 2 point conversion, if I’m not mistaken. I was one heartbroken 13 year old.
  10. Do you mean Justice West? Don’t know a Rell? And I can understand why y’all would want Stanton. He did bring a championship to AE, so it’s completely understandable. I’m not one of the OR folks who dislikes SS. I wish him the best.
  11. Yeah, before Murfreesboro boomed in growth. I’ll check that out, budroe.
  12. I ain’t too worried about it. I’m glad to see some other teams finally get some exposure.
  13. That’s if we had of played a Murfreesboro team in those days, it would’ve been Central. I don’t think we did though.
  14. Sheriff, I believe we played Murfreesboro Central in those days. Oakland & Riverdale didn’t become schools till later on.
  15. No doubt. Loaded would be an understatement. Fernando Bryant was another. That game in ‘95 (my JR year) was a real heartbreaker - 10-7. I remember Gipson got loose on a QB rollout and I thought he was gone, and I look up and here comes this white streak, and none other than Gerald Griffin. I thought Mike G was for sure gone. Man, GG could fly.
  16. Man, Alcoa hit 13 threes in the first half. Insane. They couldn’t miss there for a while. We overcame though and stayed with it. Carter is a dang good player. One of, if not the best I’ve seen this season in this area.
  17. Riverdale seemed to pick up some steam last year. But sorry Dawgs fans, yall can get back to Bearden talk. Apologies for intruding.
  18. I’m not sure. Would be interesting though.
  19. 1500+ right now. It was in the low 1300s when Blade was @ OR to give you an idea.
  20. Yeah that was the year after I graduated. Tharpe @ QB and Roc Hardin down the sideline. 1997 season.
  21. 88 & 89, but MidTenn might correct me on that. I was at both games. 7-3 slobberknocker in one of them.
  22. Had a few great games in the late 80s. Don’t think we played them in the 70s but could be wrong.
  23. Think so? But that trip to the Boro though if it were to happen, I’m not looking forward to.
