  1. Y'all are crazy... Willie runs a 4.3 something at the combines but the reason he isnt a D-1 prospect is because he doesnt study his academics. People that follow Greeneville High School know that. A lot of major schools across the country will find a place for someone as fast and talented as Willie, but not if he wont pass GHS. I hope he plays college ball and is succesful, but i dont see it happening. But in Willie's last game at GHS in the state championship game, he and BJ will come through, along with Chaz, Mel, and Rel on defense and Greene Devils will win. BJ will be offensive MVP and either Jamel or Chaz defensive MVP. Go Devils
  2. In fact, Terrell and Jamel are both getting major looks from big-time schools such as Ole Miss, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. This is best defensive tackle and defensive end for the Devils... Greeneville will dominate this state championship, and these two boys, a long with the entire team of playmakers, will show up big. BIG GREENEVILLE WIN
  3. Tanner Stewart will be the quarterback from Greeneville next year, and with almost their entire team coming back, I think they will be just as good. Tanner can actually run AND pass. He is a very good QUARTERBACK where as Willy is just basically a runner. I cant wait to see the GHS team NEXT YEAR when they are basically just as fast and even bigger, stronger, and faster. Why is no one on here talking about the three best athletes that are juniors?? Terrell Rollins and Jamel Hall and Taylor Schuffler. The heart of Greeneville's team are juniors and sophomores, and yes, I will be at the game on Saturday and cheering for the Devils who should handily beat this lackluster team from Memphis, but next year, there will be no downfall from this amazing team, either.
  4. that was last season. this is this season... the wins and losses dont carry over. maybe you should read up on that
  5. i meant to put from the post above ^^^, that greeneville could still turn the ball over two more times than jeff does and still beat them 31-14. greeneville will win, period.
  6. more info on the scrimmage... the reason the D looked a little shaky at times against Dobyn's Bennett's first team is 3 of the starters were not playing in order to be 100% for the Jeff County game... 2 starters on defense and the senior leader on the offensive line, also one of those starters on defense plays not only the defensive line, but the offensive line as well, so they should be healthy by the time jeff county roles around.... that leads us into the reason people are posting on this thread, the Gville Jeff game. G-vegas wins 31-14. at no time this year should Greeneville's offense be a problem. the defense will be near 100% but be shaky because of first game jitters. I say greeneville's offense could probably get away with turning the ball over twice and still beat jeff. and yes, i know the pats will be the best team PROBABLY during the regular season that gville faces. go figure that one out.
  7. i agree with barb... i think if you look at the Eastern postseason schedule that Greeneville faced, it was even tougher than the Western postseason schedule that Giles faced... and as far as i've seen, getting back to the topic of conversation on preseason teams, the greeneville squad is stacked with potential d-1 talent in players like Jamel Hall, BJ Spradlin, Ben Ogle, Chaz Story, Taylor Schuffler, and Terrell Rollins and newcomer senior Willy Carmichael. if this team doesnt go 8-2 to 10-0 regular season with tough non- conference games against Sully South and Elizabethton and Tennessee High and Jeff County in the mix, it still may be a disappointment. expect a tough but finished run through the postseason as well 5-0 in the 2010 playoffs, thats all that matters.
  8. i think greeneville and cosby along with maybe wilson are the two or three best teams in the tourney... right up there with them is SG but considering the game earlier this year, gotta give it to greeneville. idk if us Devil fans will be able to beat this cosby team, i hear they have 3 signees already D1 from an inside source and it will be tough to stop them... we will see Merry Christmas though to all... and a Happy Holidays (in case the first one offends you)
  9. great post barb... our team got there because of toughness and hard work and an incredible weight-training program (thank you coach mccurry and coach ballard ) we deserve this is as much as anyone. this will be an incredible game. both teams, well coached. both teams, proud schools that tend to be overlooked in their surrounding areas because of big city schools in knoxville or nashville. and both working hard in the off season and going above and beyond each week with heart and intensity... good luck to both teams. GO Greene Devils!!
  10. paintrain?? welcome to the CAINE train, as in caine ballard, our wonderful coach... the three teams we lost to were all in the state semifinals last week except tennessee high who until they got beat by a fluke in the second round of the playoffs were rolling and the number one team in class 5a... we lost to sullivan south who was 5a semis... elizabethton because we played bad but they were in the 3a semis... and tennessee high who was the nearly undisputed number 1 team in 5a until they got beat by a fluke... challenge us, but not the schedule, especially the losses
  11. the same way that sometimes big offensive teams matchup and end up scoring very few points... so much emphasis on a particular aspect of a team that the other side of the team wins... defense, offense.... either way. greeneville was the first team in the playoffs to score an offensive touchdown on whites creek, they did two of them. the third touchdown as im sure you know came off a blocked punt, thus creating the special teams advantage for greeneville with their mix of punts, kicks, and blocking punts and kicks... btw, i did not clarify how each team would match those points... id say it will be a surprise how much offense shows up for both teams in this game.
  12. well all but that one, have turned out for me to be right bet i have a better pickin percentage then you do, mr know it all! haha. you could thank me for actually giving giles county credit where it is due but instead you show the lack of class we are all expecting due to your cocky comments and poor social manners of accepting a compliment are obviously lacking.
  13. no i thought giles county's defense was great... just i felt that greeneville's was more of a cohesive unit and flew to the ball better. not extremely FAST but tremendously quick. giles is very close though in my opinion
  14. i was actually anticipating this game early in the year and have seen both Giles County and Greeneville play in person. i know one game is really just a snapshot, but from what i saw, greeneville has a slight edge in just a couple of spots but Giles County's experience in these big games over the past decade or so will probably come in handy also. I feel as if the breakdown is this for having to rate each position and the depth at each one= Quarterback-Giles Running back-Greeneville wide receiver- tied offensive line- tied defensive line- greeneville linebackers- greeneville defensive backs- giles... special teams def greeneville though this should be a great game. i hope no one gets hurt. good luck to both, im gonna pick Greeneville in a close one though, 34-28 with both offenses surprising both tremendous defenses
