I don't disagree with the technical foul, but ejected?? C'mon. The McNairy girl was pulling her down and she used her leg not to fall on her. And for the record, that is the "only" technical foul #15 has ever had and the only technical foul our team has had all year. It looked worse than it actually was. We don't play that way.

I believe you meant to say, West is the person who "picks" the teacher/coach, but the school board actually finalizes the selection. I hope they keep Chad too, but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't Noah.....

I cannot believe I am actually going to do this, but I agree with your entire post. There should be only 2 schools for this county----Westview and Eastview. It would be great for the students academically, great for the county of 35K with 2 high schools, and save a "ton" of money for the entire county. I have heard that Lampkins is the front runner too........ On top of that, I would even support building a bigger school than Westview and getting Eastview a bigger basketball gym and football stadium. Some day it's coming.....no one wants it, but it's best for the county. Now that is something people should be getting excited about around here.

YSODumb...thanks! Here's what's happened over the last 5 or 6 years. We've beaten Milan and Henry County, we've made the playoffs 11 of the last 12 years. In the last 25 matchup against Dresden, we are 21-4. We don't need another coach, but if we do--we will call you or $$ baggers for the help. We will see you guys on the field in the fall....hope you guys hire Crazy...for your sake. West won't be the only one to make that decision...he couldn't even take him off the field, but the "Super" could.

No. Just comparing programs year in and year out, not titles. Programs that just don't rebuild, but reload and are competitive year in and year out. You guys have 3 winnings seasons and you guys are now elite. that's a big LOL. If you get the champion of the TSSAA sportsmanship committee Chuck West to speak up, you guys will get to keep the greatest sportsman on that coaching staff. For the record, we want Crazy to get it too. It's a lot more entertaining and a lot more competitive. Tell Stoker and the QB club to threaten to withhold "funds" for any other coach besides Crazy.....I think you have bargaining power there...or get a JumboTron.

Wasn't excited about a couple of those refs either, but Dyersburg is pretty loaded and they play hard. Congrats on the victory. Hopefully, we can go in to Covington and give them a punch in the mouth. If we play our game, we'll be in it. The 3rd quarter run by Dyersburg hurt us the most. We couldn't answer in that quarter. That wasn't a rumor, that was true. Coady interviewed at a couple of places over the last few years. He is trying to "bump" up his retirement and by finishing his career at a higher paid salary, he could accomplish that. Seriously, I hope they give the brother a shot at it or he will be in Murray before the school year is over getting ready. I keep hearing Lampkins too.

Who called him? I would have an inside track on that. The only person associated with Dresden that has interviewed for the Chargers was the Swofford kid last spring and we passed. I guess he felt so at home at Dresden is the reason he never bought a house there, and that's why he's at Murray now. Don't believe everything you hear, unless it comes from the Westview coaching staff.

Congrats to Dresden and to GC for a great season. Sounds like it was a good game. UC and Dresden in the Championship...I still see a possibility of 2 teams from North of I-40 going to the Boro. GC has a bright future ahead....still.

What a dog fight! McNairy was bombing in the first quarter and they were a tough team. Dyersburg pulled away in the 2nd half over Chester County. I expect another hard-fought game and hope we can get the W. Come on down to Chester County on Wednesday night...if it's been like the first 3, it should be a heck of a game. Shout out to the Bobcats---you played a good game and it could have went either way.

Heavy @ their "antics". I was responding to one of your other homers referring to Coady being glad he's gone. Coady doesn't give a crap of who is coaching the other teams, causes he always put the pressure on how we play and doing what we do. I hope the one they know as "crazy" gets the job personally. He is very entertaining and he will end up at Murray, if he doesn't get the opportunity. According to the people I've talked too, he's going to have a hard time getting the superintendent to approve the hiring---because of his antics and the TSSAA's inquiries over the last couple of years. I hope he does. It's good seeing Dresden in a competitive stage and not just another blowout. Dresden never has had a "numbers" problem, they've had a "fan" problem.

Agree completely. She is extremely good at ball distribution and handles the rock extremely well. Currently, I believe there are 9 Freshman and with the upcoming 8th graders---I expect a very strong team in a couple of years. Next year I foresee some team learning and the unit getting better, after that I expect to see some domination. Go Westview!

I haven't watched many of S Gibson's games, but they gave us a game on their home court at the end of the season. I don't know enough about their coach to say anything about him. S Gibson will be a contender the next 3 years. Westview only has 5 upper classmen (3 seniors and 2 juniors). The seniors are: (Leyhue twins, Bryant). We had two good players that transferred in at Christmas. 1 is playing (junior-dominant post) and 1 has to sit out (freshman-shooter). We also have the leading scorer (Junior-Rechis) returning next year with some giant 8 graders coming up. We will be better at the end of the season next year, then at the beginning but we will have to go through some growing pains. Double AA should be strong over the next 4-5 years North of I40.

Next time you're at the school....look around the entrance and around the rafters of the gymnasium. We want the brother Hodge to stay---we are on the same team on this one. We don't like drama, but we enjoy watching it. What is his first name, the brother assistant, I want to call my school board reps and put in some good words for him. They have made Dresden what it is today in football and we respect that. We want Dresden to keep us on the schedule and not "run away" during the lean years.

Dresden will not destroy GC. It should be a close game, but GC has some athletes and a good PG. Neither team will get by Humboldt. I'm predicting another UC vs Humboldt Region championship. Wouldn't be surprised to see both teams in the Boro. Substate home court will be huge coming out of the Region championship game.

I wasn't off too bad. Seems like the Region is playing out accordingly. One more try at predictions, GC over Dresden (5 points) UC over Greenfield (20+points) UC over GC (7-8 points)

Good game tonight between Westview and Lexington. Lexington is a very athletic team and had some scorers. Looking forward to the matchup against a very good McNairy County basketball team. Will be some more good basketball at Chester County HS next week. Go Westview!

Coady laughs at the Hodges...the only people who took them serious were you guys. I hate to see him go personally, I like the side show that comes along with the staff. I hope the other Hodge gets it personally. We recognize the difference between a program and a fad and of all the football teams in this area....Dresden should know that. Westview- Milan-McKenzie-Henry County.....do it year in and year out. Eveybody has a good couple of years hear and then. I hope you guys do sustain...I hated the 40 point blowouts...it's not even fun to watch. I vote for the other Hodge to get it. Let's keep it fun.

I hope the previous predictions play out and we get a chance to play for the Region title. Don't know much about the other region, outside of McNairy. This time of year, anything can happen. Thanks for the confidence and I hope we are in there against Dyersburg. If we can get there, maybe it'll be our turn to win this time. Dyersburg beat us 67-58 last night. It was a great game to watch. A very physical game and the refs let the teams play. Hats off to Dyersburg for winning the District and hats off to our girls for trying to find a way. We stormed back with a 11-0 run in the 3rd and got it to within 2 (45-43) and then Dyersburg responded. It was a great game. Both teams have a lot of good players. Hopefully, we'll have a chance at them again.

I like it when any of our North-West corner teams win it, girls and boys. We have a high level of basketball over here in the corner, sort of like football does in the East. I believe this is UC's year and anything short of a championship, or a championship appearance, will probably be pretty disappointing. They have skill, size, attitude, and leadership. I look forward to watching GC the next few years, I got a feeling GC is fixing to go on a several year run as well. Good luck in the Region!

Dyersburg is a very good team. It was physical, but that's basketball. Hopefully, we will have a chance to see them again. Great atmosphere and a good game for any fan of basketball. The physicality didn't bother me as much as some of the "lack" of walk calls. Looking forward to Region game back at home.
