  1. Wayne County will NEVER win too many big games as long as Phil Willard is the head coach. He can't come through in most big games. I found it appalling that Principal David Byrd called him one of the bright minds in the game. He knows his Xs and Os. But does anyone ever talk about how much he promotes programs? Very little. Does anyone ever talk about his major? Physical Education. Sorry, the man isn't very bright. Many people in Summertown wanted him gone as girls coach. He's lucky he had a principal named Bryan True who didn't have the guts to get rid of him. That was a classic case of a basketball coach being too powerful. Oh, one other thing. Be sure to stay on his good side. If you get on his bad side, you'll be there for a very long time. The man holds grudges and wouldn't let them go if a tornado were coming!!
  2. I think Willard leaving is the best thing for this program. He is one of the most arrogant people I've met over the years. I know he won 200-plus games as head coach. But did he do it with integrity? I don't think so. He plays mind games with the girls instead of telling them what they need to do. There is no room for this in coaching. He then puts up a front with the girls acting like he cares about them. Please!! Phil Willard only cares about Phil Willard!! Ask all the girls that quit under his watch about this.
  3. Based on what I've seen, McDonalds All-Americans are selected based on talent alone. I covered one in Texas. We put his picture on the front page of the paper receiving the award. He gets kicked off the team a day later for brawling in the parking lot with fans after a loss at an away game.
  4. No problem Catbacker. You are right. If Emmanuel Andrews went into the stands, that was unprofessional. I did not see that. I know one player tried to take some shots at a LCHS student and I separated them. Several people said the Shelbyville coach shoved an LCHS cheerleader. What else does anyone know about this incident?
  5. Hey everyone. Let's clarify something quickly. The refs called two technical fouls on Shelbyville. One on Coach Kevin Thomas and other came on Isaiah Washington. Shelbyville won the last nine games between the two teams dating back to a Wildcat 69-63 win on Feb. 4, 2005 in Lawrenceburg.
