Really.....What years did they play Red Bank and Riverdale? Because I don't see this. Two times in over 30 years is not bad! Try 3 times in last 4 years...something you have never did before.

You have not answered my question. Why does DB not replace Clinton with Maryville. I know they want to be 11-0, instead of 10-1.

Elizabethton is in the Semi-Finals THIS year, and has been in the Semi-Finals in 3 of the last 4 years. DB has been to the SemiFinals only once since 1980.....REALLY top 5 team in STATE!!!!! Maybe some of the DB football team can come watch us play at HOME next Friday. We do need some extra cheerleaders.

I thought I did answer your question...Eliz choose to go to NC due to cost reasons. We do not have the money 6A teams have. DB is the best team in Upper East Tennessee, however they have not made it to the semi-finals since the playoffs started and most fans think they are the best team in the state each year by being ranked in top 5! They can't get to the semi-finals.

Elizabethton does not go to Knoxville to play any teams like DB does. All I am saying is why don't they replace Clinton with Maryville? Elizabethton goes to North Carolina due to cost savings and play teams there.

Ole Betsy is still playing....DB is not. Enough said.

Does anyone agree with me that DB should play Maryville every year instead of Farragut/Clinton. It would better prepare them for situations like this. And don't tell me that Maryville does not want to play DB!

As I stated earlier, Maryville is used to playing in this type of game. DB is not. Just overclassed, and this is exactly why DB WILL NOT PLAY Maryville during the regular season. However they will play Farragut and mighty Clinton

We in this part of East Tennessee see it as down to the 40/75 split. Because to us up here, that is where the real football starts.

Good lunch dbFAN91, I really hope you win. As I said before, I sincerely believe that DB does not want to play Maryville year after year, because they would get beat. I use to not think this way until I saw what Alcoa did to us in the Semifinals a couple of years ago at OUR place. One major thing that I noticed with Maryville/Alcoa. Their kids are used to being in this environment, others are not. Remember the last time these two teams played it was a beat down. I hope it does not happen tonight.

Good luck to everyone from DB. However, you have a much LARGER tasks than you think. As I can attest (as we have played Alcoa in the Semifinals) it is a much different game when you play Maryville and Alcoa. DB is the best team in East Tennessee, however they are not in the same league as Maryville. My question is WHY do these two teams not play ever year. DB goes to Knoxville every year to either play Farragut or Clinton, and the gate for this game every year would be tremendous. I would really like to see DB get past this game, but I really believe that you will see why DB does not want to play Maryville every year.

Say what you want about EHS...AT least we are still playing. Can't you just wait for another 11-0 season, ranked #2 in the state (HA), and then get beat in the first or second round. IS THIS something to be proud of year after year. If so, that is exactly why DB has never won a state football championship since the playoffs..they settle for being the best in ETN and that's IT.

Another GREAT exhibition by DB. Coach Clark and the DB Boys finished 11-1 for the year. I bet the teams from Middle and West TN are excited they don't have to play DB...HA. When will DB fans realize..Clark is NOT the answer..Get rid of him. At least the Basketball team can make it past Knoxville. I guess next year will be another 11 -1 year. And I guess the DB faithfull will be happy for this. If you live in Middle TN.. DB is a joke...accept it DB fans

Great point. But the problem is DB loses more in the first two rounds than they do in the semi's. When will the people at DB realize that Graham Clark is not the answer. Why do you think Clark did not take the MBA job when it was offered to him? Probably because he would have to win a state championship to keep his job unlike at DB. Alcoa coach would be a great hire for DB when Clark leaves.

Thanks..but what I said is true. Its funny how it "quiets" even the biggest DB fans. EHS has the same problem in that we will never be able to beat Alcoa...there the best team in the state regardless of classification this year!

I love this time of year. DB FOOTBALL fans are stating how THIS is the year. Let's be real here. Graham Clark has NEVER even made it to the finals, and you believe THIS team will. IF they win this week they will probably be playing Maryville. And as we all know, Maryville HAS won at least 10 state championships within the last 20 years. DB has not won a state FOOTBALL championship since the playoffs started! So for all you DB fans who believe this is finally the YEAR, just remember...ETN ( from Tri-Cities to Morristown) do not have the athletes to compete in 6A football unless they go to Alco or Maryville. DB problem is they play teams like Davy Crockett, Volunteer and Central every year. Playing these teams is like a scrimmage only with lights. DB needs to play Maryville, or other good teams beyond Knoxville to truely see how good they are. Otherwise it will be the same story every year....DB undefeated until it reaches a good Knoxville team.

No ETN team has even PLAYED for a state title since then. All I am saying is that once you get to this level, start playing the best out of Knoxville, Middle or West TN area its a completely different ballgame. Look at TN High. They were #1 this year and got beat. Do you really believe THEY were #1 in the state. Same can be said for DB, when they have a good team they are always close to being #1 in the state but loose in the 1st or 2nd round. Its a different type of football and if EHS is not careful it could be a long evening. Believe me I would like to see a state title in the area, like we got back in the early '90's with BBall (SH) to quiet others in the state.
