  1. Hats off to Riverdale for a great game and I wish you much luck as you're now Murfreesboro's last hope at a gold ball. I wish you well. A wise coach stated "when you win say little, when you lose say less". So I'm done for this year. I enjoyed all yalls post.... Peace out!
  2. Thank you to all those that have served our country. Happy Veterans Day!
  3. Although I agree with most of what you stated, I have to question one part ("Blackman and Riverdale were clearly better than anyone else in the district"). I only saw Smyrna 3 times this year but they looked as good as any team I saw in district 7AAA. On a good night they could have beaten any team in the state. They beat Siegel in overtime and lost to Blackman in overtime. But I get your point, GOOD POST. GO BLAZE!
  4. No disrespect for Oakland, they were young and rebuilding. But Oakland was blown out by both Blackman and Riverdale. If you think you're ready to beat up on Siegel just because you beat Oakland you could be in for a long night. No district gets ya ready for the playoffs like 7AAA (the only real 6A district). Try getting Smyrna, Oakland, Siegel, Blackman and Riverdale on your schedule next year and let me know how that works out for ya. Just sayin....
  5. OK, It's close enough to game day and it's time to make our picks. My best guess on this game is Blackman wins this one in overtime... 42 - 35 What ya think? And peace be with you my brothers
  6. What education? And will you stop talking about me and talk about the game? No one cares about me.
  7. No, I'm sure you'll top it with some of those free, unsolicited, DUCK promos. PEACE OUT! GO BLAZE!
  8. Your right, I've never saw a perfectly officiated game, a perfectly coached game or a perfectly played game. But I still love watching and wouldn't trade Blackmans coaching staff or players for any team I've watched this year. Most coaches get too much credit and too much blame for what happens on the field. In sports talent rules. The team with the most, most often win. Talent is something you're born with, no coach gave it to you. The teams that are playing three weeks from now will have had a little luck and have a lot of talent. That's just the way the games designed. And the fans, well we know everything and would never miss a call, play or tackle. PEACE OUT!
  9. Not really, (stupid statement) I'll bet you neither one of those guys play a down.
  10. In the first match-up Blackman showed nothing. If you think you know what Blackmans planning, you'll be surprised. Blackman has shown nothing in the last five games. Friday night I think you'll see the plays Blackman have practiced all season and not used. This is the game that matters. The real Blaze will rise up Friday night and that other team isn't going to know what's going on. Unleash the BEAST! GO BLAZE!
  11. After running the gauntlet in district 7AAA I'm sure the Stars are ready for MJ.
  12. Times are tough and we all know it. Some kids may not be coming due to the cost and thats just sad. On the other hand, My child is playing and I'd give a $108.00 for a ticket if thats what it cost. These are memories you only get one chance at. Many people pay 50 to 100 bucks to watch the Titans play on Sunday and the best games are on Fridays. Is the TSSAA greedy? YES! Should you support your local teams anyway? YES! GO BLACKMAN BLAZE! Lord willing I'll see ya Friday night at the game.
  13. If the TSSAA has their way... We'll have 10 class championship games (plus 10 private school championship games) and $10 playoff tickets next year. It's all about the money. Isn't that the reason the championship games are being played in Cookville instead of in the center of the state (Murfreesboro). It's all about the money.
  14. It's would make no one more happy than myself if the Stars win this one. GO STARS!
  15. Lets face it, These teams have not played this year. Riverdale played Blackman without Mathers and that simply isn't the same team as Blackman with. Both teams pretty much took last week off on defense and if that's not fixed by Friday, This could be the highest scoring game in the history of high school football. I'd love to see the Siegel MJ Game but noway would I miss the game at Riverdale. It's gonna be a good one. I'd say a good chance of overtime before the dust settles, And if you have a weak heart... stay home. GO BLAZE!
  16. OK Bullydog81, your right. I can't read write amd I can't right read, so who am I to correct anyone anyway. Keep posting and I'll figure it out. About the game, I hate it but, I see Siegel dropping this one in overtime. I think it'll be a really close game. But after the silly play called at the end of the Smyrna game on TV where the coaches talked about going for two with a camera in the huddle (That might not be a good idea in a world of cell phones and texting.) It's also not fair to the players who have played so well for the whole game for the coach to try and win it on a trick play. The idea of puting in a player who hasn't made a snap in the whole game, jumping in with the whole game riding on his snap might be a bad idea. (The snap was to go to the place holder and went over the kickers head) I've saw a lot of calls this season. Some have been very good, but that one comes to mind as the worst one I saw this year by any team. With that said, Good luck to the Stars! Do district 7AAA proud.
  17. Please change your screen name. You're making Smyrna look bad. Come on! Milo work with your brother.
  18. So you really think it's a good idea to eat a pot of chili 3 hours before the game? Please sit on the Riverdale side and let her rip boys. I'm glad to say I'll be (up wind) on the Blackman side for more reasons than one this week. GO BLAZE!
  19. This is copied from the rules book: Rule 3-2-1 The winner of the toss shall be given his choice of defense or offense first, or of designating the end of the field at which the ball will be put in play for this set of downs. The loser will have his choice of the other options. After the first team on offense has completed its series of downs, the first team on defense will become the offensive team with the ball in its possession at the same 10-yard line anywhere between the hash marks. If the score remains tied after each team has been given one series of downs in an overtime period, then the procedure shall be repeated with other overtime periods until a game winner is determined. In this case, there shall be an intermission of two minutes. At the subsequent meeting of team captains, the loser of the overtime coin toss will be given first choice of the options. If additional overtime periods are required, then first options will be alternated with no coin toss.
  20. My guess is the Bulldogs "pony up" and run all over the Rebs this week. I know it's been said but "this just isn't the same Smyrna team they faced earlier". IT"S PAYBACK TIME!
  21. If there is one team in the state I'd rather not play at this point it's Smyrna. They are peaking at the perfect time and could go all the way. Watch out for those Dogs, they will bite.
  22. Blackman had poor tackling, poor pass coverage, poor run blocking, average pass protection, threw interceptions, fumbled hand-offs, and even with Mathers, the running game wasn't up to par. Reasons why... It was very cold, wet, slick, Mathers first game in almost a month, And in some cases... you just have to give LaVergne credit. They played pretty well. I thought LaVergne tackled better than most teams Blackman have played. The good part for Blackman is they won and took second place in a very tough district. Now for the play-offs... Blackman must get back to playing well or this season will end quickly. Simply saying "WE ARE BLACKMAN" will not get you deep into the play-offs. It's time to HIT, BLOCK AND RUN. The next game really could come down to who wants to win it the most and I really hope it's the Blaze. It's time to get hungry or go home.
  23. No dought, I pulling for SHS in this one.
