  1. I heard the JV coach applied. Not sure about any others.
  2. Who will be the new coach at Carter to replace Tony Buell?
  3. Wilson is good. But Carter is not a one man show. Should be interesting.
  4. I`m pretty sure it`s region. But either way, I don`t think seeding is the answer.
  5. OK. There is no TSSAA conspiracy here. It is a complete blind draw. The only rule is that teams from the same region cannot meet until the finals. Can you imagine the controversy if the seeded the teams and made the bracket. It is completely fair the way it is currently done. As for this game: I`ll take Fulton.
  6. Those times are from tssaa.org. But I believe they are incorrect. Carter/Alcoa @ 6:30 Fulton/Stone @ 8:00
  7. In the end, the only team that was hurt by Pryor`s miraculous return was Austin East (Union County might argue). I wonder how much control the coach had in this situation.
  8. Saw where Carter beat Gibbs by 16 or so. But Carter only scored 91 points. Guess they pulled their starters in time to suit the Gibbs fans.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong. But don't all athletes in Knox County now have to sign an ethics contract stating that if they are guilty of a felony OR even a misdemeanor, that they cannot participate in any athletic contest? And that is an almost direct result of the Marshall's incident last fall involving AE football players. Was Pryor one of those involved?
  10. Has it occured to you that the fact that Carter left their starters in the game for 30 seconds longer than Gibbs did is a sign of respect for Gibbs and Coach Anderson. Gibbs is a scary team because of their style of press and shoot 3's. No lead is safe against them. And SPLAINS is correct. The lead never got to 30. It was 18 with 2:30 remaining in the game and Gibbs was still pressing. The largest margin of the game was the final score. If Gibbs had fallen back into their half court zone in the 4th quarter, Carter would have won the game anyway. But Carter would not have scored 105. It was Gibbs's press that caused that. I respect Coach Anderson. All of those things you said about him are correct. He is a class act. The job that he has done with the Gibbs program is remarkable. They are competitive in the toughest AA district around. But don't blast the Carter staff for doing their job. And by the way, when Carter's JV players were scoring the last 4 point of the game, one of the fans behind the bench told me that he heard Coach Buell yelling,"WHOA! STOP SHOOTING!" It was the classless Gibbs fan who followed Coach Buell all the way to the locker room to cuss him out. But I don't blame Coach Andserson for that.
