If you read one of my later post the OC from riverdale hasn't heard back from Grider( as of last week) so I doubt it will be him. Money is on guy from GA

So if your an OC or DC you wouldn't take a job at SP and have a shot at a couple state titles? If the pirates start going in the other direction how much you want to bet Vic will jump back in or even fire the guy? The source is came from someone close to the OC in riverdale... I say it's pretty solid

A coach worth his salt would not get his very first coaching job at a 1A school that is in contention for a state championship every year? I don't buy that. As to what OP said, do you think any in house people would agree to only coach 4 years and hand it back over? I doubt that at all, that's why the hire is from the outside. Brining in a coach from GA to coach 4-5 years and head bak with a bigger pay raise is a smart idea. So when this coach goes back to GA for better money down the road and VIc does step in, I guess Vic just felt like it was time to get back in coaching , oh it so happens Sp job is open again... Haha we will see

I can't speak on Vic's behalf because I don't talk directly to VIc. On the 4 year deal, from what I was told the coach that Interveiwed said he was talked about it being a 4 year contract. Just from what I heard Vic just needs a break. He wants to coach his daughter and the softball team. Sees it as a new challenge. Coach Vic will not have to apply in 4 years, as the coach being brought in contract will be over and VIc can step in. BTW there will be no next world wide coaching search. VIc will be back. This isn't about SP becoming a revolving door. If Vic does come back after 4 years, he still has a lot of miles left to coach

This will be a 4 year deal, guy goes back to GA for HC job and gets that nice pay raise. Good hire.

Needs to step away, and he is doing just that. He will coach at SP again, or at least you guys better hope. Alot can change in 4 years.

Ummmm??? Im talking about the coach being brought in. Vic isnt going any where, and I never mentioned him going any where. As to the bigger TN job, he is just an OC at a big school. I was referring to him advancing into a HC at Riverdale, Blackman, etc.... as in big 6-5A Football. Not 1A. Vic will be the football coach at SP in 4 years. I wouldn't call it that. Just an understanding that this is a 4 year deal, and the success the coach would have here gets him that big job he wants In TN. This is a pretty reliable source this is coming from. Two parties close to SP and riverdale. It could happen it could not, but sounds to me deal has been worked out. Your getting a very good coach if so I also may add D cord from Calhoun understands the deal also. He does 4 years here and then gets him a HC job back in GA. Both could be hired. There is a reason VIc said it will come from outside the program.

Your actually pretty close, but the coach being hired isn't stone. From inside sources , Vic wants someone from the outside to come in and coach 4 years and then hand back to VIc. Vic wants to coach his daughter for 4 years and the coach coming in gets 4 years of HC experience and then he can go back to that 6a football he is coming from... Just so happens VIc knows that talent is going to be really really good in 4 years again... Wonder how Riverdale will do without there OC

KC wouldnt be the best Decision. KC is up there in Age and maybe has two seasons left and thats a maybe. Im very confused at who is up for the job, I figured they would want to go a diffrent route then what they have so far.

They havent offically open the job yet. All the intrest has been from word of mouth. There are some names who have applied that are suprising. When the playoffs are over and the job is posted we will get way more intrest and ithe rumors and names will be out there.

Please pay attention while your in school. No reason to be on this board while at school. Also to say Sequatchie will NEVER be any good is crazy... Barger had a winning record against Marion in his 5 years. Who was the last coach to have a winning record against Marion at Sequatchie?

I hated to see Barger step down . He did some really great things for this program and got the respect back. Another program will get a great coach . People have to realize it goes a little deeper than X's and O's sometimes. Just like Old pirate said this will be one of the better job openings of the off season. How many SO and FR do they play? A bunch of Jrs is not a young team.

Sequatchie is very Young and Athletic. This is good for Grundy that they get them early in the year. Sequatchie improved from week 1 to week 2. Looked very good on both sides of the ball against Meigs Co. Grundy lost to Marion by 1 point and played SP compettive for about a half. However, I think the Bryant man gets outcoached again. When was the last time Grundy beat Sequatchie? Sequatchie will win this one.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. Sequatchie is young and Athletic football team. Multiple freshamn have seen quality snaps this year. If Grundy and Bledsoe dont get them this year, it may be a while before they do. I say they at least split, if not win both. Dont be fooled by the York score. Lots of turnovers to a very good football team can get ugly, which it did.
