I really hope Zion can pull this one out. These young men have been working their tails off for a few years now and it is finally starting to pay off. This is the first time since when they first started that program they have had a record like 3-1, and beating cornersville last night should be a real confidence booster to them.

CA didn't move the ball at will, but the referees did. Over my lifetime of watching sports of any kind i have seen but a few terribly officiated games, this being one. These were terrible, i have no idea if it was some just good ol home cookin, or if these guys just couldnt see. Whatever it was it was the worst display of officiating i have ever seen. The play where they threw the little guy out of the game for "throwing a bunch" was absurd. If anyone should have been thrown out it should have been the CA kid who hit the zion player a good 10 feet out of bounds. The pass interference that ended up leading to the winning touchdown was also a very iffy at best call. So zion played its heart out and the couldnt be the 17 players on CAs side. It's sad something like this can happen to young men who work so hard.

I hate to sound smart but zion isnt the worst team in 12A right now. It seems funny how when a team beats you then they are all of the sudden the worst team there is. I give the Zion credit for having the most will to play and never quite for any team in 12A. For two years they had teams with 15 and 16 kids on them and every year they had a team to put on the field. And look at them now, they have just got their first region win and seem to be well on their way to building up a pretty decent football program at Zion. Keep it up men.

Congrats to Zion and everybody who is part of that organization. Zion has a great group of guys on that team this year and a coaching staff who would do anything for them. Was it just me or did PC play calling seem very limited, I got there at the beginning of the second half and really only saw the one sweet play and them a dive play the whole time. As for PC keep fighting guys, I know how it feels trying to fight for that first win. It will come, maybe not in the way or the time you want it to but it will. Congrats again to Zion its good to see you guys getting some wins and building a good team for next year.

Some of the mistakes i have seen this year are simply just inexperience or lack of attention. We for one have alot of umpires that are very young as in maybe a couple years older than us in some cases. I know for a fact a couple who graduated only 2 seasons ago. Im not saying this is a bad thing they just have to get some experince under their belts and the players, coaches, and fans should realize this guy is not as experienced and may miss a call or two. If it weren't for them we may have no umpires in the later years. As for wanting the strike zone to be by the book. You really don't want to see this from letters to knees. For pitchers that throw harder they will live way up in the zone and batters either, one cant catch up with it so high or, two they will just pop most stuff up for easy fly balls. For the slower pitcher decent batters are just going to smash the ball. Perfect example is a game that was played last week. On Monday the strike zone was about from high shins to belt and the umpire did a great job staying with that all day, this resulted in a very low scoring good baseball game. The next day played with a umpire who was making the pitcher work from maybe mid thigh to letters. Let me tell you the ball was just being crushed. I personally as a batter and pitcher would rather have the low consistent strike zone than the high inconsistent one just for the fact it will be a better game and work both ways. Over all most of the umpires have been alright from what I have seen this year. And we have to give it up for the veterans who I have played with for years and the young guys for taking their time to come out and officiate the game we all love.

sry about the mix-up about collinwood. shows how much you can listen to other people talking and be right. although i am glad it wasnt a big deal that happened and there wasnt a bunch who left.

I heard collinwood's coach who is new had a fight with some players who i think were starters and they decided to quite. i heard it was like 4 or 5 of them. please anyone with more info correct me if im wrong. who did collinwood loose as far as seniors last year besides stokesbury(sp.)

Mt pleasant usually has alot of talent on their teams. It just seems to me they have a hard time playing together as that team sometimes. If they could get a good team mentality there they could be a very tough ball club.

Cornersville has alot of talent also with i think 5 senior and 9 junior.

I was thinking Sante Fe not downing them in any way they have a great coach its just a smaller school and has been a little low on talent recently.

I believe perry does have the big guy back if its the same one we are thinking of also played 1st base for them. He did throw decently hard and had somewhat of a strange motion it seemed just only had one pitch and players could pick up on it after their second at bat. From what i hear although it being from perry co. they should have a decent team. How is wayne co. this year?

Its only been a few that i have seen, and heard of a few more. I just dont believe any baseball bat is worth a $325 dollar price tag.

The exogrid is not worth the $325 price tag i have hit with them and seen them break by getting jammed and the carbon fiber plates coming out. The stealth bats are ok though i forgot about those. And as far as the Nike bat goes the new one is a very good bat and is just as good as the Louisville Sluggers.

He probably plays for a team that gets stomped into the ground by Ooltewah every year.

We have the new nike aero torque and it hits nice it is very balanced and doesnt have one of those crappy flex handles that seem to break alot.

O.K. thanks i thought so. He seems to be Summertowns best player and has a great arm for pitching. I just couldnt rem. if he graduated last year or will this year. Sounds right him graduating this year thought. Does Hampshire even have a team this year?

Zion by 7. Cass has been picking up the pace quite a bit lately. Ans if Moore has a good game he is close to unstoppable. If they play like they did against Collinwood they should be just fine.

How do yall think 12A will be this year? It seems some teams lost some very good ball players and alot of teams are young. Just lookin for some input any welcome.

I dont know about 1st place now. Summertown usually has a great team they live and breath basketball and baseball over there. Collinwood should be a top runner also they have a great run team so it seems. Then Waynesboro depending on their pitching. After the top 2 or 3 spots the district is a toss up, with Perry Co., Zion, Hampshire,Mt. Pleasant,and Clifton. This should prove to be a very exciting district with any of the teams having a chance, it comes down to pitching and coaching and who is the most focused. Does Summertown still have Jon Ivie(sp.)? If I remember he was a very good pitcher for them.

No offense in any way shape or form to CA but its pretty much where the kids that would get there butts beat up at central go if they have money.Again no offense to the school itself intended its just the fact of the matter. Its a shame really when a school that clames this is failing at such a great rate. and as the parent situation goes the fact is that im sure most of these parents that complained about the players are on the school board this is why they have so much authority on the coach. Its as simple as if the parents that are on the board dont like the decisions of the coach hes gone. Me personally i wouldnt coach anywhere that there was a situation like that.

exactly that would help there programs more than anything because they definately have the academics to back up the decisions of people that want to go there but who simple cant afford it.

um yes they will eventually because if they dont decide to there is rumor that DII will be reserved and be the private school division so ive heard. so they will eventually.

I dont think it will be the last. Its pretty lame when all you can think of in reply is to tell people how bad their english is. o well im sure WC will "gel" but zion will do nothing but learn more and more how to play as a team. Its definately not the last time zion beats WC.
