  1. Let the hitting begin. Keep working hard, boys.
  2. Above is my first post in this thread...not sure how it is a highjack. It is a simple post with reasonable questions about FRANKLIN. Notice no CHS references. Someone else brought up CHS in a way to attack my post. I responded and defended. Again, not a thread highjack. I rarely post in non CHS threads about CHS. It is almost always someone else that brings up Centennial's history to try to put me in my place. That is someone else's issue and inability to defend their team and respond intelligently to my posts. I can contribute in any thread I choose, as long as a do it in a "CoachT Acceptable" manner. If I point out that a 7 on 7 may point weaknesses with FHS, and the weakness may be what FHS was touting as their strength, why does the response have to be to slam CHS? The answer is simple; fear of the future. Thank you for this opportunity to take a FHS thread and allow me to speak about CHS. Any by the way, Independence still has the worst staff in the county and that has nothing to do with Centennial either.
  3. Ummm, huh? A little sensitive, are we? And I dont think eveyone does agree about what D1 talent really is. A big body? It helps. Good arm, definitely. Quick release, yep. Great hands, of course. Great vision, no doubt. Illusive hips, a huge benefit. Speed, a great asset. Great receivers, definitely. FHS is missing some of these things. Please point out any cheap shots. Truths hurt sometimes, but that doesnt make it a cheap shot. And I could care less what you are sick and tired of hearing about. Stop reading if you dont like it.
  4. I have said that as well. But when people boast of a D1 qb that can't deliver in a passing camp...it makes you wonder. It looks to me that Franklin going to the 7 on 7 reveals some glaring weaknesses. They would have done better to stay home and appear lazy.
  5. Since when is stating the truth bush? 0-CENTURY. Its a fact just like Centennial is what, 0-15 against FHS? Its a fact. Only one is much more glaring and embarrassing for one of the schools...care to guess which one? Heck there are tons of schools CHS has never beaten...and there are tons they have never played. But in over 100 years to have never have won the big one? Seriously? There is really not much to debate about there. Thats ok, you stay satisfied with district championships. This year is your last shot at one for quite a while. I am sure Centennial is aiming much higher anyway. Franklin lost its athletic base and Grassland cant send you the athletes you need to compete.
  6. I agree with all of your post, but the question still lingers. IF the qb is D1 level talent, he should have had much more success at the 7 on 7. Was he inaccurate? Bad hands in the receivers? Can't run routes? Can't throw to a spot? If the brag is that the guy is D1 quality, the 7 on 7 shows there must be some weaknesses somewhere...where are they? A big, slowfooted qb can be D1 if he has laser accuracy and great receivers and some good blocking. It doesnt sound like its all there for FHS, regardless of what some are saying. A very young O-line, and either receivers with bad hands, or cant run a route, or a qb that cant hit a spot; things that make you go hhhhmmmmmm.
  7. You seem to be really worried about CHS...thats funny. There has been no chirping from Mallory, CHS is only talking about their improvements and excitement. Pretty bush league on your part to take it as something else. 0 - and over a CENTURY for a State Championship will do that to you, I guess.
  8. Think you can actually answer my post as a maturely and not as a Franklin cheerleader? A little over the top with your own hype is not a good thing. CHS was horrible last year, and without a couple of plays falling into Franklin's lap, CHS would have won. They didnt and thats history so it doesnt matter. The question is still hanging out there...how does a slow footed "D1" qb get only 4 wins at a NON RUSHING passing camp? Is it a receiver issue? QB issue? And with a young O-line, can they give him the protection he needs to throw the ball?
  9. Not that I put much credence in 7 on 7 football, but a DI qb that can only win 4 games at Vandy's 7 on 7 doesnt bode well. Is there a receiver issue? I have heard he is a little slow, but come on, there was no rushing, so how fast do you need to be for 7 on 7 success. Whats the story there? If it is a receiver issue, combined with an inexperienced o-line, picking FHS at the top may be a gamble. I'm not saying anyone else is better, but there seem to be some pretty serious questions that need answers.
  10. Don't forget, mirrors reverse what you actually see. It will be an interesting season. BHS and FHS should indeed be on top, but this may be the last season for that. CHS's day is coming...this year, or the next...at most 3 seasons, but I doubt it will take that long.
  11. I'm not taking potshots at someone whose identity is known on here (Hogan) while keeping mine secret(godsoffootball). There is a big difference. If I have issue with anyone, they kow who I am and what the problem is. godsoffootball came on here to hype a kid and slam a coach. Both are pretty immature and the earmarks of a child.
  12. Grow some and go talk to the guy, not get on here and snipe at him from behind a screenname.
  13. Ahhh...more asinine accusations by those that recognize what CHS is going to become; a great program. Keep'em coming, scared Danny boy. Your gym accusations a few months back were just as lame and based your own lies. CHS is under a microscope because everyone recognizes what is happening, a convergence of athletic ability and very strong coaching. A scary combination for the rest of the county, no doubt. I have a feeling Rector knows he is being watched closely and is taking extra care to make sure nothing like this stupid accusation is true. Come on G, give it up.

  15. I think the Cougars are being optimisticly quiet to keep the surprise factor high, lol. From all I have gathered, they did very well at the 7 on 7, even beating several teams that in years past they would not have had a chance against. Flashes of brillance, flashes of inexperience; the earmarks of an emerging team. This is going to be a fun season.
  16. Spring ball, did great against Lebanon. Stopped their offense, scored several times. Did ok against Mt. Juliet. Surprisingly stopped a very strong run game that had a huge line up front, but gave up some deep passes on a very fast but very inexperienced secondary. CHS's schedule is not really a pansy schedule (no Page, or the like, ha), its a smart schedule for a team in transition, and one with a lot of work and building to do, and in light of the z plan. I highly doubt the schdule will be the same in 2 years, after they have gone 7-3 or 8-2 or 9-1 or 10-0. I have heard they have picked up a couple of very big and strong freshman. Word is also out on a couple of out of town transfers, upper classmen, that could really contribute. 2-8 wont happen. I threw that out there for the CHS haters. 5-5, 6-4, 7-3 are more like it. They will have a great season to showcase a new CHS program. Odds are they will give every team they play all they can handle and will finish with at least a handful of wins and a couple of games into the playoffs.
  17. He's not my head coach, and I would certainly never hire him to be. He has the most disorganized team in all of middle tennessee. Jr. Pro teams have more organization. My playing time, or anyone elses, including Dyson's has nothing to do with it. You can either coach or you can't. Two other schools realized he couldnt even be a good assistant coach and they got rid of him. He had, and still has the weakest resume of anyone that applied for the IHS job, and yet he got it. Not too hard ot figure out what is going on. So Dyson's own coaching time really doesnt mean much, if anything at all. Now that it has become pretty obvious he doesnt have a clue, any serious football player in the south end of the county will find their way to Summit. The Indy numbers will get smaller and smaller while Summit grows. He created this mess in a program that had just been to the state finals. All of this and you think the guy can coach because of what he has been exposed to? Holy cow. You were in the locker room the day all those players were in there smoking some funny stuff weren't you...
  18. Its a toss up in my opinion. Have to give it a little time to see if what Rector is doing is going to work. Word is that the discipline is already a huge difference. A few unexpected athletes have moved in. A couple of beasts at the freshman level, but who knows what role, if any, they will have with varsity. CHS could be 2-8, which I doubt, easily 5-5, possibly 7-3 or 8-2. This is a very good schedule for them, and like Indy, could benefit from an overall weaker conference. This season will be very interesting. Two seasons out from know will be the real test of where CHS is. I see them becoming a regular top contender in the district. Franklin, while fairly strong right now will get weaker and weaker over they years because they lost their athletic base and those kids are coming to CHS and not finding a way to stay at FHS and they may not want to anyway. Brentwood will always be sound and have great technique, but the privates are really pulling their top area kids out and the atrition will begin to show. Ravenwood is a toss up. Sounds like they have good numbers, but with a new coach and a new high school that will pull their most athletic area out in the next few years, any success will be short lived. Indy will struggle for some time to come.
  19. Coach?? Wrong tree there, strawman. And I believe every single out of conference team that CHS is playing has a bigger enrollment than they do. Thats smart scheduling, verses putting a lose/lose game like Page on the schedule.
  20. Anyone who thinks Indy will be over .500 must have been in the locker room smoking who knows what. When your only chance for a win is that the other team is down or completely outmatches them and you legitimately shouldnt even be playing them (Page), you are grasping at straws. Indy has small numbers, average talent at best at every position but kicker, and has the worst staff in middle tennessee. 7-3 is a crack pipe delusion. Blackman- No way Page - Probably, but maybe not Brentwood - No way Lincoln County- No way Centennial - No way (couldnt do it last year, CHS was horrible, Indy is now smaller and even worse coached because they will have had two off seasons with Dyson, CHS is bigger than last year and MUCH better coached) Coffee County - No way (Indy doesnt even understand hardnosed football anymore, let alone being able to stand up to it) Hillsboro - Maybe and will give a probable Franklin - No way siegel - No way Ravenwood - Maybe, but probably not At best, Indy will be 4-6, 2-8 is closer to reality, 1-9 and 0-10 are legitimate possibilities.
  21. Actually, not lately. I've been traveling and have gotten a little out of the loop. The weather drove me south last week. Tired of this cold, rainy mess. My understanding is that barring a few mistakes, the Cougars looked pretty good against a very good Mt. Juliet. Stopped the run and got burned on some long passes when the young secondary got lazy, thinking that their speed would make up for being sloppy.
  22. Franklin will not finish #1, but will benefit from being in a weak district this year. They will finish #2, behind BHS. CHS will battle IHS and RHS for #3.
  23. Not any more. At least that is what the word is. Franklin's time is ending.
  24. Just popping in to say hello, boys. And the only chance Indy has of scoring more is if "the leg" has picked up more distance and can nail them regularly from 50+. Indy's offense will have scores in multiples of 3 only. Touchdowns will be scarce and based on a lot of luck. Hands down, Indy has the worst coaching staff in middle tn.
  25. I thought they just did a rezoning. What do you mean?
