  1. Oh come on....Ive seen some of the best players in the state play without taunting and running off at the mouth! #30 for UH is good and he doesn't open his mouth. Does his thing and goes on...gotta like that! It may have appeared I was dissing on the UH coach...Not so...I've watched him for years and he is very very good. ..and I saw him tell a starter tonight that he'd address his attitude after the game. So maybe he's not for all the mouthing crap after all. As for Hampton losing composure tonight, we were down 9 at half and come back to take the lead...you do realize Bentley was on the bench with a bleeding leg for a long span and #2 and #24 are both freshmen? And if we hit half of our missed layups, we win going away? Shooting 3 for 13 from three and 54% from FT line didn't help either Don't know who's sleeping on UH, sure hasn't been any of us up here. BTW, I honestly didn't see UH doing much trash talking tonight anyways.
  2. I know the coach and have watched him work players for years but he's always had them disciplined. Been to many a game at UH and never felt it to be a hostile environment....May wanna put a leash on em tho, cause UH still has to come to Hampton and the whole dang town is hostel here
  3. Oh great! Sounds like the coach needs to gain a lil control of the pompous bunch! I see the attitude on about every team these days. The clapping hands in an opponents face after a simple layup, steal or whatever irritates me to no end. Thank Dukie for introducing this. I swear if I coached and a kid did that, he wouldn't play the rest of the season. They should be T'd up every single time. I promised mine I would drag them off the floor if they dared ever be so overbearing.
  4. We play University High on the road Tuesday then to NG Friday. If we play like capable, we get the W in both...If we play like we played at SN (although we won) we get smacked.
  5. Talked to some "old timers" and life long HV supporters this week...To say they're embarrassed and unhappy is to put it mildly. We'll see you Saturday
  6. With a blue alliance, there will be no rivalries
  7. Where's the AD that he doesn't get control of this?
  8. We played Johnson County well. But Youth reared its head tonight. Gotta be confident and shoot the ball
  9. Still early. We show our youth a lot but it's our hard style of play that'll keep us in most difficult games...But that style can cause some foul trouble too. I'd hate to lose the rivalry feeling of playing these CC schools but the change is a coming...and sooner than once considered
  10. If you cant have passion for something, it ain't worth being a part of!!!
  11. You would be embarrassed sitting next to me...I get a lil "excited" sometimes too
  12. With Hampton's youth and the 5 in/5 out that Ned's running right now, each game is an adventure! Not a world beater on the floor, but if they play hard, they can be fun to watch.
  13. Desire...Dont get me started. We didnt play well the 1st half at SG and paid the price as SG shot very well and out hustled us too often. We young, but got time to get it together.
  14. I'm sure they did look different!!! There was a slew of athletes on that FB team
  15. We weren't there...church I hear we won by 17
  16. Would love to have seen both teams healthy and at full strength in 15 and 16 when they were loaded. We were either injured or in FB each time we played DC then. Like in football, we're very young and not sure what kinda game we could give a school the size of DC at full strength. Hope DC has a good season too.
  17. The Dogs played well again tonight against Jellico and David Crockett. We'll hopefully learn theres a whole left side to a basketball court tho
  18. I've been wondering about that...how many FB players for DC are studs on the hardwood? Same as football, we are YOUNG. So, not sure about any beat down but you all deserve it after the stomping we took on the field this season
  19. The road ahead is a stressful one on experienced teams. We'll see how this young unit handles it. Any run will depend on the qualities of teams down the road...And a lil good fortune...BUT I agree, it's coming
  20. That's the edge this group has thus far...They play HARD and pretty smart too...But just so darn young
  21. Final 87-59 Hampton Boys play hard...Its good to see. And ball distribution, cutting, aggressiveness also good to see
  22. SC jumped out to a quick 15-2 lead shooting lights out. Half time Hampton 50-32
