  1. There is a need for a wide receiver/defensive back coach at Moore County High School located in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Currently the position would be non-faculty but there is a very strong chance that there will be a teaching opening in either the high school or middle school. Anyone interested in the position pleace contact scott smith at scott.smith@tennk12.net or call at 615-210-9707. Please no calls to the high school office.

  3. Thanks cats voice, i will be glad to do anything i can to help you all out. My new email address is scott.smith@tennk12.net. run the ball, feel free to drop me an email also so we can catch up....things are slowing down a little since we are slowly getting everything moved and on a schedule
  4. I just wanted to let everyone know that this is my first week at Moore County and everyone has been great. My future wife and i just bought a house about 6 miles from the high school and i am getting to know my kids better everyday. I have interviewed for no other jobs and plan on staying at moore county for a long time. I can state that coach price will be coaching with us along with Jeremy austin who will be here before school to take over his role as defensive coordinator. We wanted very much for Coach Christian to stay but wish him the best at wherever he goes. he is a fine coach and an even better man. We will have one more opening down the road and hope that we can find someone experienced teaching wide receivers and defensive backs. Go raiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Spring practice begins on Monday, May 10th and concludes on Monday, May 24th. If the weather cooperates we will try to finish up on Thursday, May 20th, the day before graduation. That is a 15 day window in which teams can have 10 practices and 2 scrimmages. This also allows for bad weather days.
  6. Moore County High School is seeking scrimmages for both the spring and fall of the 2010 school year. Anyone interested please contact Coach Scott Smith for dates at smithsb@jcschools.org until March 11th or at scott.smith@tennk12.net after March 12th. Thanks

  9. This is Coach Smith. I have accepted the head coaching position at Moore county and just met the kids last Friday. I have not applied for the East Lit job, it is not under consideration and no demands were made. Good luck to whoever gets the job. Bubba has done a great job at East Lit and will do the same thing for Hillwood
  10. Just wanted to set things straight on this site, this is scott smith and i no longer hide behind other names. I am not powercat or anyone else on this thread. I have applied for the Hillwood position but so have many others, i am sure all would be good head coaches I did turn down the Warren county job last time it was opened due to the fact i was going through a divorce and did not want to be far away from my children I have learned many lessons from my three years at SH and i hope that it makes me a better coach. I have been humbled in more ways than one and i hope that wherever i get to coach football, if i get to coach football again i will do a better job. I have coached five years in metro and have learned incredible lessons from metro greats such as buddy brown, terry anderson, wes elrod, jerry pigue, bubba spears, jim wilson and many, many more Finally, i am moving closer to middle tennessee to be closer to my parents and also recently my children are going to be moving back sooner than later from New Hampshire and that is the best news of all If anyone knows of anyone needing an offensive coordinator or just a position coach please feel free to email me...have a great day and good luck to the new hillwood coach whoever that is
  11. Spoon, this is scott smith and i am just a football coach trying to learn from my mistakes....i hope to get to coach football again soon and put the lessons i have learned at SH and help me do better with the next football team i coach...coach carter is a fine mine and a friend and he will do a great job...the toppers are in good hands...take care and go toppers!!!!
  12. This is Scott Smith. I normally never reply to things said on here anymore but i wanted to try an put the record straight on my time at independence for franklymydear. I taught at independence for almost 3 years, tenure was offered and my teaching was not a problem at all. I taught us history and government and enjoyed my time as an eagle. I was offered a position at science hill for a significiant raise in pay. I would have never left independence except that i wanted to go to a school where football was going to be important. Coach Eubanks was my defensive coordinator and friend and was a great replacement for what i thought would be a team that could go along way in the playoffs. I have no idea of what has happened the last few years but with mr. campbell and coach dyson they will find someone who will be successful.
