  1. Would love to see Gallatin and White House play in the regular season instead of just scrimmages and jamborees. It would make for a great game and atmosphere.
  2. I would be shocked if Gallatin and Trousdale County played, although it would make for a very interesting game. I don't know how scheduling "sure win" teams will work for most, because those sure win teams logically will also be trying to schedule sure win teams, if you can follow what I mean. Now, the only schools in Tennessee that overall record doesn't factor into the playoffs are the private schools. Their playoff seeding is still based on district records (seems like they have the best deal!). I know a lot of public schools don't want to play the privates, however.
  3. Now that the Green Wave is in the offseason, it's time to start thinking about next year. Has anybody heard who the three non-district opponents will be in 2011? Obviously there will be a new season opening opponent, but there could also be new opponents in weeks three and five. Any speculation?
  4. No doubt Hendersonville has made adjustments this week to prepare for this rematch, but I'm sure Gallatin has made a few changes also to counter. It's going to be cold, but that's what playoff football is all about. Should be a great crowd. I look for it to be just like last week, very close, with special teams helping decide the outcome. Game day is here again and, unfortunately it will be the last one for one of these two rivals.
  5. Thanks for posting this, I watched it off and on. McKinley won big 40-17. They looked even better today than they did that 1st game back in August. It will be interesting to keep up with them in their playoffs.
  6. Week 9 playoff standings were just released, and they are quite a bit different from week 8, at least for quad 3 in 5A. Henry County is back in from quad 4, replacing Lawrence County who goes to quad 4. Columbia and Shelbyville shifts to quad 2. Clarksville and West Creek are newcomers. Gallatin is projected as the 5 seed, while Hendersonville is the 4, so they would play again in week 11 as it stands right now. It would appear that not only are they playing this week for a 1st or 2nd place finish in District 9, but also for a 1st round home playoff game. Of course, as drastically as things changed from week 8 to 9, it could and probably will be juggled as much after week 10. We will see!
  7. Hopefully it will be packed on both sides, it is supposed to be perfect football weather. Gallatin showed how successful it can be in throwing the football last Friday night. With the way Hendersonville shut down Haymer and Beech's running game, it appears it's going to take a lot of passing success for the Wave to have a chance to come out on top. Several Gallatin coaches mentioned on the Saturday morning show that their best game is still yet out there. Friday night at the Wave Yard would be a great time to find it!
  8. These playoff projections could change a lot depending on who does what the final two games, but they do give a good idea of potential opponents. With 2 wins, would that be good enough for Gallatin to jump into the quad top 4 and get a home game in the playoffs? They have to get this next one first! By the way, 2nd round games would actually be 1-8 vs. 4-5 and 2-7 vs. 3-6.
  9. Not sure if Gallatin can "over match" anybody at this point, but I do believe they will win the game. I was encouraged with better play even in the loss last Friday, but there is still plenty to work on to get to where they should be. Win these last 2 and they could get a first round home game in the playoffs, split and definitely a road game, lose both and maybe out altogether. Still loads to play for!
  10. I think this game will stay close throughout, and we all know in a close game anything can happen at the end. Don't be surprised if Gallatin finds a little Waveyard magic hanging around and pulls out a win in the final minute or two.
  11. This game appears to be a great opportunity for the Wave to work on correcting the things that have plagued them for most of the year. I think they will win the game, but am interested in seeing if they can put together four solid quarters of good football. They will have to do this if they expect to compete in the final three games of the year.
  12. This Gallatin team has loads of talent and plenty of potential, but for whatever reasons (and I've heard a bunch) it hasn't come together through half the season. There should definitely be no lack of motivation with the opponent this week, and the rest of the season for that matter. As bad as it was last Friday, Gallatin still controls its own destiny inside the district. The rest of the season starts with game 1 this Friday night, and that's where all the focus should be.
  13. Game day is here, should be a great crowd and great atmosphere! Hopefully the rain will hold off until it's over. One note of interest: since 2001, these two teams have played three times (Gallatin win in 2001 playoffs, Brentwood win in 2005 playoffs and 2009 regular season) and the road team has won all three. Let's hope that trend continues one more game. Kickoff about 12 hours away!
  14. Looking forward to a great game, this should be a dandy! Is it a 7:00 or 7:30 kickoff? I have seen and heard both times, but I'm pretty sure all of Brentwood's home games are at 7:30. Go Big Green!
