  5. I think the program was going in the right direction under Bragg and his staff. With that being the case, it would be good if the school hired someone that has already been there. Out of all the names I'm hearing, Larry Lepkowski would be the best fit for the job. He knows the kids, parents and community, has worked close with Bragg as assistant head and DC. Bragg's first two seasons, the MCHS defense ranked in the top two each year for run and pass stop in the district. He's already in the building and would make the transition very easy and smooth for everyone involved.
  6. I am the Head Coach of a Tennessee High School football team as well as a Christian and my stance is this: I, for one, am no where near being perfect. I am going to put my team in a position where they can win at the scoreboard at the end of the field. But more importantly, I am going to put them in a position to win at the scoreboard's at the end of their lives. We Pray before and after every practice and games(in which I lead). We have a Team Chaplin who is at almost every practice and game. We also have an FCA Character Coach Speaker every Thursday to bring the Word and open the Invitation to Christian Discipleship (So far we've had over 40 kids to give their life to Christ and more than 60 to rededicate their lives (in less than 3 years). I strongly feel that God puts his people in leadership positions to help carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28). Like I said before, I'm not perfect. But I'd hate to be the person, who at the end of their life, have to explain to GOD why they didn't take advantage of the opportunities that he gave them to spread his Word to others. So as for me and my Family, we will serve the Lord!
  7. Have 101 on the roster as of now. I'm sure several will drop by the season, but kids are working hard. Been averaging around 65 at winter workouts.
  8. Rumor is that Ken Busbee has been named the new Head Coach at Clarksville High (Don't quote me on that just yet). He was the Offensive Coord. for Snider for several years at CHS. Last year, he was with us at Montgomery Central and did a great job. Good luck to Coach Busbee!! Clarksville High has them a great coach who really cares about his kids and knows his X's & O's. I really hope the administration gets behind him and gives him what he needs to be successful.
  9. The Indians seem to be really improving. I watched several ball games last year and thought they looked 10 times better than they did in years past. Heard they also got some transfers in from Hopkinsville? Does anyone know our schedule for this upcoming season?
  10. Well I was waiting for someone else to make this post, but I guess I'll go ahead and get it started. Two teams with the best overall records in their district (Montgomery Central 4-1 & Camden 5-0). Both are wing-t teams. Central has shown a lot of improvement this year, but can they match up to the speed of Camden?
  11. I thought the Spring Game was a success too. After the FCA speaker spoke, there were about 4 or 5 kids who gave their lives to Christ. We need more stuff like that going on in our schools. You know the kids and coaches only had a week to prepare (really 4 days of practice). Time to hit the weights and get big now. Let's bring it home Central!!!!
  12. Everything went well in the RED-WHITE. When the starters were in, the passing game and running game looked real well. You could tell those younger kids were still learning. It looked like everyone had a good time at the game and an even better time at the parent meeting and cookout. The FCA speaker (Pastor David Mackin) did a great job. Coach Bragg and his staff run a great program!! Very classy. Best of luck to our Indians this year!!!
  13. What is the outlook for our Indians this year? We've got our 2nd annual red vs. white game this Friday (5/14) We were able to bring home several wins this past year (I count Stewart Co. game as a win). I heard they have several new coaches on the staff this year. What's the word?
  14. I'm not surprised by the question. I was surprised at how fast you posted the question. lt was almost as if you were trying to rush Graham out the door. I know Spring ball is about to start and they have to keep the momentum going, but you posted that question almost at the same time he made his announcement to leave. I just thought the timing was bad. But you're right. AE is a top program and whoever gets the opportunity to coach there will inherit some great talent and great kids.
  15. Before anybody talks about new coaches at AE, I want to say Graham is one of the best coaches in Tennessee. He did a lot of great things for his kids/coaches that most other area coaches would never do. He has sent more kids to college than any other coach in Knoxville in the past 5 years. Fulton and Catholic kids would even go to Graham after the season for help to get into school (because their coaches weren't doing anything to help). I don't think Knoxville realizes the impact of Graham leaving AE. He was also a great assett and ambassador for the school. He participated in every in-service and faculty meeting. He will compliment Joe Gaddis/ staff and continue to impact the lives of young people in North Carolina. AE is losing a great coach. I can't believe you would post that question 2 hours after he announced he was leaving.
