The 8U Tennessee Bulldogs will be having tryouts for the upcoming spring season on Sunday, September 22nd at Smyrna Rec. Park (across from the golf course) from 4:00 - 6:00. This team will play during the spring and summer months and compete in tournaments that are held at local ball parks: Mt. Juliet, Donelson, LaVergne, Murfreesboro, Smyrna and Cane Ridge. Kim Francis of Blackman Middle School has been named the new head coach at LaVergne High School she will be assisted by LaVergne Middle School Head Coach Steve Carter.

Point of irony #1) They wouldn't pour $$ into the school to fix it up the last few years with Daniels in charge...they always said "there was no money." (or said no problems existed) Point of HUGE irony #2) 99% of the troublemakers at LHS are from LaVergne Middle, not Rock Springs or Stew Creek. And that's who gets the principal gig. Unreal. Hello! when they get to LMS from Waldron and LaVergne Lake they are on target at LMS they magically come off the state list then they get to LHS and drop out because they refused to make the kids act right so yes thats who they hired. Check test scores before you speak LMS was #1 in county among all the middle schools in test scores your probably the parent of a kid who is part of the problem

County giving Ash a lot of money to fix the facilities. It is believed he has spoke to Rankin DONT LAUGH! Ash and Rankin are boys seriously they worked together 10 yrs between Smith Co and Riverdale. Rankins son is a Jr to be and will be a great lineman i will keep everyone updated.

Melvin did the interviews turned in his 3 finalists to Gill. Gill unimpressed with 2 of the 3 had it opened back up. Melvin has since been forced out due to "continued academic concerns" the position will be taken over by Dirk Ash. Ash has started his search already. I think the coach will be named in a week to 1o days. It will not be any of the names that have been mentioned for this job already.

Congrats to Oakland deserving district champs. The best news I heard yesterday was LaVergne has a new principal so maybe this can be a cure for the LHS staph infection its time for a change.

Your right it is a great staff. I hope we can keep them there. They have brought us so muany great times. Like at Columbia when our assistant coach got up and went to the scorers table and earned us a technical that anyway you look at it cost us the game. Or how about at the Bridgestone Classic where we blew an 18 point lead to a down Franklin team. Or how about last year the first time in 6 years we failed to win 20 games the first time in 5 years we didnt make it out of the districts. I believe youre right lets get behind these guys.

Plain and simple LaVergne was not ready to play. They can make excuses about fouls and not hitting shots all they want. I didnt know Smyrnas "fierce" 2-3 defense forced LaVergne into taking tough shots. There is no doubt they have a chance to be a great team but mark my word I think they will be upset come tourney time. Good luck tonight vs Oakland one of your assistants 3 alma maters would be a bitter sweet win for him.

Fitzgerald (from rhea co) was a finalists he smelled a rat (lhs administration) turned down the job. The other finalists sad to say where Torey Patterson and Ralph Thompson neither were to Gills liking so the position has been reposted. Daniels announced to his faculty yesterday that he (daniels)would not be returning next yr. I guess I wasnt the only one who felt a change was needed.

How do u lose to Smyrna seriously they are the worst team in the district. I think it time some people to start questioning why LaVergne has all these players with ability they have how do they get beat by a terrible team and your rival.

Is it safe to say that LaVergne has really screwed this deal up they give Scott Smith a halfa$$ interview they name 3 finalists 2 of which are proven "clowns" I thinks its time for some changes at LHS and i mean adminstration
