Elizabethton's swarming D should make for a miserable night for the Grizzles. Good luck to both team and play safe. No matter the outcome both these teams move on. Bring that game back to E-town.

To bad for the toppers, they had a great chance to go all the way this year. One player does not make a team. I'm sure she feels bad enough. But she helped get them there and can be proud of a great one loss season.

Granger was all over this board last year running down our coach. I think they learned their lesson. But the writers always pick them ahead of Elizabethton. They only beat HV by 13 and HV had it close at times. The cyclones have to rebound because they have a couple of big girls that block out well. But if EHS hits the 3's like they do, rebounds will just be taking it out of the nets.

Greeneville JV 13 EHS 7 was not a blowout and a lot of freshman played.

yep and we got beat 21-0 by South in one quarter of the Jamboree. So just count on those wins.

Greeneville had better score quick on the cyclones and often it they want to win the game, because if Elizabethton is within 2 td's at the half then they have Greeneville right where they want them. the greenes have not played in the second half all year and the cyclones dept and conditioning will come into play. They have been told all year they would not beat the big schools, science hill, Daniel Boone, Tennessee high, Sullivan North, Sullivan South...they proved them all wrong and will again Friday Night. All the jitters will be on the Greeneville kids that beat the chuckie dokes. Get use to hearing #28 scores over and over in your nightmares.

You are right the band will get to wear their competition uniforms at home...the only time they get to do that is after they win state. The whole town will turn out just to see those.

Anyone notice how Witten did not play 28 a lot in the first half. When he did he just pounded him up the middle and sort of saved him for the second half. Then those sweeps took it's tole on the South D. Hands on the hips. If Elizabethton is within 2 TD's and Thomas is rested they will be hard to stop aginst anyone. It freeked South out when 28 lined up at Out Side LB to dogrush the QB, it looked like they sent 10 players over to block him. This team does not have to run up the score like some teams do to win. I don't see Scott County stopping us.

Now that Greeneville sees they may have to play THE CYCLONES i heard their ATT bill is over $10,000 to NC trying to pick up a few more players for that game.

7 came out of the backfield to make that catch the wideout crossed taking the corner, linebackers headed to 28 and 7 was all by himself wide open. Great call...

Great game Cyclones. No respect, i knew we had a good chance when almost every sports writer in the tricity picked south. They never get it right.

just count on that jamboree score...and you will be surprised to know that the night before Elizabethton played Gate City for over 3 hours and the backs that were in defending the pass had never play a down in a varsity game until that night. They have played 9 now.

Ha, South could not stop Thomas last year when he was a sophomore, what makes you people think that they can stop him this year when he is a year older and up to 225lbs of solid muscle. South has speed? Take a look at Thomas, Glover, Turner, Bailey, Armstrong, Woodby, Olds, and Jones. I'd put them toe to toe with any speed on South's team.

Well, it looks like Thomas is back at full strength so the Johnson County fans will get a treat watching him run. Though the Atwoods may have some tricks up their sleeves and those tough Mountain boys are not going to lay down. So it will be a fun game to watch. Elizabethton has a lot of weapons and that showed last week. They are getting better. I hope this post gets above the South post...that's games two weeks and South better realise that that game won't be a jamboree game...

After last night, no doubt the Cyclones are for real...even without Thomas they are getting the job done. But don't worry Thomas will not be out long...even so the Cyclones can't get caught looking ahead to the South game...they need to take care of business...the O-Line was opening up some monster holes and our backs made the right cuts..and showed they can throw when needed, EHS 35 Johnson County 7.

I hope its Gregs pizza after the the game because those Cyclones are going to be hungry after scoring all those points....

The only way Thomas does not rush for 300 against HV is Witten does not want to run up the score. You will see the JV's run up the score and the clock will not stop the second half. After the first couple of hits by the Cyclone linebackers HV will not be able to find anyone to run the football. They will all claim they are hurt and limp to the sideline.

After the jamboree according to the papers i thought South was already crowned State Champs. You mean they actually have to play football games this year.
