Let me get this straight: Homecoming, lost girls game, lost boys game, had guys at halftime acting gay, boys coach getting two technicals and pushing cheerleader, your McDonald All American charging the LCHS student section! How proud you must be at SCHS! And to top it off you want to call us rednecks and blame our administration! What a JOKE!!!

To the Mitchell football team and fans, I would first off like to congratulate the Mitchell football team and coaches for a game very well played! That offense is absolutely amazing. We just couldn't stop that offense and needed a mistake for us to stay in the game and they just didn't come. The Redmond kid is some kind of athlete. I have heard all along the Malone was good but for some reason never thought about who was throwing the ball. I would like to wish the team good luck from here on out! The loss was not easy for our kids and they were very upset and that is the reason I have decided to make this post. I would like to say thanks to the fans, coaches and players for conducting themselves in a professional manner. After the game I thought it was a very good gesture to hold your team on the field until all the LCHS players had gone and got their congratulations from the LCHS fans. That gathering and support for our team at that moment was all we had left and I say thanks! I would also like for the players on Mitchell to know that their actions on and off the field didn't go without notice either. Of course 54 points scored gets lots of attention but the way you walked back to the field house showed lots of class. I respect teams that are good and conduct themselves the same way. I am very proud of our team also. What a great year! Hopefully LCHS can enjoy many more years of success. Our community needed this and I want to say thanks for such a great season.

I have followed Lawrence County very closely this year and have had the pleasure of seeing some very good football teams. I however have not seen any teams from the West other than Craigmont. I for one think Craigmont had a very good football team and if not for mistakes they could have won. That being said, I also saw LCHS make mistakes that they normally don't make. Was it the talent level they were playing that played a major role in those mistakes, Probably! I look for this to be a better game than what most realize. I am sure LCHS will make adjustments to Mitchell's strengths. Anyone that thinks any team that is still in the second level of any state tournament is not a good team is crazy! I have seen teams that had a better team get beat by lesser teams and so forth. Lots of times its just matchups that win and lose games. As far as coaching goes, I for one don't think teams east of Memphis has better coaches! I have never seen a coach drop a pass, throw an interception, miss a block, etc. These are kids and kids make mistakes. This is for GoChiefs: I read what you wrote about your kids being disappointed after the game against LCHS and I would like to say for them to hold their heads high! The kids played a great game and the coaches did a great job giving them a chance to win late in the ballgame. That defense is very good!!. I also read about the fighting and suspensions that happened. We don't have that sort of distractions and can't imagine having to coach around those type issues day in and day out. In parting, I would like to welcome the Mitchell fans to Lawrence County and I would be very surprised to hear that they were mistreated in any way! I for one am proud of our football team and proud of our community and fans! Go Cats

Welcome to CoachT, Jvb123!!!!!!!!!!! 1) Can you give us a quick run-down on who your favorite team(s)... and why. 2) Why are you skeptical about the rural teams ability to compete for 4 quarters, vs Melrose and Mitchell? ---------------------------------------------------- (I think I can safely speak for Kwc, Fballfans and the rest of the CoachT posters, with this..) We all look forward to exchanging ideas and reading your viewpoints, as well. I must say I would consider myself a Lawrence County High School fan. I like this team for the same reason you like the West teams probably and that is location. Since you asked, I also like the running game. Not just theirs, I like all teams that run the football! As far as the second question goes, I have seen both LCHS and HC play this year and I am just not positive they will be able to keep up with the speed that they are going to face this week. Of course my heart says they can but my brain says hold on! When any team comes across a team with a D1 signee they need to be careful. I must admit I don't know lots about the West teams but I do know they usually bring very athletic teams and I wouldn't expect anything less form these two programs. These two Memphis teams are historically good and I am ancious to see them play. Ball control is a must for both LCHS and HC because of the explosive offenses. Good luck to all teams. One of these teams that emerge from quad 4 could be the next state champ!!

I am a relatively newcomer to these boards and have not posted on here before but the last few post I have read have made me register for an account. Those post are the way this site is supposed to be used. Talking about upcoming games and giving insight to why teams will win and loose. I will be watching for TraderB, KWC, and Fballfans posts in the future. Keep up the good posts guys! I do expect some great games Friday night. Not sure the rural teams will be able to compete for four quarters against Melrose and Mitchell but I do expect great games. I would have to say LCHS/Mitchell may be the best game this week.
