Here in the bore, teams have an athletic period for what I understand. I don't think places like Metro and Wilson county do. Recently, Cheathem co. is toying with this idea. If I had kids playings sports at that level; and I do not, they would transfer to some place like Rutherford county. Why do they need P.E. when they could be lifting and getting their physical fittness through weights and conditioning? Some school boards are just plain ignorant when it comes to a healthy life-style and family values.

Boy, if this holds true then this would be a great hire. Mr. Stevens is a proven coach with a good back ground from his Austin East days. Good luck with this hire and I hope things turn around for the city of Lavergne.

I agree Maplewoods HC seems the logical choice, who else really wants it?

I guess when you don't support some one elses view you're a racist or bigot. Throw me in into the fire too. I agree with Lost Old Dad, some people are just plain stupid and don't like to listen to truth. There are slaves today, but you don't see those whinning doing anything to help them. They just want to bring up the past. There has been slaves all through-out history (black, white, asian, hispanic, female, male). But here in the North America, its just black I guess. For Lavergne, they need to clean house. Literally, clean house. Knock down the building, rebuild all the facailities, and start fresh. Maybe then the kids from Lavergne will see more success. School isn't just about books, but a over-all community (learned that at MTSU). Learning, football, basketball, band, cheerleading, honor society, etc. Kick out the gang bangers and send them back to what ever whole they came from. Send them to jail and lock the doors.

I see some of yall's points. But , I believe a coach would have already taken those things into consideration before applying. I know I would. I wouldn't just apply without knowing the lay of the landscape. One more question, Do high schools interview and then give a second interview for their top candidates. Then discuss coaches needs and wants.

Norte dame hires a new coach within weeks. USC hires coach within days. Franklin County, Warren County, Indy, Science Hill, and LaVergne are 5 losing teams who will not get better with the current admininstration in place. The administrators at these schools need to be fired. You should have already had an idea in place and the kids deserve better. So, I'm asking these administrators to step down. You're not fit to run a program, much less a school or school system

I'm not looking for HC job. When does the interview process begin and who are lead candidates.

What is the time table for this hire? Will the new head coach be allowed to bring in staff like Oakland had done or will they suffer another few years (2-3) and repeat the scenario? This has the billings of a high profile job that can rise or crash and burn? I'm new to the area and what other jobs are open in the boro.
