  1. They are pretty good. They can hit it well from top to bottom. Osborne, Lingenfelter, and Matthews are all good arms. Defense is average, but they rely on the arms to over power you. Had trouble with Morristown West and Heflin. Good pitching can keep them in check. If their arms are on and their bats solid, they are very difficult to beat.

Wonder if the rain will push any Monday games to Tuesday DH?
  8. From Tuesday the 18th Cocke County- 4 Gatlinburg-Pittman- 0 6 Cocke County pitchers combined to no-hit GP.
  9. Was at Knox Central...been out of it for awhile...favoritism won out here instead of a solid hire.
  10. This seems to be the job that no one has any idea about anywhere...We're all clueless.
  11. They've done well the past couple seasons. Great facilities, great feeder programs, have some decent $$$ and talent to work with. Last season a little down, but they were young and competitive. Previous two seasons they had made it to Region.
  12. I don't know if the assistants left. I would say Reese would be the top candidate if they stay within the staff. Hometown boy, collegiate playing experience. Seems like he would just assume the position.
  13. Lots of good viable options around that would love to have that job.

From up this way- AAA Sevier Co. Had a kid last year as a freshman closer that came in and hit 85 easily. Very hard to hit him.
  15. Cocke County at Hampton was Cocke County 6 Hampton 3, not Cocke County 10 Hampton 0.
  16. Per SBannerSports Twitter: Two high school baseball jobs have been offered, from what I've been told. Jeff Hopkins from Collierville has been offered the Bearden job. Casey Taylor has reportedly been offered the Sevier County job.

And McCollom and Beaty from the Wave. McCollom to Cumberland and Beaty to Christian Brothers.

Maryville College wants Beaty. Cumberland looking at McCollom, LH P/1B and also looking at LF Goddard. Tanner Sandel was signed by CB in the fall.

Beaty is a good pitcher. Hard Fastball and a decent Breaking Ball. Tends to have some location trouble, but all in all a very good reliable arm when he is on.

The district is really unclear as to who wants the top spot. It is really competitive from top to bottom. Any team can beat any other team in the district, we have all seen that. That should make the district tourney exciting. Any team could win it...

    9-AAA

Evan Jones of Gallatin throws a no-no against Portland to beat them 6-0. Puts Gallatin at 5-4 in District Play.
  24. Bump. Still looking for one varsity team to fill out our tourney. Had a team drop out
