  1. He moved back to Knoxville to be closer to his kids. He also got into some trouble with a student at Montgomery Central towards the end of last year. He got a slap on the wrist. My son still talks to him. I think he's completely gotten out of coaching and doing real estate and pharmisutical sales making mid 6 figures. The kids really loved playing for him. But you're right, they were competitive each of his years there. That was my whole point in my last message. Central should be in a lot better position once the new coach took over. The expectation to win was there from both the coaches and the kids 3 years ago. I'm not sure what is happening now to the program, but it is very disappointing to see the scores each week. I do think that Waverly is a winnable game for Central. I looked at the rest of their schedule and with the exception of Waverly, I'm not sure there's anyone else that I can comfortably say, they can beat. None-the-less, Go Indians!
  2. Ok...I havent made a post since my son graduated from Central 3 years ago. But since putboobieincoach made his comment about kids giving up, i've got to speak my piece. Bragg was the head coach then and my son's last two years they were over .500 each season. Several of the games that they did lose were only by 2-3 points his senior year (including camden, creekwood, at stewart co). His Junior year (4 years ago), Central went 6-4 and made the playoffs. Of those 4 games they lost, 3 was by less than a touchdown. That year, we beat up on East Hickman so bad, the coach told us 'that they couldn't compete with central and didn't want to be on our schedule anymore'. This year, E. Hickman's back on the schedule and won big. My son's central team ran the wing t on offense and a 3-4 on defense in which they averaged holding teams to around 12 points per game. By the way, the old head coach was only there for 3 years and by year 2, we were in the playoffs. That was coming into a central team who hadn't won a game in 4 years prior to him getting there. He brought a brand new offense and defense. The kids responded and they won games. So the time excuse doesn't impress me one bit. If anything, the new coach and his staff have it alot easier than Bragg did when he got there and therefore, should be further ahead. The past two years, central has averaged getting out scored at least 35 points per game. That, to me, isn't playing hard at all for the talent that they supposedly have. Thats getting the slaughter rule enstated almost every game (FOR TWO YEARS STRAIGHT!). I don't think central has even scored more than 28 points total last season. IDK who Coach Thomlinson retained from Bragg's old staff, but if the kids are athletic, big and playing hard, then it has to be the coaches. At this point, I don't think focusing on wins is a realistic goal for this team. The focus should be to just make the games NOT get out of hand each week and attempt to score around 14-18 points per game. I don't want to give the impression that I'm not routing for Central or the Coach Tomlinson. He was very successfull at Creekwood as a Coordinator. But in this industry, it's what you've done lately. Just giving some facts that have obviously been overlooked.
  3. Sounds to me like you have things figured out. How about sending Coach Blow your resume and getting on the staff (insert sarcasm here) next season? Camden will be fine.
  4. Ive seen OC on film with my son. They were impressive, but I wasn't amazed by their athleticism. I was impressed with the offensive scheme more than anything. You all have a WR and a RB that can move around pretty good (just like Rossview). Your QB has a great arm, but that doesn't make it athletic. The rest of your team, I can find on any other team. If you wanna be amazed with overall team athleticism, then watch Alcoa, Maryville, Dickson Co, Austin-East, Maplewood, Pearl Cohn, etc...There, your RB & WR come a dime-a dozen. On a positive note, your field looks real nice though and you have a ton of cheerleaders. Are they all coming to the game Friday?
  5. The haven't won a game yet, but the teams they played are fairly ligit. They go as follows: Clarksville NorthEast-Currently Undefeated Dickson Co.-Currently Undefeated Whites Creek-Only lost one game Kenwood-Not sure about them Anyway, all I'm saying is I think the game is gonna be closer than a lot of people think.
  6. The talk around Montgomery Central is that Obien Co. has the ability to make big plays. But anybody is beatable. Central is definitely gonna have to be on their 'A' game this week. 2 weeks ago, they beat a big, athletic 6A Rossview football team. Fairly convincingly too. I think it'll be close.
  7. The policy may not be fair, but life isn't fair. Alot of times we're punished for the mistakes of others. If the player is a model student, then normally he/she has model parents too. But even if thats the case, the parent still has to be made accountable for their actions up in the stands. The policy doesn't neccisarily help the player. It helps the overall program bc it teaches parents they can't come to the games and talk anyway they feel. 'Keep things positive at all times' is the idea behind it.
  8. Actually we went 6-4 (and hosted a first round) this past year with a second year head coach (which by the way, we support him and his staff whole-heartedly). Your head coach didn't want to schedule us again this year because he said "you all couldn't compete with us". I'm not saying we're a model program bc we're still getting there. But the difference between our thread on coach t and your thread is the fact there are more words of encouragement being said from people who aren't even apart of your program. Hate it or love it FranklyMyDear....you're a hater and I love it!!!
  9. Montgomery Central does have that policy. I heard Coach Bragg announce it and actually saw it in action during the Creekwood Game. A parent was running her mouth about putting her son in and Central would lose if they didn't. That following week, the kid was suspended for the rest of the season.
  10. I have kids who played for Montgomery Central (which played EH for the past 2 years). Each year I have read your threads about your head coach and each year it has been the same crap that always seems to waste my time when I read it. I would love to pick some of you poster's brains about what you actually know about football and running a program. I guarantee its no where near enough to be proud of. Get behind your coach. I should send Coach King Montgomery Central's policy on dealing with parents like you all: If Coach Bragg, his staff, or admin hear a parent bad mouthing the program in anyway, shape or form, he will remove your kid from the team ASAP and let the parent explain to their son as to why they are being booted. Again, get behind your coach. Do you think he wants the program to fail. As much time as you spend bashing him and the program, how about you invest some time doing positive things for the program and find ways to put the staff and kids in positions to win (which includes shutting up). Hate it or love it: I'm right and you're wrong!
  11. Here's their website. It's actually pretty nice. My link
  12. Was very glad to see my Indians finish out the season strong this past year. Had several to make all district and 1 to make ALL-State (maybe). Anybody know what the Indians have coming back?
  13. Prez? I really do like you...I think that you think we don't. I really do enjoy reading your posts. I will agree with you in the fact that MCHS has not played a tough of schedule as Camden has, and yes, we should have won the West Creek Game. But hey, right now we're 4-1 so we're gonna ride that wagon into the sunset!! I know 4-1, 5-0, 6-0 is par for the course for you guys, but we're real excited about our Indians this year!! Best of luck to Camden this year (other than this Friday). I really do think you guys have a shot of making it to state if you can keep everyone healthy going into the playoffs. That's the biggest obstacle teams face in the post-season. Here at Central, we're hoping to not get the 'injury bug' this second half of the season. I do think we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs to this year. Time will tell...
