  1. Well, before I forget, Id like to say what fun this has been chatting with all yall this season. Guess next year for my sons Senior year I will have to chat with a whole new crowd. Wish all of the 9AAA teams the best of luck where ever they end up in the playoffs or next years new district. Hope next years group are as opinionated as yall were lol .; Thanks and God bless
  2. Thanks BK, so thats #16, #34, and #52. Got it.....thanks, he is doing a lot better. He passed his examine to finish the season last week, but, when asked to bench the bar he couldnt. The kid weighs 160, maxxed at 255 in the Spring, and now cant bench the bar. So he needs to sit. LOL. But everyday we feel we made the right decision not to operate, as he gets stronger ever day. May have even been a blessing in disguise....dont know how MJ looks, but, all the teams we played this year, Gallatin was the best all around team. They were clicking. Beech couldnt throw it, so they ran it and ran it well, Lebanon, well, if we played them 10 times we'd both be 5-5, SC was just dysfunctional, had a good qb and rb, and not much else, WC had great speed, but that was about it, Hville, we never saw their starters, so I cant comment about them, but maybe they should have played their starters more during the season, no reason they should be getting winded now. Course. my perceptions are coming from a person that never played a day in his life, but, I know what I see, lol. Us, well, we were short handed, in every facet of the game, except for heart. I mean we had one kid tape his shoulder every week together just to get on the field, qb trying to play with a dislocated knee cap, mine trying to get back from a AC shoulder separation with two ruptured ligaments, multiple concussions among the players, and the list goes on. Knowing they were going to get the crap knocked out of them, EVERY WEEK. In fact the starting rb and full back "like" my photos on fb with the caption "still grinding" on their photos as they are being tackled. That was pretty much the entire teams attitude this year, "dont stop grinding"....Love these kids.
  3. Im just praying we dont have any more hurt before the season ends. Right now we are down 2-3 two way starters. Yes we have NO depth at all right now, even last night in the JV game with SC it was 6-6 till a few minutes left in the 4th and SC scored the go ahead touchdown. At one point we had to take a time out cause one of the tackles was getting taped up, and we only had 2 on jv. BUT, the Sophomores have got a ton of experience this year. As I told Coach Cav last night after the loss, they have done great things with so little. Anyone without clouded preconceptions can see that. As well as last years staff. For several, several years, we just dont have enough motor under the hood. The best attitudes Ive seen in kids this year though. They never quit. God love em.
  4. None taken, you beat me to it. SC beat the smallest school in our district. We are down 3-4 two way starters on off/def including the qb, (though the qb Friday did quite well) and they are filling these holes with mostly inexperienced Sophomores, who are learning under fire. I love our kids to death, they have fought harder than expected all year. For SC to be trailing almost the entire first qtr, they have a lot of work to do. Their qb had a decent night, good strong arm, rec drop too many balls. Their rb is talented as well, and flat ran over our line. BUT, IF, all that didnt happen, then they are in a sad state of affairs. Funny, in our district SC has only beat Leb, WC, and us, and we beat Leb. But thanks for considering us a big win hahaha.Good luck to everyone in the playoffs. I really, really see Gallatin and Hendersonville as the top teams in our district, no disrespect to the Bucs, but they dont have a running game and passing game, but WC does have great speed. We havent played MJ yet, they are our final game. Praying for a safe game Thursday night as we welcome the bears. BK I will get photos of your son, and if any other MJ parents on here, just give me their number, its no problem. Here is the link to my fb page for the Station Camp parents :https://www.facebook.com/randy.dixon.35/media_set?set=a.10203079670087917.1073741985.1090911915&type=3
  5. Man the 9AAA threads have died off. Good luck to everyone tomorrow night.
  6. Cant believe no one has started a thread for this game lol. Im just praying for a safe game. We are pretty banged up, and not much depth. God bless our kids.
  7. Here is the link to my facebook page for the photos, I dont have any on flickr yet, just havent had time. https://www.facebook.com/randy.dixon.35/media_set?set=a.10203053801321214.1073741984.1090911915&type=1
  8. Thanks guys, next year will be my sons Senior year, so we are hoping for the best. I still havent got the photos processed yet, but, when I do, I will post the links here.
  9. No, our culture is fine, we just need athletes. Our stands were full on our side, and the locals have supported these kids all year, and Gallatin as usual filled their side, (like Im used to seeing the Green Wave fans follow their team). As Gwave noted, we just dont have enough bodies. Prayers for our starting qb who told me he thinks that he tore his quad muscle and will go for an MRI Monday he said. We are riddled with injuries, and no depth. We have no depth, and are full of inexperienced players. Some of ou......Gallatin tonight looked better than the last 3 years Ive watched them play Portland. They have multiple backs, qb has time to throw, and their line penetrated ours all night. Congrats to their coaching staff substituting as well, gave our coaches a chance to get some younger kids the experience they desperately needed. I was proud of my ol alma mater tonight. The Gallatin kids only made a few mistakes by losing their temper, but, they are kids. No harm no foul. Great effort by both teams, just one was way ahead of the other.........and their band was the best sounding band we have seen this year, cudos to them as well. I saw one Gallatin player leaving on crutches, hope the young man is well............I will post the photo links on this thread so if yall know any Gallatin players, please pass them along.
  10. Believe it or not it happened with us that night. Two whole plays were ran, 2 seconds came off the clock. Amazing.....Read my post in our leb vs Port thread. Our kids were amazed, I was amazed, at the lack of support from the fans. The rb they have is a great back, no offense to the kid, but as big as he is, we have way too small a secondary that should not be able to bring him down, and they did. Maybe he is playing hurt, I dont know. The qb seemed to have the drive and desire to push the team forward, sadly, not many others did. We have been playing them my sons entire career (3 years so far) and by far, this was the least motivated team we have faced this year or any year. But when it was a close game, they woke up, the last quarter was some of the most heartfelt football I have seen. But that goes both ways. For us too that night. So, it is there. Inside the kids, its just a matter of getting it out of them. Like I have said, any man that is trying to make a living off the whims of 14-18 year old kids, my heart goes out to them, ya never know what your going to get or who is going to show up lol. I have several dear friends in that town, and I wish them nothing but the best.
  11. Amen to that, praying you all have a safe game.
  12. LOL you could be right, it was going off in the 2nd half non stop the first 5 minutes. The first half it was fairly quite lol....funniest thing Ive read this week, thanks, I needed that.
  13. For sure brother, I will be on the sidelines from the time I get there till its over. Let me know if you want any photos of someone.
  14. LOL we were wondering if Beech put the horn in just for us when we played up there, and their horn sucks. LOL the night they were using it against us, it sounded like it wasnt getting enough air. Ours runs off a air compressor, and a big one, lol. Whats funny is when some of the train engineers blow their horn when they come behind our field, then they set ours off, kinda like dueling banjos hahaha.
  15. Been working Gwave, and his name is Devonta House, and yes he is a great back, and kid. Kid just keeps digging. Im hoping for a good game, that win did a lot for our kids morale. It was a sloppy game due to all the rain and they never gave up. Also expect about 4 trains a night to come by, we were joking the other night at Lebanon, we wished Portland school facility was like Lebanon's, but there is no way CSX will reroute the train tracks lol. We've been the underdog every week, this one is no different. We are mostly healthy and I think the only starter still out for injury is my son. Lord willing he may actually make it back the last two games. Any particular jersey # you want me to get photos of? Just let me know on here.
  16. I still dont understand what basketball has to do with it? LOL that be like me saying...oh yea, well our GIRLS just won the district in volleyball, so there....has nothing to do with the present state of football...LOL howd yall like my shameless plug for our girls...Im sorry, I just couldnt stop myself. Time for bed
  17. WOW, you nailed our game, We tried multiple ways to lose tonight, but managed a win. We had costly mistakes at the worst times. So did Lebanon. Both teams appeared to me, to play their guts out. Fortunately for us, the final miscue by Lebanon put the tide in our favor. I really and truly hope the young man does not blame himself for the loss, nor should he. They had just as many opportunities to blow the game wide open as we did. All the other miscues that Lebanon, and us for that matter, led up to that play, where the squib punt was muffed. I think, what I saw tonight, was at any time, either team could win. I have never seen two teams, with absolutely, nothing to play for, except for pride, play so hard. It was quite refreshing. Playing for pride. Nothing more, nothing less. I love Lebanon, lived there while I was at CU, but guys, support your kids. Our kids were even talking about how they felt sorry for the Lebanon players, they compared our facilities, to Lebanon's, they are miles apart with Lebanon being way ahead of us, then they looked in the stands, we had twice as many fans as Lebanon did. It appeared most on Lebanon's were there to watch the band perform,( they did a great job) and left after half time. You have to support your kids, after all they are playing for YOU. Their community. The way both teams fought till the end, I wished we could play them every week, but wish just as much, the fans show up for their players. I dont think we had anyone leave during the typhoon that blew through, and the kids fed off of it......speaking of team rules, I love them, and I love when they are followed. It has been a rough year, lots of injuries and mistakes. Long losing record, you all know our situation, we have team rules. How many in our situation would have a coach that would actually follow the rules they set forth and bench the starting qb and dismiss the second starting running back from the team, for not following team rules, right in the middle of one of our worst seasons? Ours did, and I applaud them for it. Nothing comes before team, no player, no one. It teaches them lessons, they will learn no other way. Old school, and I love it. Hope everyone had a safe night, and again thanks for the messages about my son, it means a lot.
  18. Got a running joke at work with a guy whose son plays at Lebanon. One of us has to win. Surely there cant be a tie. Praying for a safe game. Talking to him they have several out with injuries as do we. I know its not the season either team expected. But, ya play with what ya got. Looking forward to seeing old friends in Lebanon Friday night. Whoop whoop!
  19. Sad to say that how it works 99% of the time, and not just in football, its all high school sports around here. Its a shame cause one player cant carry a team, no matter who it is. So far against us, #27 for Beech has impressed me the most, kid ran all over us, around us, through us. From what I understand he is just a junior too. Course we still havent played Gallatin, SC, Leb, or MJ. We didnt see #2 for Hville the other night except holding the extra points. Loved to seen him play, but, they didnt need him, or a couple of others.

  22. The same as we are doing now, and may still do the same no matter how far we drop. Just the way it is. Heck we had over a 100 kids show up back in the Spring, new coaching staff, etc. They (the kids) were going to set the world on fire. Before the first scrimmage in August we were down to about 60 something. Barring an injury, some kids today just have too much in the way : desire, work ethic, jobs, xbox, girlfriends, etc. and sadly in all sports athletics is coming in second or third to a lot of them.
  23. I had to go to work today, but I will post the link here for facebook and flickr. Flickr is easier to download off of and the photo quality is better as well. Yes I saw several of your guys on crutches and not dressed out, hate seeing these young guys hurt (including my own lol). as far as photography. I read a lot lol. and spend your money on lens then the body. Thats the nice thing about flickr if the person has it set up right you can see the settings of the camera on the photo.......and I pulled up my phone when the rain started and we barely missed getting hit by a typhoon. lol. We were thinking on the sidelines it would be snowing before it was over.....the only question I had in the game, why were they trying so many onside kicks when they were up by so much lol. my buddy was texting me from yalls side and said they were just trying to help us with field position hahaha and then when we scored he text "see it worked"...I will see him at work hahaha eta: thanks for the well wishes for Kemper, Dr Pagnani came to the game last night and checked on him and some others, super nice guy and doc. The bone is starting to reset a little, but the pain is still great in the shoulder. But he should make a full recovery, just wont ever be 100% or be back this year, but it will be just as good as if they had operated. Thanks again.
  24. With everything going on this week, and going to doctors with my son, I forgot to start a thread. We were beat 48-8. We are pretty much decimated by injuries at this point. In the first we had 2-3 starters hurt as well, and our qb puking his guts out on the sideline. Rough night, but, the kids hit it hard to the end. God love them for it.
