  1. Congrats to Coach Buchanan and the Lady Huskies! Well played game.
  2. Lake County has to be the favorite but I wouldn't be surprised if North Greene took this one. Coach Buchanan is one of the best I've seen and he has a solid team to work with. If the Lady Huskies outside shots are falling, they can pull the upset.
  3. All of the Greene County teams should be pretty good this year. I'm sure Grainger will be right at the top again. Don't know anything about Claborne or Cumberland Gap. West Greene has plenty of pitching, South Greene will probably have the best hitting team, and Greeneville and Chuckey-Doak both will have good balance. Baseball is so hard to predict because it usually comes down to pitching. Can't wait until it starts.
  4. Who wins? rank the teams top to bottom.
  5. I haven't seen Unaka this year, but WG has looked good. I just think the size of the Buffaloes will wear the Rangers down. WG has a really big O-line. And you're right Bud, it would be great for the Greene County area to have three teams at the top of the BRAC.
  6. I agree, give the Huskies a couple of more years and you'll see a different team. It's not going to be this year though. The Rebels are too quick in the skilled positions, and NG will not have an answer for Jalen.
  7. I think West Greene keeps rolling along this week. Although they don't need to overlook the Rangers. The Buffs are just too big up front.
  8. AMEN! Now to get back to the real question on this forum, South Greene will keep it going this week. I would like to see North Greene keep improving, but the Rebels will be too much on friday.
  9. i think woosley will do a good job but i think the devils will be down on talent from last year. quarles and anderson will be hard to replace.
  10. My understanding is that the tournament will be played at Tusculum College, which is a beautiful facility. For anyone that doesn't know , its where the Greeneville Astros minor league team also plays. As far the conference goes, I think that its wide open. I have not seen that "one" team that is head and shoulders better than anyone else. I think come tournament time it will come down to the team that makes the least errors will probably win it.
  11. WG had 11, yes 11 errors in yesterdays game. you cant beat anyone playing like that. They did turn it around today and beat Chuckey-Doak 11-0 on CD's home field. Zach McCamey was lights out on the mound and the Buffaloes hit the ball really good today. Not taking away anything from CD on tuesday, Tyler Feezel was great pitching, but Chance Lamb was also pitching really good. Chance left the game down 9-4, but had only given up 3 earned runs, he didn't get much help from his defense. Congrats to the Buffs, hopefully this will have them on track for the rest of the year.
  12. I heard SG and Greeneville both looked good at the NG playday, no suprise there, WG scrimmaged Volunteer on monday and looked solid as well. Don't know a lot about how anyone else looks this year. any opinions?
  13. West Greene was not there because they had seven or eight players at the YEC church conference in Nashville, they didn't have enough here to field a team. Glad to see baseball season finally here!!
  14. This was a really good game. Tip your hat to Jameson, he made the play when he had to. These teams have played twice this year, C-D winning both games being down and making last second shots. I'm looking forward to round three.
  15. I agree that West Greene should have a good year. Very possible for the BRAC to come down to West Greene and South Greene, but I also expect Grainger and Greeneville to be strong as well. Baseball is a funny game, it usually comes down to pitching, if your guy is on, you're probably going to be in good shape, but if he's off, you're in trouble. I do know that West Greene and South Greene have good pitching, I'd give the advantage to West Greene because of depth at that position. I don't know anything about the non-greene county teams.
  16. I look for South Greene to sweep Greeneville. The South Greene girls are very strong, I think they're too much for Greeneville. The boys game should be a great game as well. The county teams are really fired up to play the devils though, and I think South Greene will want it more. I know that its two different sports, but the way Greeneville rolled over everyone in football has the county schools wanting to beat them that much more. Greeneville had a great year in football, and they deserve all if the praise and respect that they have received in the area, but a lot of the same kids at the high schools play football, basketball, and baseball, and the ones who got beat in football will really want a win. Also, South Greene is much quicker, Greeneville has more size, but I don't think they can run with the Rebels.
  17. I've seen both teams this year. Should be a very good game. I'd have to give the edge to South Greene. I just think their experience will give them the edge. They can really shoot the ball well. Greeneville has more size, and a better inside game, but I just think South Greene will be too strong.
  18. I was very happy for Ryan Roberts as well. He's a good kid and played his heart out. Big games coming up on Tuesday in the BRAC. Greeneville and South Greene as well as West Greene and Cumberland Gap. What does everyone think?
  19. Congrats to the West Greene Buffaloes on beating Greeneville high! This was a very good game, the Buffs hustled all night and came away with a 41-40 win!!! It was a total team effort. West Greene's boys played their hearts out. well done!
  20. What about the home and home games in consecutive days? Not sure what I think about it yet. Teams will really have to watch how they use their pitching in out of conference games. The good news is teams won't have to face the oppositions ace twice, the bad news they won't have to face yours either!!
  21. Greene county is in upper-east Tennessee, along the North Carolina state line.
  22. My mistake, it was 2007 when all three teams won state.
  23. I agree that North Greene should be good this year, but replacing Hopson will be very hard to do. They have some really good players, but baseball usually comes down to pitching, and I Hopson WAS their pitching last year. All of the Greene county teams are talented, as much as I've seen in many years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them all at the top of their conferences this year. North Greene could win their conference, and the other four teams could finish 1-4 in the BRAC. I know a lot of people are saying Grainger is the team to beat, but I would not be surprised if WG, SG, CD, and Greeneville all finished in front of them. There is A LOT of baseball talent in Greene county! In 2008, the Greeneville All-Stars won the State Championship in 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups!!! I'm not sure if any county has ever had three state champion teams in the same year before. Good luck to all!!!
  24. South Greene wins the conference. Greeneville does not have enough to keep up with them this year, but they should finish second or third. Chuckey-Doak returns some really good players, they may be a factor. West Greene has a lot of size and young talent, and could surprise this year. Hard to say about the other BRAC teams, I just don't know much about them. Most of the teams are in Thanksgiving tournaments this weekend, so we should kind of see how everyone will stand. Good luck to all!
  25. Greeneville has to be the favorite to win the conference. Grainger may challenge them. The other three greene county teams will be pretty even, and could win on any given night. I just don't know anything about the other teams in the BRAC. South Greene returns some good players, but have to replace Corey Brown. Feezel and Harris will be tough for Chuckey-Doak, but as a team C-D will have to get more consistent than they were last year. West Greene has a talented junior class but will also have to get more consistent.
